Chapter Fourteen: Taking on the Gathering
"Bullheit," Senlie snapped. "Lower your voice. It is rude when you have to yell."
"Nope!" Bullheit rejected. Kicking up his legs, he hurried to the guards and his friend. "Let my friend go! Now!"
The group of guards were confused now and looked up at Zorac. Zorac raised a finger and pointed at the double doors. He did not need to say a word. His cold stare and motions spoke for him, and everybody in the room got the message.
The guards looked back at Bullheit.
"Release him at once!" the commander demanded. "I am the commander and Lord Zorac's younger brother. You had better listen to me."
The lead guard snorted at him and pushed Ameo. He pushed him so hard that Ameo hit the wall.
"Ameo!" Bullheit growled and slapped the guard's face. He hurried to his best friend.
"You have no say in the matter," the lead guard told the commander, rubbing the side of his face. "Your 'friend' is a traitor. He disobeyed a simple order and needs to pay for his crime."
Ameo coughed and glared at Zorac, Senlie, and the guards. "What crime?" he questioned. "I have committed no crime. My beliefs are beyond what you think that they are. It is right, and I am right."
"Silence," Zorac commanded. "I will hear no more. I have another meeting to attend to." He looked at Senlie. "My brother is not in trouble. But do send him out for the time being. This meeting will be private."
Senlie nodded. "As you wish, sir."
Zorac turned back to the guards. "And take the traitor to the base of the ship. But do not send him away until the meeting is over. Until I give you the signal."
"Yes, Lord Zorac," the guards all said.
Two of the guards grabbed Ameo again. They gripped him by the arms and took him. The other guards pushed open the doors, and all the guards left with Ameo.
"Do not worry, Ameo!" the commander reassured him. "I will set you free!"
Senlie strolled over to him. "Bullheit," he said soothingly. "We need to go. Lord Zorac wants to be alone." He placed his hands on the commander's back and pushed him out. However, he did not need to force him out. Bullheit was happy to oblige.
Bullheit kicked up his legs again and ran after the guards. He was not going to let his true friend perish and die.
When all of them had left the room, the leader brushed himself off and waited for some people. The people who were supposed to attend the meeting.
A smile - a creepy smile - spread across his face as he saw three girls enter the throne room.
"Hello," he said. His voice sounded creepy now. "I was hoping that the three of you would come. And on schedule."
"Trust me, Lord Zorac," one of the girls said. "We would not miss it for the world."
"I am happy to hear that, Kaila." He slowly walked to them. "Bell Star. Kaila Cheese." His eyebrows narrowed when he spotted the third girl. "Lean Share."
Lean was not in the mood. She had her ghostly arms crossed and was frowning.
"Lean?" The leader glared at her. Stared right at her ghostly soul. "Why do you seem upset? I thought that you would be happy to attend this meeting."
"Do not think that I do not know what you are up to," the ghost piped up. "I was not born yesterday. I was born way before you."
"Do you really think that I would be up to something? Something wicked? Me? You are the smarter one."
She rolled her eyes. "This had better be quick."
"Oh, it will. I promise. And you girls will like the plan that I have in mind."
"What plan?" Bell asked.
"I would also like to know," Kaila added.
Zorac smirked. "It is the plan. The plan that will change everything. And each of you will be a part of it."
Lean knew better. She had a feeling about him. About the plan. It almost sounded like a wonderful plan.
However, she was smarter than that.
Zorac's plan was not good. It was bad.
A plan of corruption.
