Chapter 25 Protecting
"Why would you kids assume that I would like something that you are trying to sell me, when you have no idea if I would like it in the first place? I'm betting that this will be a waste of my time, but you have interested me. I'm willing to go see what you have."
They nodded with a smile as Maggie spoke up, "Do you mind bringing your husband too? This is a decision that you both must make. It's not a one person decision."
She rose a brow, "Why is that?"
"When people only have one person come check out what we are selling, the other person doesn't always like what they pick. We don't want you two to face that same fate that many others had to endure."
"Sadly, he can't join us currently. If he could, I would go get him in a flash."
"Is what he's busy with very important?"
"Yes, indeed."
"What is he doing that's important?"
"You ask too many questions, girl. You shouldn't put your nose where it doesn't belong."
Maggie shrugged innocently, "I'm just curious, ma'am. That's all."
"Curiosity killed the cat, you know," Katie's mom pointed out.
Maggie sighed as she looked towards Nick's direction.
Nick decided to take charge, "I assume your husband is doing important work for his job. If it is something that can wait, then he can come out and join us. Some of these products that we will be selling you today must be chosen wisely, especially if it depends on how much money you have to buy them yourselves. If you buy it without telling your husband, it's possible that he might not be too happy about it, just like my partner has described. This will be worth both of your time, I promise."
Katie's mom seemed to consider this, and all of the young teenagers were hoping that she would accept their offer so their plan could continue. She didn't speak for a little while.
Nick smiled, "If you need to talk this over with your husband, that's fine. We'll be waiting for you here. I promise that we won't go anywhere until you have made your final decision."
Katie's mom nodded, "Alright. I'll go talk to him, and report to you children when I return," she walked back to her house, and shut the door on them.
Maggie sighed, "Great... She might not even come back now that she shut the door."
"There's still a chance that she'll bring her husband out."
Maggie turned to him, uncertain, "How do you know?"
He focused his vision towards the door, "I just know."

"Who was that?"
"Some stupid teenagers that want our money I bet."
"We won't let them have it."
"That's why I left and shut the door on them."
"Did they say what they were selling to us?"
"No, they did not."
"Did you even ask?"
"Nope. I don't need to. It's probably junk just like them."
Katie's father chuckled, "Yeah, probably. Let's ignore them. They'll leave eventually."
Her mother nodded, "Yes, I was thinking the same thing. Teenagers these days are so impatient that they won't even last a few minutes."
He nodded and smirked, "Let's get back to Katie."
"Have you done anything to her while I was gone?"
"Of course," his smirk grew wider. "Of course. Why wouldn't I?"
"Good. What have you done with her so far?"
"Spanked her mostly, and forced her to act like someone who she really isn't, as well as preparing her for what we have in store for her next."
Her mother grinned, "This will be fun."

All three teenagers could hear screaming from one of the rooms upstairs. The screaming sounded fearful and painful. They all were hurt by her screaming, but Thomas felt a burning rage blazing in his stomach. Her screams broke him as much as it broke her. He wished that she didn't have to scream constantly from abusive parents. He wanted to go in there and give her parents what he felt like they deserved. His fists tightened, willing to do anything for Katie, even if it meant risking his own life for her.
Thomas felt impatient, but knew he had to be if this plan was ever going to work. He constantly heard screams, and it only stabbed his heart more each time. I can't wait to finally save her from all of the pain that she has been going through. I want to be able to hold her in my arms as she breaks. I want her to allow herself to let this all go. I want her to be happy and free again.
He looked at his friends, leaving the trance that get him willpower to fight and keep going. So far, no one seemed to be returning to the door. He hoped that someone would return in time before the night ended. He decided to sit down, despite knowing that he would have dirty pants that would be stained for who knows how long. He wanted to close his eyes, but he refused to. He wanted to do anything else that would distract him from the agony of waiting, and the screams that pierced his ears.
His friends were more patient than he was, either that, or hiding it much better than he is right now. He couldn't help but look at them, they were whispering to each other about something. He was curious if he wanted to know what they were talking about or not. He sighed. Probably not.

"Do you think that this is actually going to work?" Maggie whispered to Nick. She wasn't sure how much longer before she started losing hope in all of this. She loved Katie like a sister, but she wasn't wanting anyone else to get hurt again. There have been many times that she normally wouldn't admit it to herself, but she was afraid. She was afraid of losing her sister, and all of her best friends. She was tired of others becoming hurt. She just wished that all of this would just end. That all of this would just be happy and joyful, and everything and everyone would be fine once and for all.
Nick bit his lip, "Yes. This will work. We'll make sure that this works."
Maggie looked at him uncertain, "I can tell that you're lying. You don't have to tell me, Nick. If this isn't going to work, let me know. Maybe we can figure something out."
Nick sighed and nodded, "Alright. I will. L-Let's just make sure they come back. Alright?"
She nodded and sighed as well, "Alright. Thank you," she kept on nodding, not knowing what else to say.
Nick looked at Maggie thoughtfully, "Maggie-"
Maggie put her hand up, "Nick, now is not the time for this. We need to finish this. We need to save Katie, and make sure that no one else will get hurt."
He nodded, "You're right. We need to do this. We should go knock again, to let them know that we are still here, and that we're never leaving until they come out. Until we can get Katie back again."

"They're not leaving," Katie's mom looked out of the window.
"What do you mean they're not leaving?"
"I mean, they're not leaving!" She snapped. "Those stupid kids are still outside our door."
"They're not leaving without a fight, huh?" He smirked. "Then we'll just have to give them one."
"What about Katie? She knocked out for now, but we can't just leave her here. One of us must go."
"Didn't you mention that they wanted both of us?"
"Yes, but you never know what kids want to do nowadays if both people are distracted. You never know if they're going to cause mischief or not."
She put a hand on her hip, "I'm betting you that they are. Don't fall for their tricks, and certainly don't trust them."
He nodded, "Sounds like a plan to me. Besides, I want to make sure Katie keeps screaming until she breaks and only wants more. Come join me in making sure that this happens."
She grinned, "Sounds good to me, boss," she laughed softly. "Her pain is my pleasure."
He chuckled, "It is with me as well. Trust me. I take much pleasure in knowing that she isn't satisfied with herself, and how others think of her."
"Why did we even have her anyway? It would have been way easier without her in our lives."
"You know why we've done what we've done. To help make her life miserable. No one deserves happiness. They only need to learn of the pain that we have gone through. Once we have that, the world will be a better place because of it. Knowing that she thinks so low of herself only makes things better for us. This is our purpose in life. It will always be our purpose in life."
She nodded, "I understand. I don't mind this life. It doesn't get boring to me. The only time it's boring is when she's not around at school, or wherever the heck she goes after school. That's none of our business."
He chuckled, "Oh, but she is our business. Remember? We get to control who she is, and if she can have friends or not. We even control where she goes to school. We control her whole life basically! She won't be able to choose anything. One day when we are gone, she won't know what to do, and she'll be constantly falling down until she dies."
Katie's mother laughed, "That is true. She won't know what to do with herself. She'll just have her addictions that we have given her, and she will lust without even meaning to. It's perfect! Absolutely perfect!" She laughed more, as well as her husband. "Is she prepared and fully ready for code "let it rain" yet? She better be?"
He nodded as he smirked, "Yes, right this way."
******************************************************************************
Katie heard her parents walk in on her, and she pulled a blanket over her, too embarrassed of showing herself to them. She knew that code "let it rain" was about to start, and she wasn't excited about it. She just knew that it was only going to ruin her innocence more and more as time went by. She remembered when it first happened. When she lost the first piece of her innocence. She puked up everything, and was as fragile as a butterfly.
Katie held her breath, wishing that she could just pass out right about now. She bled at least a little from head to toe, gritting her teeth from leaking from her eyes. Her eyes were shut tight. She was ready to be taken away by angels. Angels that would help her defeat the pending time of life that could finally end forever. She accepted her fate for what felt like the last time.
She looked back at her parents with a small smile. At least I won't have to deal with you two ever again. That's always something to look forward to. She didn't have to open her eyes to know what would happen next. All she needed to know was the sounds and conversation that they attempted to have with her. This time, she was planning to refuse to talk, even if it meant more beatings and worse of code "let it rain" for her. She believed that this was worth it all.
"Ready Katie?" Her mother's voice echoed through her brain, and she chose not to answer.
"I said ready, Katie?"
Still no answer. That was when Katie felt a big old slap knocked the breath out of her lungs for good, and she hoped that she would actually pass out soon. Ragged breaths escaped her lungs, and she forced herself to not attempt to breathe again, and she was glad at that time that her parents didn't care if she died or not. Everything around her started silencing until she couldn't hear them anymore as minutes passed. She then knew, that she wasn't in the world for a short time before she woke up again.
