Chapter 3
"Uggg...." Camom groans as he, once again, hits the floor. It was his tenth try at fighting me. He's still losing. "I can make such good weapons, but I can never use them properly." He states, trying to make a joke. After a half a second of silence, I force out a chuckle. I need to help lift his spirits.
I hold out a hand for him to take it, he does so. "Do you want to try again?" I ask, helping him to his feet.
"Nah, it's almost lunch anyway. I want to go smelt a few things before I go to lunch." He replies before starting off to his cabin.
"Alright." I call out after him. Well what to do now? I could practice some more, but should I? It's almost lunch time.
"Hey," I hear a familiar voice call out. I turn towards the sound. It's Will. He's wearing the orange Camp Half-Blood t-shirt with jeans that come to his knees.
"Hi Will, how are you?" I ask, curious.
"Fine," He replies. "Here," he adds, holding out a water bottle for me. I take the bottle with saying a quick thank you. I then take a drink of water.
"I enjoyed last night," He says casually. Memories of last night come into my head in waves. The stars, sitting on the cabin roof. Talking to him, the comfort of each other.
"I did to," I reply after a few seconds of silence. Will smiles kindly at that.
"Do you want to do it again soon?" He wonders.
"If we do the same thing, it'll become regular thing and it'll never be something special." I reply, after giving it some thought. Will nods at this.
"True, than do you want to do something tonight?" He asks, "Besides sitting on the roof," he adds after I give him a 'did you even listen to me' look.
"Alright," I answer after a couple seconds of silence. "Tonight? Where?" I then ask.
After giving it some thought, he responds, "How about your cabin? There will be no one else there, unlike my cabin."
"Sure, I'm good with that." I answer almost immediately after him. I give a small smile after I reply to.
"Alright, Tonight at your cabin," He confirms. "I'll be there."
"You better," I answer teasingly. Will starts to walk towards the infirmary after our conversation. I turn to leave the training area. As I walked out, I look around at all the other campers training. Some Athena and Ares kids were sword fighting. There were also some Apollo campers shooting at targets. Sighing, I walk out and go to another activity. Gods, I'm excited for tonight.
-*~*- That Night -*~*-
I am at the back of the Hades cabin. There was a small breeze, the trees were waving in the wind just slightly. Not enough to make a lot of sound but enough to notice. It was a cool day, not to hot and not to cold. Warm, maybe. But it felt just right. Hearing footsteps, I turn towards the noise. It was Will.
"Hey," I call out, the word traveling on the wind.
"Hey Nico," He replies as he comes up to stand next to me. We look out to the woods on one side and the fields on the other. The neat and orderly leaves poking up in rows go on and on, farther and farther away from Will and I.
"It's calming, isn't it? The trees rustling in the wind, the calming sunset." Will comments, turning towards me when he describes each detail.
"Yeah, it is. It just seems perfect. A calm before the storm." I reply. Will turns back and faces the scenery.
"What? The storm of the whole camp waking up?' Will teases.
I turn towards him. "Wow Will. What a way to ruin the mood." I reply, trying to keep my voice steady, but failing. We start laughing.
A little while after we finally stop laughing, "What do you want to do? Sit out here and watch everything with blankets?" Will states, changing the subject.
"If that's what you want to do," I answer, a smile tugging slightly on my face.
"Ok, than that's what we'll do." Will confirms, "Do you have blankets in your cabin?" He adds.
"Yeah, let me get them." I reply, turning to go into the cabin to get blankets.
"Alright," Will calls, as I walk into the cabin to get a few blankets. I walk in, and open a cabinet. I then grab three blankets and stack them up on top of each other and carry them back outside to Will. There was a red plaid blanket, a Camp Half-Blood orange blanket, and a gray blanket.
"Here, choose one." I state, holding out the three blankets for Will to choose. Will picks the red plaid blanket. I choose the gray blanket. We put the orange blanket in the middle. We sit down, on the orange blanket, and wrap ourselves in our chosen blanket.
We watched the sunset until it went all the way down. It was peaceful, nothing to disturb us. No quest to go on or worry about. No other campers to worry about. Nothing to think about except each other. I liked it. I would love to do it more often with Will, if possible.
We stay there way after the sun sets. Then Will feels something. "I think I felt a raindrop." he comments. "Should we go on the porch?" He then asks. The porch has a roof, so no rain can fall on campers when they want to be outside but not wet. I find it comes in handy on situations like these.
"Okay," I reply, getting up with my blanket still wrapped around me.
"Let's go under the porch and watch the rain fall." Will then declares, also getting up with his blanket wrapped around him. He then picks up the orange blanket and follows me to the porch. Upon getting to the porch, we sit on the wooden outdoor couch with our blankets draping on top of us. We decided to sit on the orange blanket, like we did on the grass. We then curl up, together, and watch the rain fall.
At some point the rainstom turns into a thunderstorm. I have no idea when, but it did. I got a little spooked out when I first realized, but Will calmed me down.
Pit...Patter...Pit...Patter...
The rain falls, making a small sound when hitting the ground.
Pit...Patter...Pit...Patter...
The sound is calming in a way. How though? It comes from Zeus, and I fear Zeus. But, why does this not seem that fearful? I only feel calm, nothing else.
Crackleeeeee.
The sound of storm clouds. Dark and menacing, but also anticipating.
Zapppppp.
It was the sound of a lightning's crack. I watched as the bolt hit the ground, making the area around it seem to go dark. Making the sky light up, but only for a second.
How calming it all is, but also exciting. As if it's waiting for something, but it's not here yet. Turning to look at Will, I have a thought. A stupid thought. A thought that will ruin everything. But, a thought all the same. Should I go through with this thought? Or should I not? I feel like I should, but at the same time it doesn't feel right. As if I'll be missing something, but also finding something that is equally good. Should I go through or not? I have no idea.
After taking what felt like forever, which only was probably two seconds, I decide. I'm going to follow through with this stupid idiotic thought of mine.
Will noticed now that I have been staring at him. 'Why are you staring at me?' he said, his face growing red. I did it then. What better time? Well, there could have been a better time, but I choose this moment to go with my instincts.
I inched closer, like a caterpillar. Closer and closer until I was a few inches from his face. Well, there's no turning back now. I then press my lips against his. Wow...what a wonderful feeling it is. His cool lips pressed against my burning, hot one. Evening each other's heat temperature out, but at the same time making it all but obvious. Like fire and ice colliding, canceling each other out. Time seemed to stop. All I could feel is his lips against mine. The joy, the happiness. But at the same time, I had my worries and doubts. Was this the right choice? Should I have waited? Or was it the perfect time?
At some point I must have closed my eyes, I don't know when but I did. When I opened them I find Will looking at me with a look in his eyes. What is that look? Sadness? Regret? No, it's happy. Joyful? Wait... it was that look. I have seen it too many times to count. I've seen it in many people. It's a look of pure love.
I slowly pulled away. As much as I of me wanted to stay on his lips, I know it was the right thing to do. But even with these feelings, I still feel like I regret it. Was it the right decision? Or did I mess everything up? I'm not really sure.
"That was..." Will starts, but trails off. "Good." He finally finishes, after a few seconds of silence. "I liked it.... If that's the right thing to say," he then adds, kind of timidly.
I let out a breath. He isn't hating it. That's good. I thought I screwed everything up. But apparently, I didn't. "I think that's an appropriate thing to say." I reply, looking at him once more.
"If you say so." He answers, trying to keep the conversation light. I didn't know what to say to this. Should I change the subject? Or should I keep going with this one? If I change the subject what would I change it to? And, if I keep this one going what should I say next?
Thoughts were whirling through my head. Will seems to realize this because he says, "You know what Nico, I think you should stop thinking and just start doing. If you keep thinking everything though than you'll miss chances that could get you in amazing places. You need to let go a little." He declares softly.
"Yeah...Let go a little." I reply, restating his last sentence. I then let out a small smile.
The next few hours went by fast. Will and I cuddled together watching the thunderstorm, and must have fallen asleep at some point because the next thing we knew, the sun was coming up.
Saying our goodbyes, Will left to go back to his cabin, as if he never left. I picked up the blankets and went back inside. I stack the now dirty blankets next the the laundry bin, so I remember to wash them when I do laundry. I then quickly look at the clock. It read 5:30. Even though I just woke up, I think I could sleep for a few more hours. Getting in bed, I start to fall back asleep. My last thoughts before drifting off was 'I hope Percy doesn't try to wake me up again.'
I hope you enjoyed this chapter of Lost Memories. I needed to add some Will and Nico time together before the quest starts. XD I love them to much to not do that. Next chapter will be up next week.
