Chapter 9: Effect Of A Love Potion- Part One

GOHAN'S P.O.V

"It's just strange you know, Nimbus." I speak to the yellow cloud while riding it to school. I was weaing my regular clothes with the white shirt, black vest, red pants, and black shoes. "How can Tania have a fever so high?"

Since Nimbus is a cloud, it obviously can't speak. I sighed and just decided to just daydream over about what my girlfriend wrote me back the other day.

I probably read over her letter a hundred times already since then. I just can't stop smiling about it. Hehe, maybe it's not such a bad idea to let everyone know that we're dating. Man, I can't wait to hold her in my arms in front of everyone! Sharpner will defintiely be jealous that's for sure. Erasa may probably be too but I think she's got her eye on Ren so that's unlikely. And Videl...

I scratched my head and began to think about the champion's daughter.

Who does she like?

"Uhhh..." I begin to ponder about her love life.

I see guys always trying to ask for her number but she seems to always reject them. Maybe she's not the lovey-dovey type?

"Kinda reminds me of Tania when she didn't want to confess her love for me back when I was fourteen." I say while yawning and stretching my arms over my head.

She may had trouble saying her feelings to me with her words but thankfully I wasn't as naive as my father when it comes to reading a girl's body language hehe. Even if I couldn't read her body language, her facial expessions are a dead give away. Yeah, i'll never forget the way she looked at me when I first told her I was in love wuth her.

"I love her." I smile widely as the wind blew my hair back softly.

Nimbus was beginning to slow down. Looking down I saw Hercule City and no signs of any crimes. Seemed peaceful. I was about to have Nimbus fly a bit more further closer to my school but something caught my eye.

"Wha- Tania?!" My eyes widen once I seen the girl walking down the sidewalk.

She's not suppose to be here? She should be in bed.

"Sorry Nimbus, but I gotta get off here." I jump off the cloud while waving. "Thanks for the ride buddy!"

Upon landing, I began running towards my girlfriend. "Tania! Tania!"

The girl turned around when she heard me call her name. I managed to catch up to her.

"Gohan?"

"Hey, what in the world are you doing here? You should still be in bed like you was yesterday. I'm sure missing two days of school won't be too major." I say to her.

Tania glances at me before resuming her walk. "I'm fine, Gohan."

I followed close to her. I looked at the kind of clothing she was wearing. It seemed as if she just got out of bed with pajama clothing still on her.

She doesn't even wear sweatpants and over-sized t-shirts too often. Well, atleast not to school she doesn't.

And then there was her hair. It hardly looked as combed as it usual is. It was in a sloppy ponytail. Her face looked completely tired and drained, but her eyes... They seemed so full of life and she wouldn't stop smiling. However, despite all of this, I still thought she looked great.

"Are you sure? I'm pretty sure someone with that kind of fever should be out for days... Maybe even weeks!"

"Listen, i'm just fine. If I wasn't then I would still be in bed." Tania says without looking at me.

I just sighed. "If you say so. However, if I sense something fishy, we're going right back to Bulma's!"

"Whatever." Tania shrugs her shoulders. "I just wanna get to school right now. I can't wait! I'm so happy."

"For what?"

Tania grinned widely at me. Her cheeks were beginning to look flushed. Memories of what the girl said came back to me.

"Lets tell everybody."

I stared down at the sidewalk and blinked a few times.

How exactly am I going to tell everyone? Do I just blurt out, "HEY! Tania and I are dating!"?, or what?

"Gohan?" I hear Tania call.

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at her. "Yeah? What is it?"

"Sharpner... He's coming to school today, isn't he?"

"I don't know. We'll find out when we get to english." I tell her.

Tania then yanked onto my arm. "Well at this pace, I won't be able to get to class in time! You still got one of those vehicles in your capsules?"

I nodded and took the capsule container out. "Yeah. I do."

"Great." She smiles and takes a look at the open container. "You can just drive us right up there then."

When I hesitated to throw one dinocap into the street, Tania appeared to look impatient. "Well... What are you waiting for?"

I rubbed my head with my right arm. "Wouldn't you rather... hold hands and walk to school with me. I know we have plenty of time to get there on schedule."

Tania raised an eyebrow. "Hold hands with you?"

I felt myself blushing a bit. "Yeah. I mean, we did agreed to let everyone know about us, remember? I just thought one easy and obvious way was to just hold hands. That way, everyone is bound to think something is up."

Tania blinked.

I smiled warmly and gently grabbed her left hand. When I did this, Tania smiled adoringly at me but a few seconds later, her eyes glowed pink then it quickly went back to its original color. Tania's smile dropped and she pulled her hand away from mines.

"I-I gotta go. Excuse me."

Tania then begins to run off away from me.

"Tania! W-Wait!" I call out for her as I watch her take off towards the direction of our school. Before I knew it, she was just gone from out of my sight.

"Oh no..." I sigh. "Did I do something bad and she's mad at me for it?"

I then looked at the people around me. Everyone wasn't doing anything stange or suspicious.

Ah maaan... still no criminals to put into cuffs. Oh well, i'll just kill some time and eat some more breakfast at school.

SHARPNER'S P.O.V

"What dude? The Great Singing Man?"

"Uh huh." Jeremy nods his head while he closed his locker that was to the right from mine. "They say this dude and some other chick named The Great WonderWoman or something like that came and beat some bad dudes up pretty bad a few days ago."

"Ohh reeeally?" I smirk while laying back onto my locker.

The brown-haired boy nodded. I only chuckled.

"And why should this be of any importance to me?"

Jeremy snorted. "I just thought that you would like to know. I heard Videl was at the scene of the crime around the time those two showed up."

"Videl was?"

"Yeah."

I crossed my arms and frowned.

That darn Videl!

I began to grit my teeth and close my eyes.

I can still feel the hurt and embarrassment you caused me last year.

"Videl... Hey, i'm sorry." I chased after my friend after she walked out of the city's mall.

"Sorry? You're sorry?!" The pig-tailed girl turns to face me while crossing her arms.

I knew I made her extremely mad. I could only nod.

"Do you have any idea how much it meant for me to get the crooks inside there without having someone to slow me down?" Videl throws her hands up angrily. "Sharpner, you didn't even try to atleast move that little girl out of the way when those thugs were about to trample over her while they were escaping. To make things worse, some elderly woman had to do it. The two almost got killed."

"I know. I feel awful about it but still... I had to save myself. They had guns, Videl."  I attempt to defend myself.

"Listen, you ask me out all the time and yet you expect me to say yes? How can I agree to that when you're not even selfless towards others?"

I furrowed my eyebrows. "What are you saying, Videl?"

"I'm saying you're selfish!"

"Oh please, you know that's not true." I tuck my hair behind my ear.

People in the area were trying to get pictures of the recent crime that had happened in the mall while a few of them just surrounded Videl and I, listening to our conversation. It's not everyday that they get to see the daughter of the man who beat Cell. I looked around me then spread my arms to the side and grinned.

"I care about all these people whether you believe it or not."

"Well then I don't! See ya later, coward." Videl then walks off, leaving the crowd to yell and laugh at me.

I brought my arms back slowly down. I tightened my fists in a ball while my teeth pushed itself against one another. Her words and her actions had made me feel like a complete waste of a person.

However, even though she insulted me the way that she did back in freshmen year, I still attempted to get her to change her mind into dating me several more times.

'Hey uh... Sharpner?" Someone shakes my arm.

I didn't reply and just kept my eyes closed, reflecting over Videl's attitude towards me.

How dare she treat me the way she does. Many girls wouldn't even hesitate to go on a date with me. For crying out loud, even Erasa went on a date to Dream Land with me a while ago. Hmm, Dream Land.

I began to remember very important details back at that amusement park.

I swear that girl who had that tail and sword looked like Tania. She says that I must be mistaking her for someone else but she may have a point... Why would she have a tail like some kind of monkey? And that sword... I'm not even gonna get there! I know I may be wrong about that girl being Tania but... AH! WAIT A SEC!  I... I remember!

"So after this, we should get on another roller coaster than after that..." Erasa continues to talk while I just strapped myself in the second row of the Ride Of A Lifetime roller coaster ride. The two people who I believed appeared magically behind Erasa and I stepped into the first row in front of us. I raised my eyebrow at the girl with black hair when I saw her bring in that sheath with her.

Isn't that suppose to be put somewhere else? How did she get pass security with that thing on in the first place?

I could see that guy with the black spiky hair sitting next to the girl smiling as he grabbed onto her hand.

"I'm right here, Tania." He says to her after seeing her trembling.

Since I didn't think I was never gonna see anyone from that roller coaster ride ever again, I minded my own business.

*****

My eyes shot open.

"IT WAS HER!"

"Who are you talking about?" A sweet voice enters into my hearing.

I looked down to see Tania holding onto my arms.

"AH!" I nearly slam into my locker. "T-Tania... What are you doing here?!"

"I came to see you of course." She smiles kindly.

My breathing began getting harder, sweat was dripping from my forehead, her random appearance creeped me out.

Jeremy began to stare at Tania.

"Woah. Tania did you just come out of bed and came to school without getting ready?" The brown-haired kid asks. "You look like a hot me-"

I covered Jeremy's mouth with my hand. He tried to speak still. When he tried to do that though, I shot him a glare to shut him up.  

"What he was trying to say is... You look great." I speak to my crush.

"I never sa-"

I stomp on the little geek's foot. He let out a yelp and brought his foot up to his hand while bouncing.

Tania payed no attention to him and instead hooked her arm around mines. Blood rushed up to my face when she did this. I rubbed my finger against my nose and looked up.

A-ALRIGHT! That potion seems to be finally taking effect like Ren said it would.

"Lets get to english class right now. We don't wanna be late." The teen begins to walk with me in the hall.

Everyone began turning their heads when they saw Tania and I walking past them.

"Sharpner!" One of my jock friend yells. "You got the girl?!"

I raised my thumb up high. "I think so, man!"

Tania rubbed her cheek against my arm. "You do."

 At that moment, blood shot out of my nose. I hurried and threw my right hand over i.

Jeremy stared wide-eyed at Tania and I as soon as he catched up to us. "Wait a minute. When did you two become an item?"

"A few months ago." Tania answers.

"Few months?" Jeremy and I repeat.

"Yeah." She nods. "Don't be silly, Sharpner. Remember, we wanted everyone to know about us?"

Though I had no idea what in the world she was talking about, I just nodded my head anyways. "O-Of course."

"Why didn't you say anything to me, man?" Jeremy nudges me on the arm.

"It was a surprise." Tania replies to Jeremy.

"Gotcha." The geek snorts.

Upon arriving from the back door in our homeroom, Tania and I took our seat. Everyone who was currently in there gawked at us much like the people in the halls did. However, they didn't speak a word until we appeared comfy.

"Hey Sharpner." Erasa stares at Tania and I. "Why was you and Tania just-"

"They're a couple." Jeremy looks behind him.

"Whaaaat?" Erasa gasps. The blonde then patted Videl's shoulder. "Did you hear that?"

"Yeah." Videl nods. The champion's daughter crossed her arms and shot me a glare.

I ran my fingers through my hair. "Videl, I tried to tell you but you just wouldn't listen. I bet you're jealous and deeply regret rejecting me right now."

"Actually..." She smirks. "I was just wondering how you got Tania to be your girlfriend. What did you do to her?"

"Ugh! How dare you accuse of me of doing something to her, Videl. The only thing I did to her was make her fall in love with me."

"The question is 'how?' Sharpner."

I grabbed Tania's hand from under the desk. She blushed and smiled while looking down at her lap. I then realized that Gohan wasn't in the classroom.

"Hey, has anyone seen-"

The door swung open. Gohan let out a sigh and came rushing towards his seat.

"Unbelievable. I can't believe I made it on time. I really underestimated how long it would take for me to eat breakfast." The spiky-haired boy sits down at his seat and proceeds to take out his materials for the class.

"Gohan, you know me and your cousin got tog- mhmmm" I was about to tell Nerd Boy the good news but Pretty Boy threw his hand over my mouth.

"Be quiet, Sharpner." He tells me.

I yanked his arm off me. "Lay off, dude!"

"There's something I gotta tell you." Ren whispers in my ear. "It's pretty important. It's about that love potion. It has some kind of side effect to it. It's pretty bad."

"What?!" I yell. I then grabbed onto Ren's collar. "Pretty Boy, why didn't you tell me this before?! I should knock you out of your misery."

"Hey!" Mr. Crayer slams his ruler down on the podium in the front of the room. He then pointed it at Ren and I. "You two boys stop it! I can't have you two distracting my other students."

"You talk to me like that, Sharpner? Ha! If you know what's good for you, I suggest you better listen to him or else i'll tell everyone, especially Gohan, what you poured into Tania's water bottle two days ago." Ren threatens me with a lowered voice.

I frowned then released the guy. The girls in the room gasped and asked the big mouth if he was alright. Tania gently pulled at my sleeve.

"Sharpner... Are you alright?" She asks cutely.

I quickly bring her hand to my cheek and rubbed it against her smooth skin. "Yes. I'm definetely alright, my dear. Don't worry at all about me."

"Okay. I'm sorry for asking then." She replies.

Sooooo nice and innocent! I can see why Gohan tries so hard to protect her from the wrong types of men. Lucky for him, he can relax cause I am the right guy for her.

I then noticed Gohan's eyes staring right at me. His eyes looked especially fixed on my hands holding onto Tania's.

"You got a problem there, Nerd Boy?" I decide to ask Tania's cousin.

GOHAN'S P.O.V

I stared at Tania's hand in Sharpner's.

"Sharpner, why are you squeezing onto her hand?" I give my response to his question to me.

"Why not?" Erasa follows with another question. "Gohan, I thought you aleady knew that he and Tania are-"

Mr. Crayer suddenly appeared in front of our faces. His facial expression was grave enough to give even the strongest man alive the chills.

"After all i've done fo you people." Mr. Crayer speaks.

Everyone in my row exchanged looks. It was clear we didn't know what the teacher's problem was.

"Sir, is there something wrong?" I ask out of concern.

"YES!" He slams his two hands down on my area. Erasa screamed when he did this.

"W-What is it then?" I keep my focus on my teacher.

The older gentleman placed his hand on my shoulder. "Son, you need to report to the front of the class with Sharpner and Tania."

"Oh yeah... Sure, Mr. Crayer."

I pushed myself from out my seat and began walking down the steps.

Phew. I thought something was wrong with the guy.

When I turned to face the class. I immediately became aware of Sharpner smirking and still holding my girlfriend's hand while they descended down. As they did this, everyone's eyes turned and with a gasp, they then began to whisper quitely to one another.

I felt a nasty knot in my stomach when I saw this.

Why in the world is Sharpner still not letting go of Tania? I thought I already told him that she's not interested in him.

I felt my teeth slightly bit my lip. Tania wasn't showing any signs of resistance or discomfort.

This is strange... She looks as if she has no problem with it at all.

 I took my teeth off my bottom lip and instead rubbed the back of my head.

Maybe there's a reason for this?

Mr. Crayer appoached the three of us once he got down the stairs. He cleared his throat and faced the rest of the class.

"Now..." He begins. "Will you all tell me what is so important that you all feel the need to talk while i'm teaching?"

Everyone began to look to one another. No one said a word.

"Nobody knows, eh?" Mr. Crayer crosses his arms. He then glanced at the people beside him. "I brought these three down here because their names are constantly being spilled out of your mouths."

"What? Us? What did we do?" I speak up.

"That's what i'm trying to figure out, Son."

Sharpner and Tania were no longer holding hands. I let myself relax and just waited to be called back to my seat.

'Well..." Mr. Crayer prattles on. "Are any of you going to tell me what's going on or do I have to assign a large project worth half your grade that will be presented by yourself tomorrow?"

 At this, the class began to sigh, roll their eyes, complain, and pout.

Suddenly, Erasa stood out of her seat. The teacher took an interest in her action. It was clear that he wanted her to be the one to speak up.

"I'm only doing this because this is just so out of the blue." The blonde girl speaks in her typical high pitched voice. She then pointed at Sharpner and Tania announcing, "Those two right there are dating!"

"WHAAAT?!" I look back and forth at Sharpner and Tania then Erasa. "N-No way."

"It's true though, Gohan." Jeremy snorts while pushing up his glasses. "Sharpner, tell him."

Calmly and confidently, Sharpner made his way over to me saying, "Listen man, I really wanted to tell you this earlier, but I didn't exactly know what to say."

T-That can't be... i'm Tania's boyfriend.

I looked at the girl standing a bit behind Sharpner and gave her a bewildered look.

"We've been dating for a few months now." Tania speaks up, completely stunning me.

"You're not serious, Tania?!"

"Of course I am." She smiles.

My heart felt like it just drowned in a volcano filled with lava.

"B-But... I'M YOUR BOYFRIEND!" I say loud and clear so that everyone in the class can hear me.

They all gasped.

"Oh my goodness!" Erasa  screams.

"AH!" Videl slams her hands on the table and stands out of her chair.

Sharpner seemed very shaken up.

"I get it now! Y-You were at Dream Land with her, weren't you? The boy with the wild hair."

"That's right!" I nod. "Tania's my girlfriend!"

Suddenly, a group of people from random parts of the room began cracking up.

"Yo, that's wrong dude!" A student shouts out.

"You can't be dating your cousin, man." Another says.

"Yuck!" Angela comments. She raced down the steps and faced me. "Stop joking around, Gohan. You know i'm your real girlfriend."

"M-My girlfriend?!" I feel a shiver run up my spine.

"Yeah, of course."

"I hardly even know you, Angela." I respond.

"You know enough about me." The purple-eyed girl then hugs me tightly.

"GAAHH!" I squirm around, hoping to get the girl off me. My elbows were bended and I lift them up a bit high. I made sure not to touch her.

"Wait." Sharpner gazes at Angela and I. "So you guys are going out?"

"Mhm." Angela nods her head.

"Oh, so then this whole thing Gohan pulled was just an act then?" Erasa asks the class. She was very naive.

"Must be." Ren smirks down at everyone in the front of the room. For some reason, I was getting a strange vibe from him. Almost like he knew what was going on around here.

Before I could get a word in, Tania has Sharpner face her and she begins to lean towards his lips. Sharpner began to look equally excited and nervous when he saw this. He did though, try to cover up his nervousness by tossing his hair over his shoulder and smirking before closing his eyes. They inched closer and closer until...

"STOP!" I yell. I then gently removed Angela off of me and rushed over to Tania, grabbed her hand and stormed out of the classroom until we were some ways away from it.

"O-Ow. You're hurting my hand." Tania says as we made it to our destination.

I dropped her hand.

"Tania, what in the world are you doing?" I ask her.

"What i'm doing? What about you?! You're the one getting all dramatic and yanking onto my hand." She responds while shaking and blowing on her hand.

"Okay, i'm sorry about doing that but I really needed to talk to you alone. What are you doing pretending to be Sharpner's girlfriend?! We never agreed to doing this."

"I'm not pretending, Gohan! I'm his girlfriend. Why do you even care anyways? You're a player!"

This comment made me as confused as a lost sheep trying to relocate its shepherd.

"Me? A player?"

"Yes. Don't you remember when Videl pointed you out as one when we were all hanging out at Erasa's?! You tried to land yourself a date with me but I refused. It was really relieving when Sharpner slapped your hand off mines too. I felt so protected."

I immediately threw my arms to the side in opposing directions. "That was Shapner that was trying to hit on you. I was the one who slapped his hand off yours. He's the real player, not me. I love you, Tania. I would never even dare to think to hit on other girls."

Just like earlier while walking to school, Tania's eyes glowed pink momentarily before returning back to normal.

What was that in her eyes...?

"I love Sharpner. He was with me even before school started. I only saw you at Dream Land with Erasa and here at school." Tania gives me a serious look.

What is she talking about? It sounds almost as if she got me and Sharpner mixed up. But how?

I curled my fists up and could feel a large lump in my throat. My mind was thinking of every possible explanation for her actions. W-What if she's pretending to have us mixed up? That would mean that-

"Tania... H-Have you been cheating on me this entire time?"

The girl gazed at me for a few seconds, looked into my eyes and finally said...

A/N- WELL! That's the end of that lmbo I did you guys wrong by leaving a cliffhanger. Hope yall can forgive me teehee. Anyways, if anyone is wondering: Yes, the plotline for this story is still going to be what it says in the summary of my book. Don't go thinking I suddenly just switched things around. I'm not that type of person to do that. Hopefully you guys enjoyed reading anyways.
