Part 3; Chapter 1 - Stress
(Heya guys! Happy Wednesday! After a month of hiatus, this book is back with Part 3!! This Part of the book is gonna be pretty interesting! With that said, on to the chapter!
TW-- smol panic attack)
=Elemental Steve's POV=
I watched the solvent eat away at the stone I had dropped into the brewing stand. The mundane potion started to bubble, the liquid carrying the stone dripping into the clear potion. I turned to my other brewing stand, placing the fermented spider eye in, watching it brew into the water bottle and the potion of poison.
I took the new potion of weakness and potion of harming out from that stand, before slowly pouring them over the remains of the stone on the top of the stand. The two liquids bubbled against each other and slid down the tube into the now black tinted mundane potion.
The stone wasn't just any stone, no, it was Shadow Stone. Nightmare had given it to me a while back, as a gift for helping him create his own dimension when he didn't live with me.
The potion was finished. I pulled the bottle out gingerly, then poured it into a more fragile bottle. I corked it, then set it gently in an item frame. My perfect solution to end my brother...
The Potion of Shadows...
=Sabre's POV=
I paced nervously in front of the house. It had been a week since Time was revealed as the good guy all along, and Elemental was still consistent with his visits. I had an odd feeling that he knew that Time had gotten us on his side, as he was acting oddly.
There was a quick flurry of lightning, Elemental appearing in front of the house. He glanced at me, but not in the kind, caring way he used to. His stare was hard and cold. He's just stressed about Time, that's all... I told myself.
Elemental walked into the house and into the livingroom, where my friends were seated. I sat between Rainbow and Shark as Elemental stood in front of us, my friends' conversations stopping.
There was no doubt that there was a nervous tension in the room as Elemental made eye contact with each and every one of us. "Sabre, you're trembling. Is something wrong?" He asked, his arms folding across his chest.
I noticed then that I had been shaking, due to being so nervous that he'd find out about Time. I bit the bottom of my lip to keep myself from rambling again, focusing on the slight pain.
"He had a nightmare last night.." Rainbow covered for me. "He's never really slept well, and sometimes he over thinks about certain situations, and that could send him into small panic attacks. Nothing too large, though."
I glanced at Rainbow as I hugged myself. He still barely knew human me. Maybe I was like this as a Blue Steve..
Elemental let out a scoff, then began walking back and forth in front of the couches. I sunk down into the cushions as my eyes followed him. "I've decided that we shall be fighting Time Steve soon. He is a pest that needs to be dealt with once and for all." He lectured.
I glanced down at the floor. I couldn't fight Time.. He was my friend... Rainbow took my hand. "Sabre," he whispered, "Do you need to be alone for a bit..?" I nodded. The stress about Elemental finding out about our alliance with Time had been eating at me for the past few days. Rainbow stood with me.
"Sabre and I are gonna be in our room for a bit, he needs some time alone right now.." He told Elemental. The tall Steve seemed to disapprove, but I was pulled away by my small friend anyways.
Rainbow brought me into our room and shut the door behind us. I had gone into a state of zoning out, not even realizing what Rainbow was saying until he took my hands in his.
"Wh-what..?" I asked. He sighed. "I was talking about how your Blue Steve self used to act like this. Whenever he got really stressed, he'd go all shakey and zone out. Sometimes his breathing would get fast." Rainbow told me, leading me to sit on the bed.
I laid down, staring off. "Sorry, it's just that I've been so stressed out.. You know why.." I mumbled. Rainbow nodded as he laid next to me. "Yeah, you've repeated it a lot." He said.
"How about you try to get some rest, huh?" He asked. I nodded a bit. I guess I needed it, after all, with my insomnia.
Rainbow pat me on the head, causing me to smile. "love you, Rainbow.." "What-" "Wait did I say that out loud-"
We laid there awkwardly for a moment. "Yeah, take that however you want to, goodnight-" I rushed out, before turning to the wall and curling up.
Rainbow burst into a fit of laughter. "I love you too, in a however-you-want-to-take-that way too!" He said. I could hear the smile in his voice as he laughed. I smiled to myself. Rainbow was the best thing that could have ever happened to me.
I was so lost in thought, that I didn't even realize that I had drifted to sleep.
