David’s POV

I woke up with a bounding headache and a bounding door as well, who’s knocking at my door now? And what time is it? It took me a couple of minutes to register where was I and then everything that happened came back like watching a video. I looked at the clock and it was afternoon. I slept a whole day!

The knocking kept going and I got up hastily to open it. It may be Jane!

“ Jane” I said when I opened the door.

“No actually, it’s Raf.” She said and her eyes showed the discomfort. “ I was worried about you, you didn’t answer your phone last night and I didn’t know if I should come or not. You know, after I got kicked out”

Rafaela was holding her hands together and shifting her legs repeatedly. I moved from the door and let her in. Now, I was just feeling pure guilt.

“ I didn’t mean to, of course I didn’t mean to. I was all upset and I just wanted to shut down and call it a day.”

Rafaela went inside the room and sat in the sofa in the corner, she didn’t look me in the eyes and was just silent. I walked to her and sat beside her.

“I am truly, madly, deeply sorry” I said while grapping her hand and looking at her so she can sense that I am indeed sorry.

“Oooh, you are aware that we don’t use the sacred 3 words unless we truly mean it.”

“You remember that?” I said while laughing. Saying” truly, madly, deeply” was our version of pinky promises and swearing to god. If you used those words, it means you are honest.

“As the kind and nice person I am, you are forgiven.” Rafaela said with a giggle and a smirk. “ Now, what are we going to do today?”

“We’re going to Jane’s”

“What? Again?” Rafaela got up from the sofa and was walking around in the room.

“Well, yeah. I didn’t get to meet her.”

“Yes, but then we met her FIANCEE.”

“No need to rub that in my face, Raf”

“I am not rubbing anything in your face, I said that as a fact. She’s engaged, what still do you want to do?”

“I came over to talk to her and I won’t let a minor obstacle get in the way.”

“Minor? The 6’ who opened the door wasn’t minor at all.”

“Don’t patronize me, if anything I might even be taller.”

“Yeah, you wish”

“Whose side are you on? You are MY friend, remember?”

“Yeah yeah, but that doesn’t makes him instantly ugly.”

“You think he’s hot?”

“Are you jealous?”

“What? NOO, I got nothing to worry about.”

“You sure about that buddy? I would be worried if I were you, they are living together, engaged as well, him opening the door with that amazing smile and lean yet muscular figure and….”

“Okay fine fine! I am jealous! Of course I am. If you are done crushing over him we need a plan to take him down.”

“To what?”

“You heard me.”

“What do you want to do?”

I smiled mischievously.

“I am bored.” Rafaela stated.

“What do you want to do more? You ate, listened to music and called some friends to pass time. I don’t know what else do you want to do.” I replied while looking out from the car’s window.

“I want to go do something fun! Like literally anything. We can’t just sit around in this car pushing our seats backwards and watching Jane’s house like a creepy stalker. And not too good of a stalker either. Like the car’s color is yellow. How could you get a car that’s yellow when we are aiming for camouflage?”

“You are over analyzing this, she won’t pay attention to the car if she got out of house. And that’s the only car they had on rental. I already booked it before flying here and I didn’t plan for stalking her, you know.”

“So now what? What are we exactly waiting for?”

“You asked me this hundred times, Raf! We are waiting for Ricky to leave the house so we could talk to Jane. How hard is it to understand this?”

“We can’t just sit here looking anxiously at their door, it’s been an hour and it sure as hell feels like eternity.”

“You are right, let’s talk”

“You can’t start a conversation with let’s talk, that’s a major red alarm”

“I didn’t mean it that way, I meant we can chat to pass time. So tell me, any love interests in the company?”

“You think I would crush on a work acquaintance? Come on! You know me better than that. I don’t poop where I eat. The words of the legendary Barney Stinson”

“You are taking life advice from Barney?”

“Just this one, and he has some solid theories if you ask me”

“He surely does.” I said with a chuckle, there’s no way you could watch that show and not fall in love with it.

“So, no. No love interests at all.”

“How come that from highschool you never had a real boyfriend, yeah sure you went on dates and got asked to prom and all those sort of stuff. But never a real thing, why is that?”

“uh? What? Uhh, I don’t know, now enough about me. How about your love interests?”

“You are trying to change the subject so bad that you actually forgot where are we and what are we doing?”

“Oh yeah, Jane. How did you guys break up anyways?”

“ I don’t want to talk about it, we just got in a bad fight.”

“Oh Dave look! Jane is leaving the house”

I looked back at the house at once and was about to get off the car, but Ricky was right behind her, Stupid Ricky.

It looks like we’re going to follow them.
