As they sat in your hospital room, it wasn't long before the silence was broken. "Toshinori, we'll leave you and Magnus to your daughter," Aizawa tones were as unreadable as ever, but it put a shocked look on Hitoshi's face as he wasn't ready to leave until you woke up.
"Dad...I want to make sure she is ok," it was in the most begging tone he'd heard his son ever have, especially at the age of 21.
"I know but...it's not our place," it was cold and stern, knowing that you were about to wake up with the mother of all headaches, but not only that, you were most likely about to find out how you had your heart crushed into a million pieces all over again. Aizawa didn't want to be there for that, of course, he wanted to thank you for saving his daughter, but if they were there for the tears it would set Hitoshi back by so much.
In the older man's eyes, he was doing this for the sake of his son's own mental state, as the breakup had come suddenly and it was clear that it was to protect those around you, not because you hadn't loved the people in the group. This is what had pissed Hitoshi off the most, that you'd not spoken to everyone but mostly to him, you didn't in his eyes love him enough to discuss your future. It was your way or the highway, breaking his heart that was already so fragile.
"Dad...where am I?" your tiny, croaky voice echoed through the tension that had built within the room, between father and son. As soon as you voice came to light, Hitoshi made a beeline to be within your field of vision. That way you had to see he was there, even though he still hated you, he never wanted this to happen, but deep down the love for you was still fresh.
"In the hospital...you had an accident," your dad and Gramps were at your bedside, with Hitoshi the other side.
"Ooshi?" your partially swollen eye, glanced over to the purple haired guy, who was hiding the look of relief on his face that you had seen him.
"Hey," acting as cool as ever, hiding the emotion behind his tired eyes, as you looked around the room.
"Where's Dabi? I was on my way to see Dabi...I don't understand...I hurt," you tried to move noticing your hand elevated.
"Hey squirt, sit still," your dad put a gentle hand on your lap, your gramps still unable to say anything. The memory of losing his daughter and wife were playing on his mind, that he could have lost you to. The normally strongest willed man in the room was on the brink of tears, whereas Aizawa looked on at the situation.
"Stay here...I'll go get the doctor." Aizawa commented before exiting the private room. It made you jump a little since he'd been in the background, that you'd not seen the man with black hair. Looking at Hitoshi, he wouldn't look you in the eyes, you couldn't seem to understand what was happening.
Before you can ask anything else, Aizawa returned with your personal doctor, Stein. "How you feeling?" the man came over, "I'm just going to check your vision," grabbing a little torch, he checked to make sure your pupils were dilating correctly, which to his relief they were. "Well that's a good sign, you were in a car accident and you may have a bit of memory loss, but don't worry. Your dad and Gramps will fill you in once you've had some rest," the man looked over his glasses at the two men.
It was clear neither of them wanted to remind you of the horrific break up with Dabi or how one of the girls he'd cheated on tried to kill you, about you dating ten different people at the same time and how the man who killed your mother tried to also kill you. It was still a bitter pill to take, so the fact you would have to relive those memories was heart breaking.
"Of course, we're hoping by telling you bit it will trigger your mind to remember the rest. So I advise just drip feeding little bits of information at a time," the doctor continued, whilst they listened to him explain that you would need to take pills to prevent seizures and it's possible that you may have to take these for the rest of your life depending how your brain heals.
Of course, the bruising, cuts and broken bones would heal within time, but the doctor recommended no work for a while. Not that you could remember being so involved with your dad's business, or with yours and Todoroki's business.
As the doctor came to the end of explaining what needed to happen, he took his leave from the room explaining depending on the recovery you would be in hospital for a couple of days before you could go home. That way they could monitor your situation, but one thing that had luckily been taken care of was the fact that for now the press weren't aware of the incident.
The man that had hit you was positively mortified of who'd he had hit with his car, let alone it was due to the fact that you had saved the girl and kitten. So, when your dad's lawyer called him, he was more than willing to not got to the press or speak to the anyone regarding the situation.
As the five of you sat there in silence, once the doctor left, it was you again that broke through with your sore voice. "I'm sorry...but I don't understand what happened? And why is Shota and Hitoshi here? I was on my way to see Dabi?" sounding tired and confused, they knew that it was best to rip the first painful plaster off your brain.
"Well, sweetie you see, how do I put this?" your dad looked at the men, when your gramps sighed.
"(f/n) you've forgotten quite a few years of memories, you're not 18, you're actually 21 this year," as your Gramps said it, you looked a little stunned, but no memories came flooding back, "Also, I don't want to hurt you sweetie, but you broke up with Dabi," it was dropped just like that.
"What? Why what did I do?" your eyes began to fill with tears, as if you'd been the one in the wrong. That is when you felt a different hand on your leg, your teary eyes turned to Hitoshi, who still wouldn't look you in the eyes but the anger on his face was present.
"You don't need to shed a tear for that asshole...he cheated on you. That's why you dumped his fuckin' ass," it was blunt, harsh but it wasn't enough to stop the tears. It was as if you were going through the raw pain of it all over again.
"Hitoshi...we should go." Aizawa glanced at his son, then to Toshinori, a look of apology for his son's behaviour in his eyes. It was hard for them all to listen to the cries of a broken heart all over again, that Hitoshi knew how you felt.
"No... she needed to know. They weren't going to tell her. Let her cry now...get over it again. Then maybe she'll remember...everything." the guy was being pulled from the room, by the shorter man.
"Sorry, we'll be in touch when his attitude is better to say thank you. If you care to at least explain the accident," Aizawa was dragging the 20-year-old from the the room, making you look over, the look of hurt on your bruised face.
As the two men got the car, Hitoshi slammed the door, tired and not wanting to go to college in the morning. Not wanting to have to deal with your ex boyfriends and girlfriends, since he was now in their homeroom.
"You didn't have to be so blunt; they would have told her. They hate Dabi for what he did," Aizawa glared at the back of the guy's head.
"Would they? Or would they have spoon-fed her bullshit," the man spat at his father.
"I don't know. But it's not our business, so look after her kitten if you want to do something to get over yourself," the man growled at the boy next to him as the two began car ride home in silence. Once they got home, Hitoshi stormed upstairs, slamming his door before laying face first in his pillow and crying himself to sleep.
The reason he was crying, was because his heart couldn't take it, it couldn't take seeing you so beaten and broken again. Sure, you'd broken his heart, but he'd just broken yours all over again. A small part of him had wanted to hurt you, he had wanted you to feel the pain that he'd felt when you broke his heart. Even if deep down he knew that you'd felt the same as him when you said goodbye last time.
Back at the hospital, you'd cried yourself to sleep from being so heartbroken, that only when you awoke the next day, you informed about the accident itself. All you knew was that you had gone to Aizawa's to pick up a new kitten, that got free. They briefly filled you in about Eri, and that she had tried to save the kitten which resulted in you jumping to save the two of them.
A small part of you was relieved that no one else was hurt in the accident, but a part of your mind was blocking you from remembering anything at the moment. So, as you spent the next few days in the hospital, all you did was eat, sleep, cry, watch Netflix, repeat. Since your phone was broken, your dad said he'd get a new one for you and sort it once you were out of the hospital.
It was more for peace of mind that you wouldn't contact Shoto and Izuku for more information on your breakup.
As for Shinso, he spent the next few days more distant from everyone than he was before. Sleeping in whenever he could, not focusing on his work or football, as well as avoiding talking to anyone, apart from to ask his parents if they had news on you. The one thing he did do, was take care of the little orange kitten like it was the only thing in the world that mattered to him. As at the moment in time, it was his only link to you.
***Thank you for reading!***
