After what happened with your breakup and your dad, you decided it best to leave college. That way those you still cared deeply for could get on with their lives, without the constant reminder that you were there and that you'd broken their hearts. More selfishly, you quit because you didn't want to see them move on because in true fact it broken your heart so much when you said the words 'It's over!'
However, they were all in their third year of college, whereas you were known for being one of the top businesswomen in the world after taking on most of the responsibilities of your fathers' business. Todoroki and Midoriya eventually came around to just being friends again. This was a plus since yourself and Todoroki had created a business together one drunken night. As a favour though whilst the guy finished college you offered to take care of your joint business, making sure that any input he had was dealt with by yourself personally but he would always get the recognition for the idea at hand.
Life was good, not that you'd had any sort of social life. The two guys tried to get you to go out, stating that the old gang were always asking you how you were? If you were eating properly if you had a lover. Some of them had moved on and were in new relationships, some went from one-night stand to one-night stand and others focused on getting through college and going on with their dreams.
Dad and Gramps were good, your dad was still fragile looking, like a completely different man to the one he was before. At the end of it all though he was your dad, he laughed, he joked but you could see that he held onto what had happened, he felt the grudges of his past had snuffed out the light to your happiness. Both him and Gramps had both disagreed with the decision to part ways with those that you loved so much, but they also knew that it had been your decision to make that day.
With all that said, deep inside yourself, you missed them all in their own way and a little selfish part of you wished that one day you could at least become friends again. However, you knew Hitoshi wouldn't, he'd once before closed you off in his life, admitting his feeling to you had been hard. So, when you crushed the hope he had, even if he wanted you just to himself, it was a route that he never wanted to go down again.
Nevertheless, you got yourself a routine as much as you could working practically all the time and still making sure to keep your body in shape. Every day you'd run the same route around 5pm before heading home, to do more work but getting a change a scenery when working from the office. It wasn't uncommon for you to work aboard, and it was easy to go not having many attachments apart from your family.
At the moment, you didn't have a business trip for couple of weeks so as the clock strikes 5pm you change to some shorts, a vest top but also carry a little foldable raincoat, since it had forecast rain that hadn't quite come in yet.
"Mira...going for my run. Can you make sure the car is ready as I'll shower at home today," smiling brightly at the curvy white-haired assistant who returned your smile with her own.
"Sure thing, have a good run. Make sure you take..." before she could finish you held up the little pouch that contained the raincoat. "Good girl," the motherly woman giggled before watching the elevator doors close, the number descending to the ground floor.
Exiting the building by a side door, you put your headphones in putting your current running playlist on, a slightly warming up, before heading to the park you loved to run in. Being late September there was a chill in the air that whipped around your body, but that was forgotten as you began to jog.
As you passed a group of tiny hot drink and food vendors set up for those wanting to enjoy lunch or have a catch up with friends in the park, they all nodded as you smiled acknowledging them with a tiny nod of your own head. However, as you just passed the last one, you saw a little girl trying to climb a tree that was too tall for her, with glittering eyes filled with tears.
Slowing down, looking around noticing that there was no adult with her, then looking to the tree itself, there was a tiny fluffy ginger kitten crying with meows. Everyone that noticed continued to carry on walking by, and as the little girl fell, scraping her hand on the tree you ran over not wanting her to get anymore hurt, but also concerned there was no adult around.
"Hey sweetie, you ok?" removing your headphones you knelt next to the little girl who was crying a little louder, the pain didn't seem to bother the little girl, who was more concerned about the kitten in the tree. "Is this kitten yours? Would you like me to get them down for you?" that caught the little girl's attention, as her puffy red eyes turned to you.
"Pwease," sniffling she got to her feet looking at you with a puppy dog look in her eyes. Smiling brightly at the girl, the cat was just in reaching distance for you if you got onto your tip toes. As you went to lift your arms, the scared little kitten clawed its way down your arms making you bite your lip to not hiss with the sudden pain.
Not wanting the fluffy little jelly bean to bolt, you pulled it into your body, stroking it softly and making calming noises to comfort the scared little creature before turning to the girl, who now held the biggest cutest smile on her face. Holding your arms out to the girl, she took the tiny kitten out of your arms.
"There you go...where is your parents?" looking around there was still no one with even an eye on the girl not old enough to be unsupervised. It was clear from when she looked up, that she'd forgotten that she now wasn't with whoever she was currently with in the park. All her attention had been on getting the scared little kitten out of the tree.
"I got lost...when I tried to get the kitty away from the bad doggy," her sad little voice began to trial off to tears again, but the kitten seemed content in her arms. Taking a look around you noticed the drink vendors had benches next to them, and you knew it wouldn't be safe to leave the girl alone as it was already beginning to get dark.
"Ok, well how about we go sit over there and I bet someone is looking for you. Do you want a hot chocolate?" smiling at the girl you were trying to get her spirits up, as you knew that leaving the park would make it worst for whoever was most likely searching frantically for the girl.
It was only now that the little girl was cautious of the fact that you were a stranger, but the fact that you had said to sit and wait, instead of offering to take her home, it seemed to give her some comfort. Pointing towards a bench within eyesight of the hot drinks cart, you ran over ordered 2 hot chocolates with all the toppings before heading back to the little girl cuddling the now sleeping kitten.
Taking a seat next to the girl, you placed the drink on the bench next to her, "My name is (f/n). What's your sweetheart?" looking down at the girl, she was thinking about whether to give it or not. "We're not moving from this spot until whoever comes to get you ok?" a serious look in your eyes, made it clear to the girl that you were honest to your word.
"It's Eri..." smiling sweetly, her red eyes still a little puffy from the crying.
"Does your hand hurt? and what's your kitten's name?" glancing at the snoring little bundle in her arms.
"He doesn't have a home...the mean doggy was chasing him so I tried to save him...and then.." it was clear that whoever was with her, wasn't pay attention but it wasn't your place to give them what for. The amount of times you had given your dad and Gramps a heart attack, couldn't be counted on two hands.
"Oh no! Well I bet he would love to liv..." before you could finish the rain began to pour, and you made the decision to put the one coat you had over the two sat next to you. Meaning that your work out gear was beginning to stick to your skin, and it was cold.
"oh no you'll get sick...and it will be all my fault," Eri looked as if she was about to cry again, when you chuckled.
"Don't you worry! I won't get sick from a little rain..." then you heard a man shouting, sounding quite frantic.
"ERI....WHERE ARE YOU?" as your eyes looked up to where the man was stood, his clothes clinging to his tall, built frame and at first you admired the random man's physique. Yet, as he moved closer you notice his purple hair, that you knew to be a messy mane normally now dripping wet.
As the moment, he hadn't noticed you and you really didn't want to come face to face with Hitoshi Shinso, one of your ex-boyfriends but childhood friend. So, with that in mind you stood up and pointed towards him. "Do you know that man?" looking a little concerned at first, the white hair girl looked over, a huge smile forming on her face.
"That's my big brother, Ooshi!" your heart nearly jumped out your chest, it was the same nickname you'd called him when you were younger.
"Ok, then you run over and I'll watch from here," passing her the hot chocolate you'd brought the little girl was excited, that she'd forgotten she was wearing your jacket, as had you but right now, you wanted to be out of the situation in general.
Watching from the bench, you stood up drinking the hot chocolate. Once Eri got to Shinso, she pointed back towards where you stood. Quickly, you waved before you went to continue to run not daring to turn back in case the man recognised you.
