Chapter 56 Sam

I would have loved to go round two with my mate but my body was exhausted, pleasantly so. Plus you add in the fact we have had the house to ourselves for a while now so it was only a matter of time before the troops would be strolling in. While we were in the shower together, cleaning up...ok and maybe a little petting, Lawrence's phone continued to go off. We knew we did not have much time left on our own.

Dressed in my own clothes I found Lawrence a pair of sweats and a loose fit tank top. His shirt was not the only thing that came out damaged. Here I thought he was taking his time undoing his pants but in reality he actually tore his zipper in two. Staring at that tanned, smooth, muscled skin showing where his tank did not cover had me wanting him again and now.

"Lawrence?" There was no question what I wanted. He could smell my need. "A quickie? Against the wall so we don't get sidetracked?" Was I almost begging for sex?

He looked at me then the lonely wall. Lawrence sighed, "If you wore more dresses or skirts than as you call them, a quickie, could be arranged more often." He laughed at my pout. I had to try.

Reluctantly he walked out the bedroom door with me on his heels. "It was you! You put that sundress in my closet!" All he did was laugh. Little bastard. Actually he may be on to something. Hmmm I needed to see if Mady was up for a shopping trip and soon.

"So I was thinking," Lawrence started to say when we reached the bottom of the steps and the front door opened with a group of lions and wolves coming in. Nodding at them as they walked in he continued, "Since too many people know where you live I think it is time for you to move out."

And there went my mind fucking blowing sex glow. "You what!" I yelled, watching Lawrence walk away and towards the dining room. If only his ass wasn't so damn fine to look at I would have yelled some more. But nooo, distracted by this man, my mate, and wanting to see him naked again was a distraction I had to overcome and soon.

Stomping my way to the dining room or war room or command center, whatever they wanted to call it; it was where they usually ganged up on me. That was a little harsh but I have lost many battles in that room.

I knew the others were following me and staying quiet. I think I caught a glimpse of Jack in the group as well. Great, just great it was going to be a tag team effort. "I am not moving out of my house!" I started as soon as I walked in the room. Of course Lawrence stood at the head of the table with his arms crossed. I swear he was fighting to keep a smirk off his face. If he thought us being mated was going to change my attitude he had another thing coming.

"That sounds like a good idea," Jack put in his two cents a moment later. "Samantha it will only be until things cool down." Oh yeah Lawrence was fighting a smirk. He knew Jack would be on his side.

I was not giving in on this one. They would have to carry me kicking and screaming. "No. No. No. I am not leaving this house. You move in here if you are so worried." I said to Lawrence. Shit were we supposed to live together now? It felt right to me but what if Lawrence felt differently. Maybe this should be a private conversation.

"Samantha you are moving in with me in my house. It is a lot safer." Lawrence announced. Ok so I guess the moving in thing was part of the mating.

They all ignored me while I stood there frantically thinking. I could not leave my house for so many reasons. The question was how could I convince them? That was when the light bulb went off in my head. My smile grew as I watched the men discuss the moving arrangements. Of course Lawrence noticed it first and his confidence dwindled while his eyes narrowed which made me smile more. The room quieted instantly.

Giving Jack my full attention I asked, "What if I can prove to you that this place is safer and I was able to hold a few more people here? Of course only members who wanted to move or work here or whatever."

Jack looked at me and thought before he answered. "I am listening but it would have to really impress me. Overall the last word goes to your mates." Jack had a huge smile on his face when he said the latter.

How did they know? I know Lawrence did not tell anyone, so how? Sidetracked for a moment and ignoring his last comment, I said, "Oh this will impress you and your security team." I was not faking my confidence.

Leading a trail of men to my office, with Lawrence beside me and Jack just behind us, I walked over to the far side of the built in bookcases. Being a little more dramatic because I was feeling a little cocky I hit the hidden switch in the shelf and the door clicked open. Pulling the shelf/door open wide to let Lawrence and Jack look inside. Jack looked surprised, well his brow raised a notch since he never like to let people know something surprised him and Lawrence laughed.

"If you gentleman would like to follow me I will show you my secret cave." Flicking on the light switch, adding a little more sway to my hips I lead the way down the stairs to the hidden rooms and the security base. I couldn't believe I completely forgot about it. The last, and only time I used it was when I found out shifters existed and I was special to them. I didn't take it very well and locked myself down here for a couple days to get my head straight.

It was pretty spacious down here but you add in 20 plus shifters and things felt cramped pretty quick. I let them all look around for a few minutes. I waited till I could tell Jack was impressed but not that impressed. "Jack? Lawrence? I think this is what you may be interested in." I opened up the last door, the door I stood in front of until it was time for the big unveiling.

I stayed outside in the main area and took Miles' arm and pulled him to the end of the room. He followed without a word. I knew if I left this room without anyone knowing Lawrence and Jack may get upset so I dragged Miles with me. Up the stairs I opened the door which lead us to the garage. Closing the door behind Miles I just smiled and walked us back inside. Miles chuckled and said he was heading back to see the final room and I headed back to the dining room to wait.

It was my turn to sit at the head of the table. I was worried what their response would be. I had no doubt they would like it but waiting so long to tell them may have different consequences. My dramatic pose, sitting in the chair with my feet on the table and arms crossed got boring after 10 minutes. Another 10 minutes and I was up and pacing. It was taking them too long and my nerves were getting the better of me. Finally I heard some come for the direction of the office and the rest from the garage door.

Lawrence was the first one in the room and I couldn't tell what he was thinking. Walking up to me, like a man on a mission, he pinned me up against the wall, picking me up so my legs wrapped around his waist and attacked my lips with his. Did I say the man could kiss? DAMN! Was the best way to describe it.

Pulling away all too soon, he whispered, "This is the reason you need to wear more dresses." With that said and me a little light headed he planted me back on my feet.

There was a couple chuckles and a moan or two before someone said, "I love being around new mated pairs." I was pretty sure that was meant sarcastically.

Lawrence sat down at the head of the table and pulled me into his lap. "So what do you think?" He addressed Jack.

Jack shook his head but had a smile on his face. "I wish I would have known this before. It is a really good system. My men could not have done a better job. Like I said earlier it is your final say. She is your mate." I knew Jack was happy but there was a bit of sadness in his eyes.

Lawrence sighed, "We might as well get this conversation out of the way. Yes, Sam is my mate and that will never change. Her ties to you will never change. As far as I am concerned we discuss all things that have to do with Sam like we did before, but I hold the right to veto decisions. At the same time you do as well since I may not always be the most level headed when it comes to her." I just loved being talked about as if I was not in the room but this once I let it go. Even I knew when a breakthrough was about to be made.

Jack's smile light up the room. He didn't even try to hold back how he felt. "Lawrence you are a fine leader and I am happy we have become friends and allies. I agree to those terms." Lawrence stood up, still keeping his arms tightly around my waist and shook hands with Jack.

"Yay me I still have 2 overly bossy men I get to argue with." Oh that was so supposed to be said to myself and not out loud. I think the dear in the headlights look I had on my face was what had every one of the men roar in laughter.
