As soon as she pulled away and turned so did I. I refused to watch Sam run off to her possible death or worse. I did tell her to come to me and I meant every word. When she was back we were going to talk. Jack stood there staring at me, not with disbelief of what I just did but with something close to pity and understanding. Miles, still in the car kept his eyes on the road, while Quinn stood open mouthed, Dmitri looked like he was ready to kill.

"What did he just do? He had no right. Why the hell are you not as pissed?" I heard Dmitri ask Nickoli.

"Things changed." Nickoli stood and stared at Dmitri. I could feel the others stop what they were doing and listen to what Nickoli was about to say. Those who were close to Sam or was around her house knew something had changed but wasn't sure what it was. "Dmitri, I am not her mate. Her lion chose another." He gave Dmitri a sad smile. "I hope you do not think Sam will ever be a good little mate and stay home where she is safe and do as you ask? She isn't and won't be."

Dmitri stood there dumbfounded while the others turned to stare at me. I guess it wasn't a secret. Oh I doubt they knew for sure but had their strong suspicions. I looked over at Jack seeing what I already knew and kept to myself and asked, "Are you ready?" My voice lost its harshness, almost sounding tired.

Jack nodded once. "Ok boys let's get into place and listen for Sam," Jack spoke loud enough for the 6 cars that were lined up behind ours.
