chapter 1.

Its been thirteen years, but i can't get the name out of my head.

Ruby Rose.

I still don't remember the dream, or anything of it.

All i know is that god damn name.

And right now, i'm finishing up work.

I throw the body onto the ground, using my semblace as it is torn to shreds, and destroyed. Making sure to leave no evidence, as i teleport to my employer, Roman Torchwick.

"It's done." I bow me head slightly, flashing a smile to neo, she's been a good friend of mine.

Mom thinks we're dating.

If only she knew.

"Great job, kid. No evidence as usual?"

I lean against the wall, nodding.

"Here's your payment. I was feeling gracious today, so here."

"Ten million lien?! Roman, you've gotta be kidding."

"I'm definitely not, so go have some fun." He winks at me, putting his cigar out. I teleport next to him, giving him a hug, as i do the same to Neo, before flashing them both a smile and teleporting home.

"MOM! I WON THE LOTTERY!"

"YOU WHAT?!" I run into the kitchen, wrapping my arms around my mother.

"I can finally go to beacon, Mom!" I gave her a million watt smile, as she gave me one. Sure, the apartment was run down, but it was home. And then my smile faded.

"If they let me in..." she gave me a smile.

"They'd totally let you in with your talents! You'd just need to study to make up for the missed semester. I'll call the headmaster immediately." She gave me another smile, as i bounded up to my room, shouting a "thank you!" As i did so.

I started packing everything, including all the secret stuff i was working on.

Though i did leave a large amount of stuff behind, mainly clothes, as i knew they had a uniform.

There was a knock on the door, as i teleported to it, opening the door.

"Hello, may i come in?" There stood Professor Ozpin, and his assistant, ms. Goodwitch, as it was raining, and dark by now.

"Ah, yes, please, do make yourself at home." I gave them a polite greeting, teleporting upstairs to check on everything, before teleporting back down, as Ms. Goodwitch and professor Ozpin were seated on the opposite side of my mother, an open spot for me next to her.

"Oh, my apologies. One moment, please." I teleported back to my room, pulling my armor off as i threw on some formal attire.

I teleported back.

"Thank you for your patience, Professors." I bowed my head slightly.

"Its quite alright, mr. Soltar. now, i've heard you wish to join beacon academy? Why so?"

That's not the question i was expecting, but okay.

"Well sir, i don't want to have to rely on my mother for the rest of my life with as poor as we are now, as well as wanting to be able to protect others." I gave a small but determined smile.

"Oh? And why should i let you in a whole semester late, mr. Soltar?"

"I- don't have an answer for that. I'm sorry, sir...."

I screwed it up. My one god damn chance.

"It's quite alright, Mr. L/N. It was only to see your reaction to that. I believe you have great amounts of power. But could we please speak in private?" He asked, taking a sip of his tea.

"Oh, yes. Please follow me."

I walked us up to my room, as everything looked well cleaned as it always does. I allowed him to step in first, as i followed him, shutting the door.

"What is the real reason you want to come to beacon?"

Oh shit, what do i do?

"Okay, but you may wish to take a seat. This may sound crazy, but it's true." Ozpin motioned for me to continue.

"Thirteen years ago, i had a dream. I don't remember anything about it, except for a name." Ozpin raised an eyebrow at me.

"The Name was Ruby Rose. And all i remember is her name. Not anything else. It has been thirteen god damn years since that day, without ever meeting her, but i remember it clearer than day, and it is always ever present in my head." Ozpin rubbed his chin in thought.

"Hmm... intriguing... and why do you want to go to beacon specifically?"

"Its the closest, and i know her mother was summer rose, as i met summer years ago, and she trained here, so where better to start?"

"Also, another reason i want to go to beacon is so that i can stop being a mercenary."

"Oh, so those missing persons cases with their heads perfectly taken off were you?"

I froze.

"How did they find the bodies so fast?"

"I'm not sure myself."

"I don't like the mercenary work, you know. I only ever did it because i had to. I needed money, and i needed it fast. With my semblance, it was in and out, nothing to it. But i don't want that anymore. I just want to make enough money that i can help my mother." Ozpin gave a small smile at this.

"Then we'll help your honorable cause." I smiled, as my silver eyes shone brightly.

Little did i know, this was the beginning of an epic tale, of two silvered eyes warriors, who's names would echo for the rest of time.
