Chapter 6
I wake up with Prince Charming in my face. "Oh, no!" I yelled. Then, I jump out of bed and back up into the corner freaking out because I'm in the same place as I was last night. You see, normal be would just wake up doing their everyday routine, but when I literally change dimensions every day, you'd freak out too.
It's been a few minutes, and I just realized the Prince and a few of his workers are standing in front of me probably startled about my health. "Sorry. I'm fine. I just a umm... panic attack? Yes! That's what I had! I had a panic attack. Uh- Can I just have a few minutes to myself this morning. Maybe until like breakfast , or something?" I stuttered out.
They leave the room probably still worried about my health, but I just ignore it for now because I need to think about what's happening. I think I know what I have to do. I should find Cinderella. Maybe if I introduced the two, they would hit it off? I don't know, but it's my only hope. The chef calls up telling me breakfast is ready, so I go down to eat.
At breakfast I just stare at my food, barely touching it the whole time. I'm too busy trying to figure out things like "Where to find Cinderella" and "How am I going to make them meet?" The whole time at breakfast, I can feel everybody staring at me. They're almost looking at me like I committed a crime or something. I finally ask, "Can I be excused from breakfast?"
"Yes." the prince replied. I struggle to gather everything that I brought to breakfast, which was my phone that doesn't work, my purse with no money, and my glasses with scratches all over them. Then Charming asks, "Are you okay? Do you need anything?"
"No." I reply. Before I head up the stairs, I ask them something. "Do you happen to know a way that I can find somebody? Like a way to track down everybody in the kingdom?"
"Umm..." He responded. "It depends on why or who you're looking for." I walk back over to him. I figured this conversation would be longer than I had hoped, but I knew it was needed.
"I'm looking for a lady named Cinderella. She's probably dressed in rags. You might think of her as a maid. She'd probably be living in a nice house with her stepmother and two stepsisters. They would have a cat named Lucifer." After that, I just found myself desperately explaining what kind of conditions they may be living in and what she looks like.
"Okay," Charming replied. Then to his servant he said, "Go try to find anything you can on this Cinderella girl."
"Yes, sir." The servant responded. I then ran upstairs trying to find a phonebook. I then remembered we're in some medieval time, or whatever. There are none here.
"How did people live in this time period? My whole life is on the internet!" Charming walked in while I was yelling. He looked confused.
"What's this so called... "internet"?" Dangit. I never should have been put into this position.
"Nothing... It's just a um... an idea. Yes, that is what it is!" I then keep looking for something that might track the people that live in the area.
"Are you sure you're okay? You seem kind of... crazier than last night." This was when I remembered that women probably got zero respect in this time era. I could honestly write a whole book about it with how passionate I am about the subjects.
Anyways, I finally answered with, "I'm fine." Then I asked, "Have you found anything about Cinderella?"
"Yeah," he replied. "Why is it so important to you that you find this lass?"
Lass? Who uses that word lass? Whatever. I need to focus on what's important. "It doesn't matter why. It just matters that we find her." I responded.
"Okay," he replies. Handing me a sheet of paper, he says, "This is what we found on Cinderella." I look at the paper. The handwriting is such formal cursive. I guess I'm lucky I was taught cursive. I still can't believe they don't teach it anymore. I mean it's useless... unless you're under the circumstances I'm under which I doubt anyone is.
I thank him, then leave. While I'm running toward the door, I swear there were about thirty workers telling me to stop running because we're indoors. Then I open the doors. The odd thing about this is that I don't see any streets. It's only forest? Where the hell am I?
