Jurnee's POV
"Can we all just talk in normal voices?" my momma said sitting bottles of water on the table. I looked around the room at Demyya who was crying, staring at her momma. I looked towards Kenny while he daydreamed with his attention on Demyya.
"Demyya, your daddy is a lying piece of sh—"
"Don't lie to me Ma. Tell me what really happened. Pleasee," Demyya begged lowering her voice. I felt really bad for her, all she wanted was the answers and Ms. DeAnna was dodging her questions.
"My two, let's go," momma yelled getting mine and Kenny's attention. Kenny stood up and walked towards the kitchen. Demyya and I were supposed to be going shopping today. I also wanted to hear what Ms. DeAnna was going to tell her so I continued to sit still.
Myya looked up at me and knew I needed saving. Momma was trying to make us go to my Aunt Pina's house again. "Ma, you know what? I'll ask him. I'll finally hear him out since you don't think I deserve to know."
I watched her walk to my momma and whisper a few words and then she walked off towards the kitchen. I just sat there confused, hoping like hell, she got me outta going. Kenny is gonna be upset because momma said he was going no matter what.
"Why you still sitting there? Come on before the store closes," Myya said standing at the front door, holding up the keys to our new silver, 2015 Hyundai Sonata.
I hurriedly got up from the couch and ran downstairs to get my purse and charger. I double checked to make sure my wallet was in there and ran back upstairs. Myya was already outside so I headed straight towards the front door.
"Since you always seem to have something to do or always with Myya. Tomorrow, Myya's coming with us and I'm not taking anything for an excuse," I stopped in my tracks and turned towards my momma. "So after school, you and Myya drive straight to Pina's house."
"Momma! Monique's birthday is this weekend. We're supposed to be staying at her house," I whined throwing a mini tantrum.
"Well, either y'all bring Monique with y'all or forget about spending her birthday with her," momma walked off before I could say anything else. I walked out of the house and dreaded telling Demyya what happened.
"You look like you saw a ghost," she said as I got in the car. Demyya pulled out the driveway and headed towards town.
"No but we're gonna see one tomorrow," I retorted.
"What do you mean tomorrow? Jurnee what aren't you telling me?" Just as I was about to speak, Demyya stopped the car and pulled up to the atm. "Explain Jurnee," she insisted before turning to the atm and pressing buttons.
"Momma said we gotta go to Aunt Pina's house after school and either we bring Monique with us or we don't spend it with her at all and she's not taking no excuses," I said all in one breath hoping Demyya wouldn't make me slow it down.
She grabbed her money from the slot and pulled off towards the Pink store.
"Good! I wanna see what's so bad about Aunt Pina anyway. Monique could come or be alone. Her choice!" Demyya yelled the last few words.
"Are y'all still mad at each other? Y'all need to get over it. How were you gonna stay over and y'all not friends?" I asked applying some lip gloss.
"I had other plans," she shrugged. "I was gonna be with RaiShaun but now I'll cancel since I have to."
Eventually, we came to a stop and Myya put the car in park. It felt so clean and pure outside today. The wind was blowing and the sun was out. The leaves were slowly falling from the trees and blowing across the parking lot. I closed the car door and waited on Demyya to get out.
"Hey, my name is Landen and I'll be your personal helper today. Let me know if y'all need any help with anything," Landen introduced her self. She was a pretty red-headed, white girl with freckles.
"Thank you," Demyya and I said at the same time. We both laughed and walked around shopping. I couldn't really find anything I liked other than the matching sweatsuits for me and Monique. I'm only two months pregnant but I know eventually I won't be able to fit anything. It's pointless to just spend a bunch of money on clothes that I'ma busy out of.
"Should I ask Landen to help me find some panties? Just to use her aid. She seems like a nice girl and she probably gets paid by her service on the floor," Demyya said walking up behind me. I turned around and noticed she had an arm full of clothes.
"Yea, why not?" I agreed looking around for Landen. I spotted her talking to Jordaan and looked over at Demyya, who was trying on some house-shoes. "There she is but she's helping somebody," I said leaving out the part that her sister is here and is feet away from us.
"Is that.."
"Hey Demyya," Jordaan called out walking away from Landen. She looked at me as she made it to where we were standing. "What's your name?"
"I'm Jurnee, nice to meet you," I said shaking her hand that she stuck out.
"Nice to meet you too. Y'all finding everything okay?" she asked picking up a shirt and hanging it up.
"You work here?" Demyya asked finally speaking up.
"Yea I do but I'm off today. I was just coming to get my check," Jordaan paused and looked from me to Myya. "Ima cut to the chase. I wanna get to know you despite what happened between our parents. I always wanted a sister, living in a house with just Damien as a sibling was hard. My other sister never lived with us," Jordaan looked as if she wanted to cry and Demyya just stared at her.
"Nevermind. Sorry, I bothered yall," Jordaan said as she started to walk away. I looked at Myya and noticed she was crying.
"Talk to her babe. Get to know her. It'll be good for both of y'all," I insured her hoping she'd listen.
"Jordaan wait!" Myya called out causing Jordaan to turn back around. "I'm sorry. I just wanna hold somebody accountable for me missing out on a father but it shouldn't be you. It's not your fault and I apologize again for being rude to you," Demyya said walking closer to Jordaan. They look almost identical, it was crazy.
"And if you'd like, I'd love to get to know you and spend much needed time with you," Myya said wrapping her arms around Jordaan and pulling her into a nice hug.
"Awww, I gotta get some of this loving," I said squeezing in between the two. They both laughed and hugged me back. This looked like the start of a beautiful sisterhood. If only Demyya and Monique would make up already.

Monique's POV
Morgan was just staring at me as I worked on my essay that's due in the morning. I was trying to ignore him but the intensity of his stares became too hard to bare. I looked up at him and stared back.
"Why are you staring at me?" I asked rolling my eyes. I knew this had something to do with Myya but I didn't understand why he was defending her so much.
"I wasn't staring at you. I was daydreaming," he laughed adjusting his hat.
"Well daydream in another direction," I said with an attitude. I stood up and headed to the kitchen to get something to drink.
"Monny, I know you're just defending me and want what's best for me. But you have to remember, I'm older than you. If I'm making a mistake, let me. Don't lose your friends because of me. You and Demyya were best of friends," he explained walking behind me into the kitchen.
"It's not that, Morgan. She could have been honest with me. I found out through James. At first, I didn't believe him because he had just accused Myya of sleeping with RaiShaun, but that came back to be true. Then the lil chlamydia that was getting passed around cut the cake with me. Morgan, you're my brother. I don't wanna lose you to the damn streets so what makes you think I wanna lose you to a disease. Good thing you weren't positive but you could have been and it could've been Aids or Herpes," I rambled until Morgan covered my mouth with his hands.
"Monique, calm down. I know you love me and you don't wanna lose me. But you're losing your best friend over something so small. I forgave her... in a way. But that's our business. You should call her and see what she's doing this weekend," Morgan suggested grabbing two cups and pouring some Kool-Aid.
"I guess you're right. I do miss her," I admitted.
"I know. I heard you talking to yourself, practicing how to apologize," he chuckled before gulping all his juice down and putting his cup in the sink.
"Well, I think you owe her an apology too. Seeing as though, you "left her with a blue cat". Is that how she worded it?" I laughed running around the table before he caught me.
"Yea I shouldn't have done that. I just wanna be her main man, not second to everybody else," he confessed. I've never seen him this interested in a girl so I know he was feeling Demyya.
"Oooh, somebody's in love. Lemme go call Myya right now and tell her I'm ready to be an auntie and a bridesmaid."
"Whatever. I love you Monny. Let me know how that go," Morgan said walking towards his room.
I went back into the living room and hesitated on calling Demyya. I thought for a few more seconds before deciding on calling Jurnee. Demyya would probably ignore my calls anyway.
The phone rang twice before I heard Jurnee on the other end. "Girl if you don't give him your number!" she yelled to someone in the back who kept saying no.
"My bad Moe. What you doing?" Jurnee finally said to me. I chuckled while putting my homework up.
"Nothing was just calling. You around Demyya?" Jurnee was so silent for a second, I thought she had hung up.
"Hello, who is this?" Demyya asked.
"Um, hey. It's Monique. I understand if you don't wanna talk to me but hear me out," I paused to see if she was still listening.
"Go on," she said catching me off guard.
"I know I said some awful things to you and I just wanted to apologize. I'm just so overprotective of my brother and I don't wanna see him hurt. You outchea living ya best life and he catching feelins. We talk about everything and I know how you do these boys. I just ain't going out like that about my brother. I'll go to war over him and I just hope you can understand that" I was going to keep talking but I ain't want to overdo it.
"Are you done or is you finished?" Demyya asked causing me to roll my eyes. This bitch is tempting me to curse her— "I accept ya apology. I wanna say I'm sorry too. Not sorry for laying this good puss... I mean sorry for not telling you sus. We good?"
"Girlll you are too much. Yea we good," I said smiling to myself.
"Good, cuz we pulling in your driveway now," Myya said laughing.
I looked out the living room window and sure enough, Demyya pulled into the driveway with Jurnee in the passenger seat and someone else in the back. I hung up the phone and went and opened the front door.
Jurnee walked up and hugged me and introduced Jordaan to me as Demyya's little sister by three days. They looked like identical twins if you asked me.
"Soo girl lemme tell you what my momma said," Jurnee said sitting on the arm of the couch.
"Get ya booty juice off my momma couch before she walks in and cuss you out," Morgan said walking into the living room. Jurnee slid down and sat on the couch before laughing.
"My bad. But yea. She say we can't stay this weekend. Me and Myya gotta go to my Aunt Pina house. You can come with us. I know you probably don.."
"I'll love to meet the infamous Aunt Pina," I said cutting her off.
"Everybody wanna meet her but me. She's gonna treat y'all like y'all four and y'all gonna wanna blame me," Jurnee said throwing up her hands in defeat.
Morgan had grabbed Myya and pulled her into the kitchen. I know Morgan's older than me but I hope he knows what he's doing. "Come upstairs with me. I'll pack my clothes and put them in the trunk," I said heading towards the stairs. Aunt Pina's house couldn't be as bad as Jurnee and Kenny made it seem but I'll find out tomorrow.
