Chapter 9
This is insane. How did villains get in here?! It's unheard of. "The trespassing the other day was the work of these scumbags after all huh?" I glanced at Aizawa-Sensei. I thought it was the press?
Ah, but they shouldn't have been able to get in with U.A.'s security. So it was a diversion.
But why here? I watched as villains filed out of the portal. Ah, it's a person. What a troublesome Quirk he has. This is big trouble.
Suddenly Aizawa-Sensei's hair went up and the bandages around his neck unraveled a bit. He's getting ready for battle.
Thirteen was in front of us, his arm extended to keep us back. I kept my gaze on the villain by the portal. I sense a malicious intent from the one with fake hands over him. He means business.
"What, villains?! No way! There's no way they could get into a hero school!" Kirishima shouted in disbelief. Yaoyorozu stepped up. "Sensei, what about the trespasser sensors?" She questioned. She's scared, like everyone else. But she's trying to figure it out. "We have them of course, but . . ." He trailed off.
I clicked my tongue. This is a shitty situation we're in. "Did they only appear here, or around the whole school? Either way, if the sensors are not responding, that means they have someone with a Quirk that can do that. An isolated area separated from the main campus during a time when a class is supposed to be here. They might be fools but they're not dumb." Todoroki voiced.
I nodded in agreement. "It was carefully planned. They're here for something, or someone. Why else invade a school with as much security as this? No, they knew about our security and the time we'd be here. And I doubt that they are after any of the students. So they must be after a hero." I added on.
It was silent a bit as we assessed the situation. I doubt its Aizawa-Sensei. And Thirteen is mainly rescue. So that leaves the only teacher left.
The one that was supposed to be here.
All Might.
"Thirteen, start the evacuation. Try calling the school. These villains even had something to counteract the sensors. It's possible someone with radio-wave-type powers is interfering."
I scanned the villains, looking for one who could be the culprit. But if I was him I'd hide the moment I get here to maintain any outside interference. "Kaminari. You try contacting the school with your Quirk too." Kaminari touched the decorative earpiece to his ear. "Yes sir."
"What about you Sensei? Will you fight by yourself? With that many, even if you can erase their Quirks, Eraser Head's fighting style is capturing after erasing the enemy's Quirk. A frontal battle is . . ." Izu trailed off, worried for our teacher.
"You can't be a hero with just one trick." Eh? I blinked in surprise at Aizawa-Sensei's answer. "I'm leaving it to you, Thirteen." With that said he jumped down the staircase, towards the villains.
Three villains went up. The shooting squad I presume. But Aizawa-Sensei erased their Quirks and trapped them in his bandages and flung them up before slamming them together. One with a heteromorphic-type Quirk ran at him. Those with Quirks like that are different, but essentially rely on hand to hand combat. I watched as Aizawa-Sensei dodged his strikes before delivering a strong punch to his face, sending him up a bit.
I smirked. Nice punch Sensei. He shot a bandage and wrapped it around the villains leg and avoided a strike from someone from behind. He kicked that one roughly before throwing the capture villain into some others.
He's strong in hand-to-hand combat. Well I'd expect that from a Quirk who erases other Quirks. And he's wearing those goggles so you can't tell whose Quirk he's erasing.
When fighting against a group, that makes it harder for them to work together. He's strong. "Come on Kiri-Nee." Izu grabbed my arm and led me back.
Thirteen is currently evacuating the students and we were headed to the door a bit a ways ahead of us. However, the portal man appeared, cutting us off from our path of freedom. "I won't let you." He spoke.
I glared at the cloud of darkness. "Nice to meet you. We are the League of Villains. It may be presumptuous of us, but we have invited ourselves in to the home of the heroes, U.A. High School in order to have All Might, the Symbol of Peace, take his last breath." I knew it.
They're after him. Makes sense, he's in their way. But I think it's foolish to come with a group Aizawa-Sensei is faring well against.
No, there must be an ace in the hole. They wouldn't come unless they were sure they could defeat him.
Izu, who had been shaking for a while now, stopped and stared at him in confusion. "I believe All Might should have been here. Has there been some kind of change? Well, that is neither here nor there. This is the part I am to play."
He moved a bit. Thirteen moved his hand up to fight, but the idiot duo lunged. Kacchan and Kirishima.
The two struck with their Quirks, making dust rise around us from their attacks. "Did you consider that you'd get beaten by us before you did it?" Kirishima's voice asked loudly.
"Idiots!" I shouted at them. The dust cleared a bit to reveal the villain wasn't injured. But something glinted. Something metal.
"Oh dear, that's dangerous. That's right. Even if you are students, you are excellent golden eggs." The Warp man spoke. "No! Move away you two!" Thirteen called. His hand still outstretched. "My job is to scatter you all and torture you to death!" He outstretched his portal body, his golden yellow eyes glinted.
The body wrapped around us. What the? I was lifted up a bit. "What the hell?!" I shouted as the intensity flared. "Everyone!" Iida screamed loudly. "Katsuki! Izuku!" I shouted before a strange sensation occurred. Suddenly I fell.
My body slammed into cement. That damn warp. I sat up and sweat dropped. In front of me stood Aizawa-Sensei. Well I wasn't warped that far. Suddenly something wrapping tightly around me. "What the? Wha!" Suddenly I was encased in a bubble barrier, lifting me into the air.
With some struggle, I managed to rip the bindings that had wrapped around me. I then began to bang on it, trying to get out. But it's strong. "Nozomi!" Aizawa-Sensei shouted. I turned to him and my eyes widened. "Behind you!" I warned.
He turned and kicked the villains attempting to sneak up on him. I continued to hit and kick at the barrier holding me but to no avail. What the hell is this?! Who's holding the barrier?
I looked around at the villains below me, attacking Aizawa-Sensei. But they're all engrossed with fighting. They couldn't be the barrier holder. So where is the one holding me?
There are no other villains other then that weird guy with the hands on his body and the giant bird with the brain who aren't fighting.
Well, it seems like I'm in no imminent danger at the moment. But Izu and Kacchan. I hope they're alright.
Hm. Looking around, most of these villains are half baked. Nothing special in the least.
Kacchan should be able to handle them with ease. And they don't seem like the brightest bunch, Izu can easily outsmart them. The only ones who should be of real concern are the Warp, the bird, the hand man, and whoever is keeping me in this barrier.
I'm strong enough to at least crack a barrier, that is if I don't use full strength that I need to preserve. Yet all my hits didn't make even a little dent in it. Whoever can create barriers like this is strong.
Sighing, I relaxed a bit in the barrier and watched Aizawa-Sensei fight the villains around him. For someone who doesn't have a flashy Quirk, he sure is strong. He's excellent in hand to hand combat. And he incorporates his Quirk perfectly with it. I always thought of him as a lazy person. Then again, Izu does admire him.
But there's still so many. And his Quirk erases another so long as his eyes stay open. They won't be able to tell whose Quirk he erases due to his visors but that's not going to help how long he'll be able to keep them open for so long without them drying out. He'll be forced to close them eventually.
Although he's fairing well, his Quirk isn't designed to fight a group this size for long periods of time.
I glanced back at where the others were before we were dispersed. I can see some that weren't thrown off, but where's Thirteen? Ah. My eyes widened seeing the hero down on the ground.
What the . . . but . . . his Quirk. What the hell happened?! With Thirteen down, that leaves Aizawa. He's doing great, but all that fighting is going to wear him down and fast. And he's not even fighting the most powerful ones of the group yet.
If both teachers are to be knocked out and or killed, then that leaves the students. They have interesting Quirks, but I can't think of anyone who could defeat the big guys. Maybe Todoroki and Kacchan, but only if they worked together with Kirishima and Yaoyorozu.
Half Cold and Half Hot, Explosions, Hardening, and Creation.
Given Yaoyorozu is more of a defense and long distance fire, I'd pair Kirishima to keep her safe as she fired from a distance while Todoroki and Kacchan are on the offense of close distance.
Kirishima is also of a close range fighter, but he'd be better off to protect the girl so we can gain an advantage of her long range ability.
However none of them are up there. And even if they were, I highly doubt they'd work well together. Todoroki is anti-social as it is, and Kacchan and Kirishima are both about the one to fight right then without thinking of working with others.
This is going to be a pain in the ass. I continued hitting the shield, trying to get an idea of the type of Quirk this is. It's clearly Barrier, but what person with that Quirk would become a Villain?
And why trap me? If I were them, I'd trap Aizawa-Sensei and Thirteen. The students aren't even worth their time. But they trapped me specifically.
They can't possibly be this stupid. It's a waste of a barrier.
Thing's aren't looking so well for us. Pursing my lips I hit the damn barrier in annoyance. "God damn it! Let me out of here you damn delinquents! Let me out, let me out, let me out!" I roared in anger. Like I expected, nothing happened to the barrier.
I watched as Aizawa began to tire out, but he kept on going. He sure knows how to kick ass, that's for sure.
A loud sound reverberated. Looking up, at the ship wreck site of the training grounds of USJ, water splashed violently up into the air. Like something extremely heavy fell in, causing the waters to spread then converge back in the water, resulting in that splash.
That doesn't look like the work of villains. Students. But who has a Quirk like that? The barrier I was in shook slightly, making me blink.
What the? It's like the caster was distracted . . . I see. So this type of barrier is one that requires absolute focus and concentration.
Hm. It's not that uncommon of a Quirk. I know of several people who have, Three of which are villains. Could it be? No. They would never work with this pathetic excuse of a villain organization.
Besides, I don't see the head honcho. By my guess, the hands guy is the boss. And they'd never work for someone. It's not in their nature to take orders. So we're lucked out in that area.
"Ah. Aizawa-Sensei!" I shouted in warning as a villain lunged an attack. Aizawa-Sensei turned in time to duck out of the way.
Tch. What's their goal here? Is it really All Might? But that's the only logical answer. It's natural for him to have so many enemies. But if they're willing to come here like this, they must be pretty confident.
No, they must have a way to kill him. Because All Might is the ultimate hero.
So what is it exactly?
A majority of the thugs were taken care of now. The hand man with the malicious intent ran at Aizawa-Sensei. He ran at him as well.
Aizawa shot a bandage at him, but the man caught it, still running to him. Aizawa lunged forward, catching the bandage and pulled, striking his elbow at the guy. It appeared to be a hit, but on closer inspection the hand man had caught his elbow in his hand.
He leaned down lower to speak to Aizawa. Because of my position in the air, I couldn't hear them. But Aizawa tensed up. What's he saying?
Ah! Aizawa's elbow that the man had caught . . . it looks like it's turning into stone. It cracked, the clothing material crumbled off and his skin began to crack as well, revealing his flesh.
"Aizawa-Sensei!" I shouted from where I was, staring at the man and his Quirk with wide eyes.
Aizawa quickly punched him and jumped back. I stared at his injury. That mans Quirk. I'm not sure what it is, but it can make anything crumble and disappear.
The thugs left began to attack him. Because of his injury and the lengthy time of his fighting with the others, he was struggling a bit.
A man's laugh sounded. It sounds so sadistic. And familiar. "Eraser Head. You sure put up a show, but I'm afraid this is the end for you." My breathing stopped, as did my heart.
My eyes went wide as a familiar guy stepped up, revealing himself for the first time.
The man stood tall. He wore baggy white pants held together by a platinum belt with three jewels hooked onto it. His shirt only covered his pecks with a metal band around on the bottom part, sporting a black jewel. He had white sleeves from his wrist to a bit below his elbow, platinum on the top of it as well. And he has golden wire bands around his neck, a purple jewel on it.
In his unruly black hair, a familiar jewel accessory rested. He looks lean, but his abs and triceps say it all. Because of his hairstyle, you could only see his left eye. Bluish gray eyes filled with malice. Kei.
His smirk fell as he stared down Aizawa-Sensei. "My father has requested your death in the most painful way possible."
My body shook. But not in fear. In rage. Suddenly the giant bird brain appeared behind Aizawa. "Die." Kei spoke. Aizawa turned in time to see the bird man.
He punched him down. His mask flew off and blood splattered. But the bird brain continued to beat on Aizawa. Making more blood fly.
After the bird stopped hitting, Kei walked over to the hand man. I stared at my sensei, who was on the ground, face down, in a pile of his own blood.
The bird brain had hold of his arm, which is twisted sickeningly. The other held his shoulder, keeping him face down. "I'll tell you, Eraser Head. He's the Anti-Symbol of Peace. The bioengineered 'Nomu'." The hand man said.
Aizawa-Sensei. He's alive, but barely. Nomu gripped his arm tighter, making a sickening snap sound as he twisted it even more. Aizawa let out a small shout of pain. "Aizawa-Sensei!!" I shouted. No.
"You can erase Quirks. That's wonderful, but it's nothing impressive. In the face of overwhelming power, you might as well be Quirkless." The villain continued.
Aizawa turned to look at Nomu, erasing his Quirk. But the bird brain slammed his hand down on his other arm, a snap sounding as well. He broke his arm with ease. Such brute strength even with no Quirk. Aizawa doesn't stand a chance.
I need to get out! I began to hit and kick the barrier, watching as Nomu slammed his face into the ground. "Let go of my sensei!" I shouted in rage. Putting more power in my punch, I cracked the barrier more.
Aizawa-Sensei! "Shigaraki Tomura." A familiar voice spoke. I looked over to the hand man to see the warp was now by him. "Kurogiri, did you kill Thirteen?" I clenched my teeth and slammed my fist against the barrier. "KEI!" I roared loudly, making them look up at me.
Kei smirked, staring at me with a sadistic look in his eyes. "I put Thirteen out of action, but there were students that I was unable to disperse and one of them was able to run away." Kurogiri informed.
I hit the barrier, not caring about them. But Kei, who was smirking at me with that evil look in his eyes.
The longer I looked at him, the more rage built within me. My mind began to fog up, coloring it red. Kei.
I could vaguely hear the other two talk, but it didn't reach my ears. No, I was doing everything in me not to go into rage mode.
Kei turned back to him. "You're right. With a bunch of pro-heroes coming, there's no point in staying. Besides, he's not even here." Ah, they're leaving? But if Kei goes . . .
"Oh yeah. Before we leave, let's smash some of his pride as the Symbol of Peace!" Shigaraki turned in the direction of the water that was by the plaza.
Following his gaze, I saw that Izu, Asui, and Mineta were there, watching in horror at what they had witnessed.
Wait, smash his pride? The students. Izu. "Run Izu! Run!" I screamed.
Shigaraki ran at them, surprising them as he made it to them in such a quick time. He reached his hand out for Asui. My eyes widened. She'll crumble away. She'll die.
He stopped, his hand over her face lightly. What? He clucked his tongue. "You really are cool. Eraser Head." He spoke. I glanced down to see Aizawa had his head up. Blood was all over his face. He's bleeding profusely. And his eyes are red with irritation as he kept his gaze locked on him. Desperate to save his students.
Kei stepped up. "I've had enough of you. This is for father." He held his hand up. A purple smoke coated it and he ran at him.
Clenching my teeth I brought my fist back and channeled my strength. I then struck the barrier, destroying it finally. As soon as it was, I was in front of Kei in an instant. His eyes widened slightly. "Get away!" I shouted, punching his abdomen.
He let out a grunt and was flung back due to my power. "Let go of her! Smash!" A strong wind picked up at Izu's shout and I covered my face with my hands as I skidded a bit away due to the intensity of his 'Smash'.
As soon as it died down, I looked in the direction he was at. Nomu had jumped between him and Shigaraki.
"No way." I whispered. He took One For All . . . and he doesn't even have a scratch on him. That's impossible. All Might is the strongest. And Izu inherited his power.
Nomu grabbed Izu's arm and brought back his hand. Asui went to save him, shooting out her tongue, but Shigaraki went to grab both her and Mineta. "IZU!" I began to run, however my hair was grabbed tightly and I was flung back.
After hitting the ground once, I flipped onto my feet. Kei was in front of me, his hand covered in the dark purple mist.
Shit!
He went to stab me with his hand, when a loud bang sounded, making everyone stop. Kei turned his head towards the entrance and clicked his tongue in annoyance. "He's here."
He? Ah. I jumped back, out of his reach and looked over. The heavy doors were busted open. There stood our only chance of survival.
"All . . . Might." Izu whispered. I stared at the hero.
For once, I felt safe. Not because the undefeated smiling hero was here. No.
Because the smiling hero was no longer smiling.
