Chapter 8

"Hey you! How are All Might's classes?" I stood next to a very nervous Izu as the press ambushed us at the gates of U.A. "Uh, excuse me, I have to go to the nurses office!" Izu tried, nervous of all the reporters.

"He means beat it you vultures!" I shouted. I snatched Izu's wrist and dragged him away as they ambushed the next student who entered. Who was Uraraka.

"Will you tell us about what the Symbol of Peace is like as a teacher?" A female reporter questioned. "Wh-what he's like? Um, he's very muscular!" She said, nervous as well.

"Uraraka! Come on!" I shouted. She seemed relieved that I had saved her and she quickly rushed over to us.

The reporters shot me a glare and went to the next student. Iida. "What do you think of All Might as a teacher?" They questioned him.

"Should we save Iida?" Uraraka asked as we watched from the safety within the gates. I thought about it until he opened his mouth. "No, he's got it covered." I smirked.

"He made me recognize anew that I attend an educational institution that is the best of the best. Of course his dignity and character go without saying, but we students are constantly able to see his humorous side. It is a unique opportunity to learn about being a top hero directly from one."

I chuckled as even the reporters couldn't handle Iida's talking. So they pursued someone else. "Come on Iida-Kun!" Izu called.

Iida immediately walked over to us and we headed inside. "Wow, there sure were a lot of reporters again today." Uraraka said, sighing as soon as we were out of range from them. We nodded in agreement.

The news that All Might had been hired as a teacher at U.A. surprised the nation, and the media descended on the school and caused a commotion for days.

Everyone knew about it. And that's everyone. If normal civilians knew of it, then surely villains do as well. And that can be problematic.

Well U.A. has amazing security. I hope that it's enough and no villain is dumb enough to attempt entering this school.

We headed to class as soon as the bell rang. Aizawa-Sensei walked in and he headed to his podium. His gaze lingered on me briefly. I raised an eyebrow. Something's weird.

He's been stealing glances at me more then the others. Did I do something wrong? Okay, scratch that, what did I do to upset him? Well he doesn't seem upset. What's his deal?

Should I talk to him about it? I'd rather not, but it's kind of bugging me now.

"Good work on yesterday's combat training. I saw the video and results. Bakugo, you're talented, so don't act like a kid." I snickered at that.

Kacchan quickly turned in his seat and shot me a nasty glare. "Nozomi, don't act on your own." He told me.

I rolled my eyes, not caring too much about it. "And Midoriya. You settled it by breaking your arm again huh? You can't keep saying you can't help it because you can't control your Quirk. I don't like saying the same thing over and over. As long as you fix the control issue, there's a lot you'll be able to do. Feel a sense of urgency Midoriya."

"Yes sir!" He shouted happily. "Now let's get down to homeroom business. Sorry about the late notice, but today, I'll have you . . ."

Ugh. It better not be another stupid test. I'm tired of them already. "Decide on a class representative."

Oh? An actual normal school activity? That's new. "I want to be class rep! Pick me!" Kirishima shouted. Like I thought, he was the first one to bring the noise.

Soon everyone was shouting they wanted to be class rep. Even . . . My eyes drifted to Kacchan and I sweat dropped. He also really wants to do it.

They're all so loud too. "Silence please!" Iida shouted. Of course, everyone quieted.

"It is a job with the serious responsibility of leading others. It is not a job for just anyone who wants to do it. It is a calling that requires the trust of those around you. If we want to use democracy to decide on a true leader, then we should hold an election to choose one."

Makes sense. That's Iida for you. But . . .

"Your hand is raised the highest!" Everyone shouted at the very excited Iida. "Why did you suggest that?" Kaminari asked him. "We haven't known each other for that long, so how can we have trust or anything?" Asui questioned him.

"If that's the case, and everyone other then Nozomi votes for themselves-" I frowned. "Hey, what makes you think I don't want to be class rep?" I asked the talkative red head.

"Because it requires a lot of work and you have to care about it." He stated. I shrugged. "Fair point." Kid knows me.

"Don't you think that is precisely why whoever receives multiple votes here can be truly considered the most suitable person? What do you think Aizawa-Sensei?"

We turned to see Aizawa-Sensei in his sleeping bag. "I don't care as long as you decide before homeroom is over." He tipped over and began his nap.

"No fair Aizawa-Sensei!" I complained. Why does he get to sleep, but when I do it I get chalk thrown at my head?!

Everyone put in their votes. As suspected, almost everyone got a vote. Izu got three, Yaoyorozu got two. I got zero, which I am perfectly fine with as I don't really care about any of this.

But I did vote for Iida, who only has one vote.

"Why Deku?! Who voted for him?!" Kacchan stood in complete rage. "Why in the world would they tell you? You're going to blow them up." I stated. I rested my cheek in my hand as I looked at him with a bored expression.

He turned to me. "No I wouldn't!" I scoffed at his claim. "Yes you would! You're known for that!" I responded. He stomped over to my desk and we were in a glaring match. "Now, now you two." Aizawa-Sensei stood, still in sleeping bag.

The two with the most votes went to the front. Izu is a nervous wreck. "Then the class rep is Midoriya and the deputy class rep will be Yaoyorozu." This is so boring!

~

"Ugh, is school not over?" I complained, eating my food. Right now it's lunch time and we were in the cafeteria. The very crowded cafeteria.

"Now, now Kiri-Nee. It's half way over." Izu reasoned, a small smile on his face. "There are a lot of people today, too!" Uraraka admired at the mass amount of people.

"That's because everyone in the hero course, support course, and management course meets in the same place." Iida explained. I ate my bowl of rice, enjoying it. Food. It soothes the soul.

Izu sighed. "Even though I've been chosen as class rep, I don't know if I'm qualified for it." He seemed a bit depressed about it. "You are." Uraraka reassured.

"It'll be alright. Your courage and judgment at critical moments make you worth following. That is why I voted for you." Iida told him.

I kind of figured that those two were the ones who voted for him. "But didn't you want to be class rep too, Iida? I mean you've got glasses and everything." Uraraka asked.

Izu jumped at her last statement. I nodded in agreement. "Your total character is class rep, that's why I voted for you." I admitted.

"Thank you Nozomi. Wanting to do it and being suitable for it are different issues. I merely did what I judged to be correct." Huh? His wording.

"Merely?" The three of us asked simultaneously. "You don't usually use that word." Izu told him.

Iida jumped slightly. "I've been thinking, are you a rich boy Iida?" Uraraka asked him. I nodded. "Totally a rich boy." I added.

Iida paled a bit and looked down at his food in defeat. "I tried to change how I talk because I didn't want to be called that."

Hm? The three of us stared at him intently. He sighed upon our intense stares. "Yes, my family has been heroes for generations. I'm the second son." He admitted.

I slapped my hand on the table. "Ha! Called it! You guys owe my twenty bucks!" I grinned at the two. Uraraka clicked her tongue and handed me my money as did Izu.

Iida sweat dropped at us. "Do you know the Turbo Hero Ingenium?" Izu got excited. The topic of heroes is sure to trigger the fan boy. "Of course! He's a really popular hero who has 65 sidekicks working at his Tokyo agency! Don't tell me!"

Ah. We all looked at Iida. "He is my elder brother!" He stood straight, hands on hips, a proud smile on his face.

"So straightforward." I admired. Uraraka nodded as she and Izu looked at him in amazement.

He adjusted his glasses. "He is a likeable hero who honors the rules and leads people. I set my sights on being a hero because I want to be like my brother. However I think it is still too soon for me to lead others. Unlike me, Midoriya realized the point of the practical portion of the entrance exam, so he is more suitable for the job."

Hm. Izu told me he didn't destroy a single robot. Just the zero point one to save Uraraka.

The two of them looked at him in amazement. "This might be the first time I've seen you smile, Iida." Uraraka admitted, a smile on her face.

"What, really? I smile!" He defended, but we chuckled at him. I see now. Ingenium is to Iida what All Might is to Izu and Kacchan. That's some admiration.

"About the entrance exam-" Izu was interrupted by the sound of what sounds like a fire alarm.

Huh? "An alarm?!" Izu shouted in surprise. "There has been a level 3 security breach. All students please evacuate outdoors promptly." The voice over the intercom repeated it again and again.

Iida turned to the person next to him, a Senpai I believe. "What's 'Level 3 security?'" He asked him.

"It means someone is trespassing on school grounds! I've never seen anything like this in the three years I've been here! You should hurry too!" People started rushing out of the cafeteria.

They all tried to leave at once, which caused a blockage. Everyone is in a panic and pushing, shoving, trying to escape first. We headed out as well but ended up being caught in the chaos.

We were being squished. My temple throbbed and I kicked the person in front of me, sending him flying into the person in front. "Personal space moron!" I shouted. As people continued to shove me I delivered it back ten fold.

"Ow! What's going on all of a sudden?" Uraraka asked in pain. "As expected of the best of the best. Everyone reacts quickly in a crisis!" Iida admired.

My annoyance level is steadily rising. "Not the time to be admiring it Iida!" I said in annoyance, shoving the people around me away.

Son of a bitch! "Th-They're so quick that it's causing a panic!" Izu shouted over the shouts of everyone else. "Oh shoot!" Izu was being shoved away from us.

"Izu!"

"Midoriya!"

"Deku!"

Uraraka, Iida, and I shouted. I reached out but he was swallowed up by the crowd. "Izu!" I shouted again. Suddenly I felt myself being swept away. "Eh?! Let go of me you dumbass! Wha!" I started punching but they were just replaced.

"Nozomi!"

"Kiri!"

I clicked my tongue. I got separated. As they continued pushing me farther I began to resort to violent and started wailing on students.

"The hell is your deal you brat?! Ow. You want a piece of me too?!" I shouted and began hitting anyone who got too close to me.

What the hell. Isn't this the hero wannabe school? What kind of heroes are they gonna be if they freak out right here?! This is not how I wanted to spend my lunch break damn it!

"Whoa!" A hand snatched out and grabbed my wrist. Before I could smack them away, I was pulled to Kirishima's side. "You okay Kiri?" I looked up at the red head and was shoved into him by the people passing. "Ow! The hell?" I glared at the students.

Kirishima shouted for them to calm down, but it fell on deaf ears. This is getting really annoying.

Ah!

Iida is floating! Does he have a plan?

He rolled up his pant legs and used his engine. But because he was floating he had little control and spun forward uncontrollably.

"Iida?!" I shouted over the mass in confusion. What the hell is he doing!?

I winced as he slammed into the wall above the doors. "Everyone, everything's fine!" His voice boomed, silencing the crowd like what happened in class today. "It's just the media! There is nothing to panic about! Everything's fine!" He repeated.

Ah? The damn press! "Ack!" Hm? I looked down to see I had a kid with black hair and a headband in a headlock. I quickly released him. He gasped for air. I shrugged. "I don't like being touched." I defended.

I turned my gaze back to Iida. "This is U.A.! Let us act in a way befitting best of the best!" Everyone instantly relaxed and the panic vanished. I sighed in relief and glanced back at Kirishima. "I'm going to find Izu and the others. You might want to check on the others make sure they didn't get hurt." I told him blankly before weaving my way through the crowd.

I immediately spotted someone. "Izu!" He turned and I quickly went to his side. "Kiri-Nee! Are you alright?" He asked.

I nodded but shot a glare at the students around us. "Yeah, no thanks to these losers." But I suppose I should thqnk the noisy red head. He sighed in relief before looking up at Iida in admiration.

After the chaos died down we all went back to class, where I laid my head on the table, not really paying attention as the two reps went to the front. I've listened to Izu stutter plenty of times. It's nothing new.

"N-Now let us decide on the other class officers. But first, can I say something? I think that Iida Tenya should be the class rep after all. He was able to get everyone's attention in such a cool way. I think it would be best for Iida to do it." He said determinately.

I smiled lightly. "I wouldn't say it was cool, but I agree." I voiced. Soon the others began agreeing. Which seemed to touch Iida greatly.

"If the class rep has nominated me then it cannot be helped. From this day forth, I, Iida Tenya, promise to do my best to carry out the duties of class representative."

I chuckled at him. "Always dramatic huh?" I teased. Kirishima gave him thumbs up. "We're counting on you, Emergency Exit! Emergency Exit Iida!" The class began to tease him with the name.

Uraraka, Izu, and I exchanged looks and smiled at one another. Iida really does suit the part better then us. Things are looking good for our class.

~

I sat in my seat in annoyance. I had a bad dream last night, And I've been having this creeped out feeling since then. Not so much creeped but, I don't know how to describe it exactly. I just feel anxious.

I'm sure it'll go away. "For today's hero basic training, it's turned into a class with three instructors. All Might, me, and one more person." Aizawa-Sensei started off.

Huh? Turned into? Why? Sero raised his hand. "Excuse me! What'll we be doing?" He questioned our teacher.

Aizawa-Sensei held up a card reading rescue in English. "Disasters, shipwrecks, and everything in-between. It's rescue training!" I groaned and raised my hand. "Can I just take a failing grade for thi-mpf!" Izu and Kacchan quickly covered my mouth. I shot the two a glare. What the hell? I don't wanna~!

This is so unfair. Unlike me, everyone else was excited about it. They began to talk animatedly about it.

"Hey, I'm not done. You can decide if you want to wear your costumes or not this time. Because there are probably costumes that limit your abilities too."

Aizawa-Sensei pressed a button on the remote that brought our lockers out from the wall. Hm, my costume is meant to be convenient for most situations, so I think it'll be fine.

"The training will take place off-campus so we're taking a bus. That is all. Start getting ready."

He left us. Geez, what a lazy teacher. But, he's good at his job so that counts for something.

I stood along with everyone else and grabbed my costume. Might as well get this over with.

We all quickly changed and waited outside for the bus. I stood next to Izu, staring off into space. He wore his P.E. uniform with his gloves and mask from his hero outfit. "Oh, you're wearing your P.E. clothes. Where's your costume?" Uraraka asked, walking towards us.

Izu smiled nervously. "They got ripped up during the combat training. So I'm waiting for the support company to fix it." He told her. I glanced at Kacchan. "Because someone likes to ruin clothes!" I said loudly.

His temple throbbed and he turned, about to start yelling at me when a whistle interrupted. We turned to Iida. Oh god who gave him a whistle?! "Class 1-A gather round!" He called loudly.

Jeez, such a busy body. "Form two lines by tour student number in order to make boarding the bus go smoothly!" He blew his whistle a couple times as the bus pulled up.

I sighed. "Iid'a going full throttle . . ." Izu and Uraraka sweat dropped. I nodded in agreement. "I kind of regret changing class reps."

They laughed nervously at my statement. We boarded, but the type of bus is different then he thought so Iida got all gloomy. I sat next to Kacchan in one of the two seats. "If we're talking about flashy and strong, it's gotta be Todoroki and Bakugo though, huh?" Hm?

I glanced at the group in the seat that fitted more. Izu was with them along with Asui, Kirishima, Ashido, and them. "Bakugo's always mad, so he doesn't seem like he'll be popular though." Asui spoke.

Of course this struck a nerve. "What the hell! You wanna fight?!" Kacchan shouted, standing up.

I grabbed his arm and forced him down. "Don't stand on the bus it's dangerous. Besides, she's not wrong."

"Huh?! You picking a fight Kiri?! You wanna go?!" He shouted at me. I gave him a blank look. "Do you have any level below shouting?" I asked, which, in all honesty I shouldn't have said if I wanted to calm him down. "See?" She added.

Kaminari chuckled. "We haven't known each other that long, so it's amazing that everyone already knows his personality is crap steeped in sewage." He provoked Kacchan.

He stood again. "What's with that vocabulary bastard?! I'll kill you!" He screamed at him. I jabbed my fingers between his ribs, making him fall in his seat.

He glared at me. "What the fuck Kiri?!" I emitted a dark aura, making him stop growling.

"I can't sleep when you make all that noise so shut the fuck up you annoying little brat!" I hissed  Kacchan glared at me but remained silent. He's not afraid of me, cause he could probably take me in a fight. It's just we have a weird friendship is all.

The others laughed. "Nozomi is the only one who can somewhat control Bakugo." Kirishima laughed. I rolled my eyes. Like anyone can control Kacchan. That's impossible.

He's like a fire left unattended and it spread throughout the entire forest.

The bus ride went on with happy conversation and we arrived in no time in front of a dome like building. There, the Space Hero Thirteen waited for us. "Everyone, I have been waiting for you." He greeted.

The class admired the hero in front of them. As expected of a bunch of hero wannabes. They're always excited to see our teachers.

He led us inside the large building. I whistled, a bit impressed. There was a different disaster placed throughout the building. And you can see it all from where we are.

"Wow, it looks like Universal Studios Japan!" Kirishima admired loudly. "A shipwreck, a landslide, a fire, a windstorm, et cetra. It is a training ground that I made with different types of accidents and disasters. It's called Unforseen Simulation Joint, or USJ for short!" He announced.

Hm, this sure took some work. Aizawa-Sensei walked over to Thirteen. "Where's All Might? He was supposed to meet us here."

He looked around for the moron. Thirteen stepped closer and whispered to Aizawa-Sensei.

Hm? What's up? "It can't be helped. Shall we begin?" He asked. Thirteen turned to us. "Let's see, before we begin, let me say one thing, er, or two or three ... or four or five, six, seven . . ." We all sweat dropped. It's increasing.

Such an unsure teacher. Thirteen held up his hand. Each finger has a cap on it. "Everyone, I am sure you are aware of my Quirk, Black Hole."

Of course. Izu tells me everything about heroes. Whether I want to know or not. "I can suck up anything and turn it to dust."

It's probably a good thing he's a hero then. "You've been able to use that Quirk to save people from all kinds of disasters right?" Izu asked excitedly, already in fan boy mode.

As always.

"Yes, but it is a power that can kill easily. Some of you also have Quirks like that right?" Yeah, that's true.

A lot of Quirks can kill. That's what makes it dangerous. "In a superhuman society, personal Quirks have been certified and stringently regulated so that doesn't seem to be a problem at first glance. However, please do not forget that there are many Quirks that can easily kill with one wrong step."

I wonder how many he's killed on accident. One wrong step. "With Aizawa-Sensei's physical fitness test, you found out about the possibility of your own hidden powers, and with All Might's person to person combat training. I think you experienced the danger of using those powers against others." I glanced at Kacchan.

He has no hesitation using it against a person. But he's sane enough to not kill them so that's a plus.

"This class is a fresh start. You shall learn how to use your Quirks to save people's lives. You do not have powers so you can harm others. I hope you leave here with the understanding that you have powers in order to help others."

Hm. Thirteen sure knows how to use words better then Aizawa-Sensei and All Might, that's for sure.

He bowed. "That is all. Thank you for listening." My classmates cheered loudly and I winced at their volume. They are so noisy.

So what? He just stated the obvious. "Alright then, first-" Aizawa was cut off as the electricity malfunctioned. A cold chill ran through me.

What?! By the fountain below, what looks like a portal began to open.

I watched anxiously as someone with hands all over his costume stepped through, followed by others. No way. It can't be . . . villains?

"Gather together and don't move! Thirteen, protect the students!" Aizawa-Sensei . . . this is serious. "What's that? Is this like the entrance exam where the lessons already started?" Kirishima asked.

He, Izu, and Uraraka were about to take a step forward. "Stop!" I shouted, making them jump in shock.

They looked at me in confusion, Aizawa-Sensei put on his weird goggles. "Those are villains." He told us. Everyone looked at them in horror and shock.

What the hell? What are villains doing in one of U.A.'s locations? What the hell is going on here?!
