Chapter 7

"IZU!" I shouted, running towards my childhood friends. I had slipped out of the observation room as soon as it was declared they won. Kacchan turned to me as I ran over to the unconscious Izu.

I kneeled down next to him and gingerly touched him. His arm is shattered again. And Kacchan definitely broke the other. Some bruises here and there from the battle as well.

I glanced down at Izu's face. You really tried your hardest huh?

Soon All Might and a Robotic mech arrived. He placed Izu on the stretcher and we watched as it took Izu away.

Even though they won, the winners are the ones who can barely stand. Uraraka is nauseas from overriding her Quirk. The losers barely have a scratch on them. An interesting turn out if you ask me.

I turned to Kacchan, who was looking at the ground in anger. He's not taking it well. I'm going to have to watch him from now on.

But at least Izu was able to make it clear. That he's here and he's not backing down.

However . . . Kacchan stared at his right hand, eyes wide and he began to breathe heavily. Kacchan.

All Might and I placed our hands on his shoulder, making him jump a bit. He glanced at us. "Come back, Young Bakugo. It's time to review the results. Whether you win or lose, looking back and learning from your experiences is a part of life." He turned and began to head out.

I kept my hand on Kacchan's shoulder, staring into his eyes. I knew that words wouldn't mean anything, at least not right now. But I wanted to let him know I was here.

I wanted to hit him because of his reckless actions, but that fight was important for them. Izu and Kacchan are both important to me. No matter how much he and I fight, scream, and seem to hate each other all the time; we're not enemies.

He can't quite communicate well with others, that's why he has difficulties expressing himself.

I understand that. That's why I'm the way I am with him. Kacchan is a precious friend. He's just as important to me as Izu. It's just for the meantime; Izu needs me more then him. And Izu is more then willing to accept help, unlike this hothead. "Come on."

We headed back. Uraraka was still a little nauseas but she seems fine otherwise. We all stood in front of All Might. The three who had just completed the exercise stood off together, as they were the source of the topic.

"Well even if I say that, the MVP for this battle was Young Iida!" All Might announced.

Just as I expected of course. "It's not either of the winners Ochaco or Midoriya?" Asui asked, clearly confused. "Hm, well, why is that? Does anyone know?" He asked. Of course Yaoyorozu raised her hand immediately.

"Yes, All Might-Sensei. That is because Iida adapted the most to the context of the training. From watching the match, it appears Bakugo acted on his own because of an obviously personal grudge. And as All Might-Sensei said earlier, it is foolish to launch a large-scale attack indoors. In the same way, taking into consideration the damage he received, Midoriya's plan was also rash."

"As for Uraraka; she let her guard down mid-battle and her final attack was too reckless. If she treated the paper-mache as a real weapon, she would not have been able to do something so dangerous. Iida had prepared for his opponents arrival and assumed it would be a fight over the weapon, which made him late in responding to the final attack."

I raised an eyebrow. "You talk a lot." I stated. People glanced at me.

I was expecting Izu to scold me but he didn't for obvious reasons. Hm. Not nearly as entertaining. But Iida seemed happy by her explanation.

"The hero team only won because they took advantage of the fact that this was training. They were practically breaking the rules." I rolled my eyes. Such a know at all show off she is.

I glanced at the idiot teacher and smirked. Ha. She said more then he expected, and probably explained it better then he would have.

Now there's my amusement. "W-well, Young Iida also has parts of him that could be more relaxed, but well, that was correct." He gave her thumbs up.

"Lame." I deadpanned, making him fall. "Ah! Kiri." Uraraka whispered loudly to me. Ah, there's that scolding.

I shrugged nonchalantly. "We should always start with the basics to develop depth of learning. We must strive to devote ourselves wholeheartedly. Otherwise we cannot become top heroes." She continued.

I groaned loudly. "You're such a nerd." She frowned at me while Uraraka laughed nervously.

I can tell her and I are not going to be on good terms. She's a goody toe-shoes and I . . . well I think it's pretty obvious.

"Alright everyone, let's change locations and start the second match! Tackle this training after thinking about what we just talked about!" All Might announced. "Yes Sir!" The class responded.

Whatever. I stole a glance at Kacchan and sighed. I don't know how to help him right now.

And even if I did, he wouldn't accept my comfort. I'll give him some space for a bit. Then I'll give it a go.

The second battle was an easy win for Todoroki, who froze the 'villains'. He's got a powerful Quirk. Ice and Fire. The winner outcome was obvious from the start. But why did he freeze half of his body?

I glanced at All Might and the rest of our class who shivered. We're in the basement of the building so he kind of made it super cold for them. My body wasn't too affected by the change of temperature so I remained still.

"N-N-Nozomi. Aren't you cold?" Kaminari asked. "No, I'm not a pansy." I stated matter of fact like. Everyone's head drooped at my words.

"Kiri, you need to work on your socializing skills." Uraraka said. I shrugged, uncaringly. It went on like that. Watching the others fight their own battles. The popular ones were of course the ones who came on recommendations. Nerds.

I didn't really participate in the review of them, I just observed silently. Then it came down to my turn.

"Alright, I shall randomly select your opponents, Young Nozomi and Young Uraraka." All Might reached into the boxes. Uraraka gulped nervously as I stood by.

"Yaoyorozu and Kirishima are the villains!" He announced. Hm. I see. Uraraka seemed nervous but the four of us filed out. The villains went in first and we waited.

"I'm so nervous. I didn't do that great the last time." She murmured. I glanced at her briefly. "Don't be nervous. The only one worth worrying about is the one who can actually fight, that idiot Kirishima." She sweat dropped.

"Such harsh words." I shrugged. "It's the truth." I stated matter of fact like. She sighed and looked at the building in front of us.

"What if I screw up like last time. I don't want to make a fool of myself like earlier." She murmured.

She's really down about that huh? Well Izu would be too if he heard that brain go off about their mistakes. "Don't worry, I'll take care of it." She looked at me curiously. "Come to think of it, what is your Quirk?" She asked me.

I smirked. "I'm Quirkless." I stated. Her eyes went wide with shock. "What?! Are you serious?!" I nodded, glancing briefly at the building.

Before she could ask more, the buzzer went off, signaling us to enter. "Because Izu and Kacchan tried so hard, so will I."

I ran, pretty fast. Like I said, I like to consider myself a ninja. I jumped up and scaled the building before entering the fourth story window. I threw some tape down to Uraraka. She grabbed the end and I pulled her up.

"Wow. You're fast." She admired as I helped her in. I shrugged uncaringly. I concentrated on my surroundings. My ears twitched.

There's a faint sound of footsteps. Up ahead, around the corner. Too heavy to be Yaoyorozu. Besides, based on her last fight she's not one for one on one fighting. Kirishima. I shushed Uraraka.

Just this once, I'll go along. Because Izu tried so hard. "I'll make this quick." I spoke. Not only for Uraraka, but for All Might who was listening via ear piece. I took off running.

Because of my training it was light tapping, my run is relatively quiet, as are my steps. I've worked on stealth quite frequently.

As I ran, just as predicted, Kirishima lunged from around the corner and went to strike.

I jumped up, kicked off the wall, went upside down, and whipped the capture tape out. I let a lot out and skillfully tossed it over him before yanking it, making it close quickly around Kirishima.

I landed easily and tore the tape off as Kirishima fell, wrapped in tape. I continued running. Let's see. It shouldn't be too far. As I ran I could vaguely hear the sound of steel hitting each other. Found you.

I turned and found the room. Yaoyorozu was working on sealing it off. But upon seeing me she jumped back. I easily hopped over the steel beams she was using to seal off.

She used her Creation Quirk to create a steel pipe weapon and swung it at me. I blocked it with my arm and grabbed the bottom. Taking control of her weapon I moved it up and it struck her under her chin. She let out a cry as she fell.

She stood as quickly as she could. I threw part of the tape and used it like a whip as it wrapped around her ankles, making her fall again.

I technically just captured both of them. Might as well do it. I hopped over her and walked to the weapon. I gently placed my hand on it, 'retrieving' it.

"Heroes win!" All Might announced through the ear piece. Easy. I turned and headed back out as Yaoyorozu was tearing off the tape around her ankles. Geez. That was too much effort.

Uraraka rushed in. "Wow! So quickly." She murmured. She also has heard the announcement. I yawned loudly. "C'mon, I'm tired." I grumbled. She grinned and followed after.

We all headed back. "Man! That was too quick! How'd you do that?" Kirishima asked as the four of us headed back down.

"I wrapped the tape around you." I stated. He shook his head. "It was like you knew I was there though." He pried. "You run too loudly." I deadpanned.

He jumped. "Eh?! I do?!" I nodded my head. "Yeah. Besides, you're too predictable." I continued. "EH?!" He shouted in disbelief. He stood on my left and Uraraka was on my right. I glanced back at Yaoyorozu who trailed behind us.

She's been awfully quiet. And she's not walking next to us. Is her pride hurt? Well whatever. It's not my problem.

We entered the room where the others waited. "That was amazing Nozomi!" Ashido admired. The others looked riled up. I ignored them and stood by, the others following.

I ignored them as the review began and glanced at Kacchan, who was still out of it. He's also been awfully quiet. After the review All Might led us outside.

"Good work everyone! We didn't have any major injuries other than Young Midoriya either! You guys took this on seriously! You all did a good job on your first training!" All Might praised us.

"To have such a proper class after Aizawa-Sensei's class . . . It's kind of anticlimactic." Asui spoke. The whole class sweat dropped, thinking about our insane teacher.

The idiot teacher struck a pose. "We're free to have proper classes as well! Well then, I must review the results with Young Midoriya! Change and return to the classroom!" He took off at full speed, leaving us in the dust.

What a moron. I followed after him slowly. "Kiri? Where are you going?" Uraraka asked me. I held my hand up, not looking back.

"I'm gonna take a nap in the nurses office." I told her lazily. "EH?! Skipping is prohibited! Nozomi!" Iida shouted after me. I ignored him and left them.

I got to check up on Izu. He was badly injured. And other then All Might I'm the only one who knows why. I believe that earns me a free pass. Besides I've never been a proper student.

I made it to the nurse's office in no time. All Might was there, and in his scrawny form. In front of Recovery Girl at that. "Young Nozomi? You should be in class." All Might said.

I ignored him and walked over to the bed where Izu lay. "Yeah." I agreed. I glanced at the two adults out of the corner of my eye. "So Recovery Girl knows." I stated.

All Might jumped. "And it seems another student also knows of your secret." She spoke. The moron nodded. "Yes. She was there to witness it first hand. And she is very close with Young Midoriya. I understand you're worried but you should head to class." He tried.

I ignored him and headed to an empty bed. "Don't feel like it." I slipped into the bed next to Izu and got under the covers.

Nurses offices are always a great place to nap

"Young Nozomi!" I turned my back to them and closed my eyes, beginning my peaceful sleep. He sighed. "Jeez." He muttered to himself.

"I should be the one saying that. I know he's your favorite and that you passed on your powers to him, but that doesn't mean you should spoil him!" Recovery Girl scolded.

"There is nothing I can say to that. Because I wanted to consider his feelings I hesitated to stop the training match. Even so . . . will you please not talk about One For All so loudly?" He asked her.

Or so I thought I'd begin my peaceful sleep. "Yes, yes, Mr. Natural Born Hero. Mr. Symbol of Peace." Recovery girl teased him.

"My injury and this form of mine are common knowledge among the U.A. teachers and a certain group of pros. But the secret of my Quirk, One For All, is known to you, the principle, my close friends, and Young Midoriya and Young Nozomi." He reminded her.

I continued to eavesdrop on the two. "I know it's not like you want to rest on your laurels at the top, but is being a 'natural born hero' or the Symbol of Peace' really that important?" She asked.

A serious atmosphere filled the room, making sleep impossible. "If I no longer am, then the superhuman society will be seized by evil. This is the responsibility of those of us with this power." All Might spoke.

An image of a wicked villain flashed through my mind. An evil man who destroyed my life. It makes sense, what All Might says. If he ever figured it out, he'd use it to his advantage. And it would be disastrous if he seized our society.

My mind flashed to a grinning Izuku. He will be the one with that responsibility . . . This is a heavy burden to bear for someone so young.

But . . . if it's what he wants I must respect his wishes.

But a Hero?

There are none. That is the reality.

"Jeez Kiri-Nee. Why'd you skip classes?" Izu scolded as we headed back. It's late afternoon, classes are done. In fact the sky was painted different shades of orange. That's how late it was.

"I was tired." I whined. He sighed, looking down. "Aizawa-Sensei is going to wrap us in those bindings." He said gloomily.

I rolled my eyes. "It's fine. No big deal." I stated. He shook his head at me. We soon made it to class. Izu opened up the door with his none broken arm. "Oh, Midoriya's here!" Kirishima's loud voice called.

Huh? Inside was . . . everyone. What are they doing here? "Good work!" Him and some others surrounded him. My lips twitched into a small smile before disappearing. I need to change out of my hero clothes.

I walked past the group praising Izu and to my locker. My school uniform's inside.

I grabbed it and jumped as Iida appeared next to me. "You skipped the rest of classes! Skipping is prohibited! Your actions have consequences." He began scolding me but I blocked him out. God he's loud.

He's more of a goody-goody then Yaoyorozu. Iida stopped scolding and turned, heading to the desks. I watched as he went to scold Tokoyami for sitting on the desk. Well at least it's not me.

"Iida, does it really matter?" I asked. He immediately turned back to me. "I cannot condone the actions of those who disobey and disrespect school rules and regulations!" I sighed loudly. "Man you're noisy."

The doors opened and in came Kaminari and Uraraka. He was asking her if she wanted to grab a bite. But as soon as she saw Izu she rushed over and asked if he was okay. "Um, Uraraka, more importantly . . . where's Kacchan?"

Yeah, he is one of the few that didn't stay behind. "We all tried to stop him but he went home just now without saying anything."

Izu looked thoughtful. "I'll be back, I need to do something real quick." He excused himself before running off.

"That was weird." Kirishima stated. Izu, Kacchan . . .

Whatever conversation they're about to have isn't my place to speak. But . . . I looked out the window.

After a bit I saw them. Izu just caught up to Kacchan who was by the gates. I watched carefully. And by the looks of things, Kacchan's pissed. Then again when isn't he?

Tch. I can't hear a thing. Maybe I should have followed. Ah, he's yelling. Well, that's to be expect- my eyes widened in shock.

Kacchan . . . is crying.

He shouted some more before turning. Kacchan crying? That's a rare sight. But, he seems less negative. No, he's almost over it. He did it on his own.

Ah. All Might showed up out of no where and caught Kacchan, grabbing hold of his shoulders. Is he trying to console him? Kacchan said something to him and he left on ahead.

What a moron. "What was that?" Hm? I turned to see Ashido, Uraraka, and Asui by me, looking out as well. "The fated battle between men." Uraraka said, a bit pumped by it.

"It looked like Midoriya was just giving excuses one-sidedly though." Asui responded. "The fated battle between men!" Uraraka repeated. I chuckled at that. "The fated battle between men." I agreed with her, making her grin.

I turned back and watched Kacchan's back as he left. His fuse has been lit. Perfect. He's back to being himself. After all, he and Izu are the ones who declared they would show me that heroes do exist.

Because the two of them want to be the number one hero, just like All Might.
