Chapter 5

Uraraka cheered loudly. Good job. Ah! Kacchan! I turned to him to see him looking at him in anger. "What is the meaning of this?" Explosions danced across the palm of his hands.

Uh-oh. He ran. "Hey! Tell me what's going on, Deku you bastard!" I ran as well catching up in no time. I turned fast and slammed my leg into his abdomen, knocking the breath out of him. He flew back and rolled on the ground harshly.

He stood. "Kiri. "He seethed. I stood in front of Izu. He launched again. He went to hit, but I evaded it before punching him in the face. I grabbed his shoulder and pulled him to me, slamming my knee into his stomach.

As he was hunched over I moved back and brought my leg up before slamming it onto his back, making him fall with that axe kick. I stepped on his back, keeping him to the ground.

He glared up at me. "Kiri." I glared at him. "We're in the middle of class. Stop fighting." I demanded. He pushed up. "You bitch!" I was caught off guard and he went to hit me with his explosion. Pain exploded and I flew back with a yelp.

Ouch.

I stood and looked to see the sleeve of my uniform burned off. Anger coursed through me and I emitted a murderous aura. "Oh? You want to fight?" I asked him darkly. He kept glaring at me. I ran fast and punched him in the face.

He grunted and went to hit me. I jumped away and he blew up part of the ground. Keeping my fists up, I launched at him. We evaded each others attacks. When Kacchan went to blow me up, bandages wrapped around him.

His Quirk effectively cut off. I turned to Izu and grabbed his hand examining his finger. Tch. I sighed, shaking my head, before turning and heading back to the others.

Uraraka looked at him worriedly. I had my arms crossed, watching the two with Iida. "That was impressive. Martial arts?" He asked. I shrugged. "Yeah. Something like that." I muttered.

After the whole, Kacchan rampage, we went to continue the test. Sit-ups, stretching, and long distance run. They were easy for me, and after seeing Aizawa's reaction to Izu, I did my medium best for those. He won't expel Izu. He likes the kid.

We all gathered in front of Aizawa as he displayed our totals. As expected, Izu was the last. I got sixth place and a scolding from Aizawa about being a slacker.

"By the way I was lying about the expulsion." He put in casually, taking everyone off guard. After it all, he headed inside. On his way, he handed a nurse slip to Izu.

I stretched. "Good for you, Izu." He turned to me and nodded, smiling. "Thanks' for believing in me Kiri-Nee." I smiled a bit and ruffled his head. "Get going."

He nodded and headed inside. I glanced at Kacchan, stomping away. I quickly ran to him and leaned on him. "Kacchan, are you still mad?" He turned fast, trying to hit me. I dodged and jumped back next to Iida, and a red head. "I take that as a yes."

He was trying to control his rage. "Hey, Kiri, come with me. We need to talk." I placed my hands on my hips.

"I don't know if I want to do that. I feel like you're just going to get angry and try to blow me up." I stated.

"I will not!" He shouted. I made a face. "You blew me up last year when we were studying together and I pointed out you were wrong." His eye twitched. "Or last month when I ate the last popsicle at your place. Or how about first year of junior high when I scored higher then you. Or in third grade when I won our soccer tournament."

"You should have avoided it." He grumbled. My temple throbbed. "You shouldn't blow me up for childish reasons!" I shouted. We glared at each other before he turned away.

I shook my head. "Such a troublesome child." I grumbled. Uraraka laughed nervously at that. "We should head inside." I nodded and everyone walked in.

"By the way, Nozomi-Chan." I glanced at the bubbly girl. "You seem to know Bakugo and ah . . . Deku." I fell a bit.

The red head nodded, stepping up. "Yeah. I couldn't tell you and Bakugo were close if it wasn't for what you call him and what you just said."

I nodded. "Yes, I've know those two all my life. We've been friends since childhood. Well, I have to them. Kacchan just keeps picking on Izu. Little brat." I grumbled.

He laughed nervously and we went our separate ways to get changed. Once we were, we went on with afternoon classes. Once school was over, I walked with Izu home.

I glanced at him. He's totally worn out. One for All sure takes a toll on him. A hand reached out and grabbed Izu's shoulder. We glanced back to see the person. I blinked in surprise as Izu jumped.

"I-Iida-kun!"

"Iida?"

Izu and I spoke simultaneously. "Is your finger alright?" He asked. Izu smiled and held up his wrapped finger. "Yeah, thanks to Recovery Girl." I blanched at the name given to the old lady. I don't care what anyone says, that's weird.

Iida walked by me and we continued forward. "I was really taken in by Aizawa-Sensei. I even thought this is the best of the best and such. I didn't think a teacher would encourage us with a lie."

I watched Iida carefully. I didn't really like him because he scared Izu, but he's just an earnest person. He's not bad at all.

"Hey! You three!" Hm? We turned to see the girl with brown hair run our way. It's gravity girl. "Going to the station? Wait for me!" She was smiling widely. The corner of my lip twitched up a bit. Awe, she's cute.

"Uraraka-San?!" Izu shouted a bit. Ah, that's right; other then me, Izu has had zero contact with the opposite sex.

No experience with girls.

"You're the infinity girl." Iida spoke. Ah that's right. Her baseball never came back down.

She stopped in front of us and smiled. "I'm Uraraka Ochaco. Um, you're Iida Tenya, Nozomi Kiri, and Midoriya . . . Deku right?" She asked. I quickly covered my mouth to cover my laugh.

"Deku?!" Izu asked loudly. "It's Kiriya, but you can call me Kiri." I informed her. She nodded but turned to Izu along with Iida. "Huh? But during the fitness test, the boy named Bakugo said 'Deku you bastard' right?" I sweat dropped at the image of a screaming Katsuki.

She's not wrong. "Um, my real name is Izuku, but D-Deku is what Kacchan calls me to make fun of me." He explained to her.

"An insult?" Iida asked. I nodded my head, confirming it. "Oh, is that right? Sorry! But 'Deku' sounds like the Japanese word for 'You can do it!' so I kind of like it." She said. Izu turned bright tomato red. "I'm Deku!"

I fell at that. "I-Izu . . ." Shaking my head I straightened up. "Midoriya-Kun?! You're accepting it too easily! Wasn't that an insult?" Iida asked, unaware of why his sudden behavior towards his name.

I laughed nervously as Izu buried his blushing face in his hands. "It's like the Copernican Revolution . . ." He murmured. I could still see his blush even with his hands covering his face. Uraraka and I blinked. "Co-pe?"

Izuku . . . Sighing, we continued our way towards the station. I glanced at them. I stood between Izu and Iida and Uraraka stood on Izu's other side. I've never walked home with someone other then Izu or Kacchan.

This is new. I glanced at Izu who was smiling, having a conversation with the two who joined us on the walk so easily.

I couldn't help but smile lightly. Izu, you made some friends. Good for you.

~

I yawned loudly as we made our way to Hero Basic Training. In the morning we had normal classes, which I slept through with ease, then lunch, and in the afternoon it's Hero Training.

Izu sweat dropped. "Kiri-Nee, you shouldn't sleep through classes." He warned. Iida nodded his head rapidly. "Sleeping in class is not allowed! You need to focus on your studies or-"

"But it was so boooring~!" I whined with little emotion. Uraraka laughed from next to me as we entered the classroom. Iida sighed, shaking his head. Surprisingly we get along fine, and I enjoyed being with the two of them along with Izu.

I took my seat next to Todoroki and we all waited. "I am . . !" A familiar voice began loudly. The door opened and All Might stepped through it, pretty oddly at that. "Coming through the door like a normal person!" He finished.

I sweat dropped as the class bubbled with excitement. "Idiot." I muttered under my breath. Does he need to be so flashy? He even managed to walk to the podium in a flashy manner. God he's stupid.

"I teach Hero Basic Training. It is a subject where you train in different ways to learn the basics of being a hero. You'll take the most units of this subject." He struck a pose. "Let's get right into it! This is what we'll do today! Combat Training!" He held up a card that had Battle written across it in English.

I could feel Katsuki's excitement from here. "And to go with that are these!" He pointed the far off wall. They moved forward and I realized they're fancy like lockers that slid into the wall.

Hm. "Costumes made based on your Quirk registrations and requests sent in before school started." Everyone became excited, much to my annoyance.

"After you change, gather in Ground Beta!" He told us. Everyone immediately went to their locker that had their seat number and grabbed their things.

I went to the locker-room with the other girls to change. Most of the girls changed in front of each other. But I went into the shower to change in private.

Once I was done I stepped out and glanced at a full body mirror. I wore a tight black sleeveless shirt with gray armor that only covered my chest, no sleeves or anything. I also wore a short black skirt over short black shorts. I had separated kimono sleeves a little over my elbow on both my arms and a red cloth around my waist but only covered my behind and went down to my calf's. I had two black belts around each of my thighs for any weaponry I cared to sport, and knee high gray boots.

I had designed it myself. It kind of made me look like a ninja, and that's what I was going for.

Content with my outfit, I headed to the meeting place. Izu was running, since we were a bit behind. He spotted me. "Kiri-Nee, hurry!" I rolled my eyes and kept my pace. Because of it I was the last one to arrive. And I must say, everyone had pretty nifty looking costumes.

I stood with everyone as All Might explained what we were doing. We're doing 2 v. 2 heroes and villains to perform an indoor situation of a battle.

Simple enough. The situation itself is that the villains have hidden a nuclear weapon somewhere in their hideout. The heroes need to either capture the villains or get the nuclear weapon back in the allowed time. The villains need to protect the weapon or catch the heroes. Really simple rules here.

All Might held a box. "Teams and opponents will be determined by drawing lots! However there is one extra person, so there will be some of you going twice." I blinked. Well then.

"They're being decided so haphazardly?" Iida asked, from his knight like outfit. "Pros often have to create makeshift teams with heroes from other agencies and maybe that's why." Izu explained.

"I see. The discernment to look ahead. Please excuse my rudeness." Iida bowed. All Might turned, fist in the air. "It's fine. Let's do this quickly!"

Sighing, I watched curiously. Team A is Izu and Uraraka. Team B is Todoroki and Shoji. Team C is Yaoyorozu and Mineta. Team D is Kacchan and Iida. Team E is Aoyama and Ashido. Team F is Koda and Sato. Team G is Kaminari and Jiro. Team H is Asui and Tokoyami. Team I is Hagakure and Ojiro. Team J is Kirishima and Sero.

That just left me out. "Young Nozomi, I'll let you pick your partner." Huh? I gave him a flat look. "Can't I just take a failing grade? I don't feel like it." I stated.

Immediately Izu was by my side. "Kiri-Nee, you can't just skip! It's not good! This is the first day and you need to obey the rules and follow classes!" I groaned loudly, not happy in the slightest.

Guess I can't skip. Skimming the students, I couldn't quite decide. I really don't feel like doing anything. Maybe I should just pick someone strong to do all the work. Meh, I don't really care. "Uraraka." I stated. She seemed surprised that I had picked her.

Oh well. We get along, works for me.

If I had picked Izu if get worried on who we'd go against. Besides, he's to earnest. And Kacchan was a no go.

I have no intention of trying to win and that'd just piss him off. He doesn't take losing well. In fact I can't remember the last time he lost anything.

All Might nodded. All Might had two boxes on either side of him. One read Hero the other Villain. Reaching into both, he pulled out little plastic balls with letters written on it. First up is Team A; hero, Vs. Team D; villains.

Wait. A and D. Eh?! Izu Vs. Kacchan?!

"Everyone else, head towards the monitor room." All Might said. "Yes, sir!" The class responded. I made no motion to move though. Izu Vs. Kacchan. No. This can't happen. It just can't.

I can't let this happen. "I'll be fine Kiri-Nee." Izu tried. I shot him an incredulous look. "I know you're worried about me, but this is my fight. Please have faith in me." Izu . . .

Sighing I nodded and followed after the students. Villains were to go in first and set up, then five minutes later the hero team enters. I was not in the least bit happy of the teams. Why, why is it those two. Tch.

So annoying.

The rest of us gathered in the large monitor room. One wall was filled with screens projecting the image of the inside of the building. One screen portrayed Kacchan, Iida, and a fake missile.

"Ah, ah. Kacchan's angry." I murmured to myself. "When isn't he?" Kirishima asked playfully. But I wasn't playful. I was staring at the screen intently. "Are you that worried about them?" Asui asked.

I was silent for a bit, even as All Might came in. "This fight isn't just a fight for them." I murmured. Izu wants to prove Kacchan wrong. He wants to prove that he is worthy of being a hero.

And Kacchan is angry. He thinks Izu hid his Quirk from him. And admitting Izu has grown a bit stronger is like he's diminishing his own strength. There's some bad blood between the two. Something like this isn't going to help the situation all that much. But by chance it does, it'll only anger Kacchan even more.

Kacchan is a piece of work, yes. But his goal, his confidence, his physical strength, his Quirk, and even his strategic skills are amazing. He may act like a villain most of the time, but his goal is so pure. He's worked hard all his life to become a great hero.

Izu, although was Quirkless, holds the kindness, the passion, and the spirit to become a hero. But he's timid, and allowed himself to be picked on. His self confidence is shot. But ever since we met All Might, I've seen some of it rise.

What a troublesome duo they are. Always making me worry. Always making the situation tense. Always fighting and belittling. Always forgetting the friendship they once had.

Idiots.

"Now let's start the indoor person-to-person combat training with Team A and Team D!" All Might said. I noticed a little communication device in his ear and the microphone. I see.

He glanced back at us. "Okay everyone, you all should think as well." He then turned back to the screens. I did as well, focusing on the people they portrayed. Izu . . . Kacchan . . .

Izu and Uraraka entered through a window and were walking down the hallways. The halls are narrow, and plenty of blind spots. It wouldn't be wise to fight in them. It could bring down the building.

Ah! Kacchan found them! I watched as he struck where they once were. Lucky Izu reacted quickly and tackled Uraraka away from the blast, but it tore some of his costume.

Kacchan stood, even without sound and over the screen, the confidence brimming off of him was superb. Well this was to be expected. As predicted, Kacchan was the one to find them leaving Iida to guard the missile.

And for a surprise attack like he did . . . way to go Kacchan. "A surprise attack from the start?" Mineta asked. He, like the others, were caught off guard by it. "Bakugo, that's cheating! A surprise attack isn't manly at all!" Kirishima protested from next to me.

I kept my eyes on the screen. "No. A surprise attack is the best thing one can do in that situation." He looked at me incredulously. "A villain doesn't want a battle. He wants what he aimed for. If a hero comes by to stop you, the best thing you can do is take them out in one strike that they aren't prepared for. Take them out as quickly as you can and you win. Simple." I stated.

"Young Nozomi is right. It was a nice strategy." All Might backed me up. Of course if I figured it out, then Izu was probably prepared for it as well.

After all, we know Kacchan's moves better then anyone. "Midoriya avoided it!" Ashido admired. "There goes Bakugo!" Kaminari said, eyes glued to the screen.

Kacchan ran at them and went for his typical right swing, to which Izu also predicted. He grabbed his arm and flipped him over his shoulder and slamming him to the ground.

A small smile made its way onto my lips as I stared in awe. "Izu." Good job. I guess watching Kacchan and I fight for years has helped him out. No, Izu has always admired Kacchan. Even if he terrorized him.

Izu took a stance and Kacchan stood, anger evident on his features. Small explosions went off in the palm of his hands. Ah-ah. He's even angrier then before.

Izu . . . Kacchan . . .
