Chapter 30

There were many emotions everyone had the next day. Most of them are happy and relieved. But there is a handful . . .

My gaze flickered to Kirishima, Kaminari, Ashido, and Sato. "Everyone, I'm looking forward . . . to hearing your stories-about training camp." Ashido spoke between her cries.

Yeah, there were two groups that failed the exam.

Izu fretted about. "W-We don't know for sure yet! There might be a last minute twist!" He tried, always one to help.

Sero placed his hand on his shoulder. "Stop Midoriya. If you say it out loud, it'll probably jix it."

I glanced over at him. "I don't know why you're not worried. All you did was sleep." He hung his head, gloom going about him. He was literally knocked out as soon as it started.

"Ah, Sero, it's okay! Kiri-Nee!" Izu whined.

I shrugged, crossing my arms over my chest. "If we failed the exam, then we'd have to skip training camp and be in summer school hell. And since we didn't pass the practical exam, if you guys still don't get it you're dumber than monkeys!"

Kaminari jabbed Izu in the eye. "Don't you have the second worst grades in the class?"

He fell to his knees, gloom twice as apparent. Sero sighed. "Well, I don't know either. Our team passed thanks to Mineta, but like Kiri said, I was just sleeping the whole time. Anyway, since we don't know how they're scoring it-"

Kaminari interrupted him. "If you feel bad for us, then I dunno, just bring me back lots of stuff!" He cried out in despair and anger.

I rolled my eyes. I don't feel bad for them.

Besides, it's a training camp. Training isn't exactly a vacation. It's work.

The door slid open and Aizawa-Sensei walked in. "Once the bell rings, get in your seats." But as he entered, everyone scurried into their seats and waited in silence.

He walked up to the podium and faced us. "Morning. Unfortunately, there are those who did not pass the final exams."

The four of them went back to their gloomy state. "Accordingly, for the training camp in the woods . . . everyone's going!" Well obviously. It's training.

And those idiots are probably going to get the worst of it all.

The four of them cried out in anguish and joy. "A last minute twist!" They shouted in unison.

"We can go too?!" Kirishima asked excitedly. "Really?!" Ashido cried in joy at his words.

"Yeah. Some failed, but no one failed the written exam. In the practical; Kirishima, Kaminari, Ashido, Sato, and Sero failed."

Sero slapped his hand to his face, a depressing atmosphere around him.

"I knew it. Just because my team passed didn't mean I scored high enough not to fail."

Tough break. He was against Midnight though. Surprised Mineta won. Midnight praised the kid at home.

"For this time's exam, we on the Villain side made sure to leave a way for the students to win while watching to see how you all would take on the task at hand. If we hadn't, most of you would've gotten stuck before you started."

Obviously. There's a giant gap between us. I mean I could've handled any other Hero better, but All Might is the strongest and the fastest.

I usually have greater strength than men and women, but not nearly as much as his.

I had to use that damn useless Quirk of mine.

"So when you said you were really out to crush us . . ." Ojiro started.

"That was to make you feel cornered. In the first place, the training camp in the woods is one to increase strength. So those who failed need it the most. They have to get stronger. It was a rational falsehood." He smiled that weird ass smile.

The one when he's tricked us.

Again and again.

The four idiots shouted loudly. "I was tricked again! As expected of U.A." Iida stood and raised his hand high into the air. "However since you lied to us twice, our faith in you will waver!"

I didn't really have that much faith in with to start though.

Uraraka laughed. "Wow, you're being a wet blanket Iida."

"That's true. I'll consider that. But I wasn't lying about everything. Failure is failure." His eyes sharpened as he looked at the five who failed.

They froze mid cheer at his gaze. "We have prepared a separate time for extra lessons for you all."

They turned to stone. "Frankly, it'll be tougher than the extra lessons you'd get if you stayed at school." They crumbled at his words.

Classes went by in a breeze, and before we knew it, school ended.

We all gathered our things together. I shoved the guide Aizawa-Sensei gave me in my bag as Ojiro spoke. "Well, in any case, I'm glad we can all go together." He smiled.

Iida, Izu, and Kaminari peered at Iida's open guide book. "A week of training camp, huh?" Iida mulled. "We'll have to bring a lot with us." Izu said thoughtfully.

Do we? Clothes, but that's it, isn't it?

"I don't have a bathing suit or anything. I'll have to buy a bunch of stuff." Kaminari said as he thought about it.

I doubt we're going to swim. "Oh! Then since we're off tomorrow and we just finished our exams, why doesn't Class A all go shopping together?!" Hagakure asked gleefully.

I bet if we could see her she's grinning widely.

Everyone seemed to perk at this. "Oh, good idea! Wouldn't that be the first time we all hung out together?" Kaminari asked excitedly.

"Hey Bakugo, you're coming too!" Kirishima turned to Kacchan who began to walk away.

As expected. "Like I'd come to something so irritating." Hm.

Walking over I wrapped my arms around his neck and went boneless on his back. "Eh? C'mon Kacchan. Tell you what. You come, and I won't post those pictures of you online."

He turned and I stepped back quickly.

"Shut up! How dare you blackmail me after selling them?!" I tilted my head. "If you don't come . . . I'll tell your mom."

He immediately went stiff and shook with anger. But he didn't say anything. He can't. He's terrified of her, he won't admit it, but he is.

He turned again. "FINE! I'll go to the damn mall with you, you dumbass!" He roared as he walked out.

"Nice work Kiri!" Kirishima gave me a thumbs up. I returned the gesture, but didn't show much emotion.

"Well, there you go. Kacchan will take my place, wha!" Ashido hopped onto my back. "You have to come Kiri!"

"Huh? No way." I stated, walking with her on my back. "But it'll be good for you. It'll be fun. Please Kiri-Nee!" Izu stepped in front of me, hands clasped, and his green, big doe eyes, gleaming.

My eye twitched. "Ghek." He seemed to sparkle.

I sighed and hung my head. "Fine. But you're coming too!" I pointed at Todoroki.

"I go visit my mom on our days off." He said, putting the strap of his bag across his chest.

I placed my hands on my hips as Ashido hopped off in excitement. "You can do both." My tone leaving no room for debate.

Izu walked over to him, still smiling. "She's right. You can." He agreed. Todoroki didn't show much, but a light sweat is on his forehead. "Then I guess I'll go for a bit." He agreed.

~

The next day we all met up at the mall.

I decided to wear a pair of black skinny jeans, gray boots, a gray tank top, and the beanie Izu gave me for my birthday with two little cat ears on top.

"And so here we are! With the most stores in the prefecture, the newest and coolest, most advanced- Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall!" Ashido cheered loudly.

"Do you have to narrate?" I asked, but she just ignored me, my mood not dampening hers.

It is different seeing everyone in normal wear. Kind of interesting really. I'll never admit it to her though.

Some people recognized us from the Sports Festival and were actually pretty happy to see them.

Weirdos. Everyone talked about what they wanted to get, but I just blocked them out. I don't really need anything.

Ah, but I could do with some summer wear. "Everyone has different things they want to do, so why don't we decide on a time to meet back up?" Kirishima suggested.

Ashido and Hagakure stuck their hands in the air. "We agree!" They cheered in unison.

"Then let's meet back here at 3 o'clock!" He called loudly. "Okay!" Everyone agreed.

Three huh? That's two hours to shop. "Kacchan, what are you going to get?" I asked my annoyed friend.

I literally dragged him here. I went to his house and dragged him here. "I need some new workout clothes." Kirishima popped next to us. "Me too!" He grinned cheekily.

We nodded to one another and set off as a group of three.

Kacchan led us to a sports store and we browsed. "Ah. Kacchan, look." I smirked, holding up a pair of mens athletic shorts with sticks of dynamite printed onto them.

His temple throbbed and he got close. "Don't mess around and go get your shit!" I chuckled, putting the shorts back. "Yes, yes."

I ventured off to the women's side and looked around. I picked out a couple of shorts and sports bras.

After paying we headed to another store. This one mainly for me. It's the only store I actually like, and Kacchan knows it.

We entered the dark themed store. Yep. Darker styles, just how I like it.

Kirishima looked around and nodded. "This does seem like you're style. Ah! Check it out!!" He grabbed a leather jacket and tried it on. He turned. "Do I look cool?"

"No." Kacchan and I answered simultaneously, making him cry.

"So cruel!" He complained. Kacchan walked over to check out the fingerless gloves. "It doesn't match your pants idiot." He told him.

Kirishima looked down at his khakis and sweat dropped. "You're right."

Kacchan handed me a few clothes to try on and I did. Like I thought, he really does know my style. "Bakugo, you don't seem like the type to go shopping with a girl." Kirishima admitted.

We glanced over at him. "Huh?! What's that supposed to mean?! I always pick out Kiri's clothes." Kirishima's eyes widened and he looked between us.

"Are you two a thing?" He asked in a hushed whisper.

Huh?

Kacchan and I looked at each other before back at him. "You really are stupid." Kacchan said, and I nodded in agreement.

"Definitely." Why would he even think that? "But you two are . . . well you're kind of close. Sometimes at least." He mulled, looking up thoughtfully.

I sighed, looking at some dark themed plaid skirts. "We're childhood friends. He's practically my little brother, same as Izu."

"What?! How dare you compare me to that damn Deku!" He shouted.

I reached over and smacked him upside the head. "Don't yell in public places, it's rude." I said, picking up a red plaid skirt with chains attached to it.

He growled lowly, rubbing his head. Kirishima laughed. "You two are funny!" We looked at him weirdly. He really is a strange one.

And to my surprise, Kacchan actually relaxed, even with Kirishima here.

Now that I think about he's been hanging around Kacchan for a while now. Kacchan even helped him with his studies.

He doesn't hate Kacchan. He actually sees the good parts of him everyone has trouble seeing.

The corner of my lip moved into a half smile. Good for you Kacchan. You made a pretty good friend.

Kirishima grabbed a black crop top with a bleeding purple heart and ripped back, facing it to me. "What do you think? Totally looks like your style." He grinned.

I grabbed the shirt, inspecting it further. It is pretty.

I nodded, placing it on top of the stack I have on my left arm.

My phone began to ring. Frowning, I checked and saw it was Uraraka.

I picked it up. "What's up?" I asked.

"Kiri! The villain from USJ was just here! Shigaraki Tomura! He had cornered Deku!"

Eh? The clothes on my arms dropped to the ground and I dashed out. "Hey! Kiri!" Kirishima and Kacchan called for me but I dashed out of the store, not paying any attention to them.

"Where are you?" I asked, running in a random direction. "By the meeting spot-"

I hung up and turned to the rail. We're on the third floor.

I glanced around and grabbed the edge, hopping over. By the second floor is a string of lights decorating the mall.

I landed on the small wire of the lighting and dashed across it and jumping to the floor, heading towards the meeting spot.

Shigaraki Tomura is here? Why'd he show up at a crowded place like this? And why target Izu? What's his game?!

There were a few security guys around two people.

That's Izu and Uraraka! "Izu!" I called, pushing by the security guys. I grabbed his face in my hands and moved it to the side as I inspected him for injuries.

"I'm fine Kiri-Nee. Really. He was just talking." I narrowed my eyes on his neck.

There's some bruising.

I let go of him and looked around. Why was Shigaraki here? Were there other members here too? Was Kei here?

Is this him making good on his threat?

~

After the two explained what happened, the mall was temporarily closed.

The Heroes and police in the ward undertook an emergency investigation. Unfortunately, in the end, they didn't find Shigaraki.

Izu had to go to the police station to put in his statement. But I couldn't go.

Instead I watched as the police cars drove off.

Izu said that it was only him and that they were talking about All Might. So at least I know Kei wasn't behind it.

At least I don't have to deal with that yet. But still, it is strange he went to him. Why Izu?

Ah. He did tell me about this All For One guy. Could it be about that?

I'll have to interrogate him later. For now I'll just go to his house and wait for him there. No. I'll go straight for the police station.

As I went to go, the back of my shirt was grabbed. "Ah."

Looking back, I see Kacchan has a hold of me, a few bags in his hands. Kirishima stood next to him, holding some as well.

"There's no point in going to the station. The damn nerd is fine. Take your stuff and go home dumbass." He thrust a bag into my chest and began to walk off.

I frowned. Like I'm going to do that. "Bakugo's right. You can see him after. For now you should head home and let your folks know you're okay." Kirishima said, holding out two more bags that are mine.

Oh. they bought my stuff.

"You kids should head home." One of the security guys said. Everyone nodded and headed for the station.

As I headed home, my mind turned and processed all of the information.

Shigaraki Tomura. All For One. All Might. One For All. Izuku. There's a connection here.

Izu told me that All For One was the one to make that wound on All Might. But in turn, he gave him a grave injury as well.

Izu inherited One For All. All For One has some connection with Shigaraki.

Could Shigaraki be the next All For One? And if he is, does he know Izu is the successor? If he does, then this means trouble for Izu. Does this mean that the next generations battle . . . is about to begin?
