After my embarrassing episode during lunch, I had become the backbone of a joke, the laughingstock, you name it.

Since I didn't talk to a lot of people, most were kind enough to stifle their laughter when they saw me.

Some uncultured pigs however, saw it fit to approach me. Diane gave those mannerless creeps a piece of her mind though.

Weirdly enough, I expected her to ditch me again like she had done for the past week but she didn't. If anything, she was being very protective and shielding me from everyone.

One more class and I would be done for the day. Taking permission to use the bathroom, I left my class and started my long journey across the hallway.

There was no one loitering because everyone was supposed to be in class.

Humming a tune to myself, I did my business, washed my hands and started heading back to class.

I heard muffled screams coming from somewhere. Where exactly was what I wasn't sure of.

Following the sounds, I found myself climbing up to the third floor.

Due to the increase in the number of students and staff, the third floor was recently built so we could expand but nobody had moved up yet.

Since it was still under construction, it was prohibited to prevent injuries.

The muffled screams seemed even louder and the person seemed to be in anguish. Hurrying up, I kept going till I found myself at the end of the hallway.

Taking a left, the sounds were coming from a room, most likely to be used as an office.

I tried to open the door but it wouldn't budge.

"Shut up!"
I heard a gruff voice say from inside before I heard skin slapping on skin.

Forcing the door open by means unknown to me, I found a very distressed Alice aka Mop hair looking wretched. Her mascara was running down her face indicating that she had been crying. Her makeup in general was strewn. A very distinct hand print painted her cheek.

Her blouse was ripped and her hair looked worse than mine after Diane ruffled it. Thankfully, she still had her jeans on even though it was unzipped and the button was undone.

A biker kid with multiple piercings and tattoos looking like he belonged in juvie hovered above her looking at me. My sudden entrance must have startled him.

They say don't judge a book by its cover but this chapter was not even looking good.

With a crooked smile, he smirked at me curling his fingers to motion me closer.

"Care to join the fun?"

A wave of disgust washed over me as I curled my fist tight and slowly walked over to him.

With my tiny frame, he clearly underestimated the damage I could cause because by the time I was done roughing him up, one eye was swollen shut while the other was bruised and surrounded by scratches from my nails. At least, I didn't blind him.

His nose was broken and busted would not be good enough to describe his lips. His forehead was swollen due to my legendary head butt and I was tempted to break a few bones.

Probably bruising a rib or two, I elbowed him in the throat while pulling him by the knees and slamming him to the floor.

Finally, I angled him towards the door, sprinted in his direction and gave a supersonic kick to his nether region.

A bucket of paint stood at a corner of the room but using it would mess up all the decorations I made on his face so I just poured some on his clothes.

That should teach him never to mess with women again.

Walking over to Mop hair, the poor girl just stared at me.
"Remind me never to mess with you" she said with a sad smile.

Giving her Diane's jacket I still had on so she could cover her ripped blouse, we walked to the bathroom on the second floor so she could wipe her face.

I made sure to kick him again as we walked past.

"Thank you so much for coming to help me. I know we aren't on the best of terms but I don't want to imagine what would have happened if you had not showed up."

Tears leaked out of her eyes and she thanked me and I knew without a doubt that the event had scarred her.

I was grateful to have stopped it anyways.

"Let's go to the principal's office and make a report"
I said walking in that direction. She quickly gripped my arm and held me back.

Shaking her head with wide eyes, she quietly mumbled "I just want to forget about it."

I can't say I agree with her decision but I respected it so I nodded.

"How did you even know I was up there?"
She asked, eyes still wide like a frog's.

"Uhhh...I was just exploring."
I lied...

Because telling her I heard her screams from the opposite end of the second floor would not be self explanatory.

I also didn't know how I opened the door but let's not go there...

When I got home, Aunt Lola was already back.

Thank goodness. I didn't even know what I would eat for home lunch. School lunch is snacks for me.

Not that I didn't miss her but I missed her cooking more. I can't even boil water. The water will burn, if that's even possible.

"Scar, is that you?"
She called out from inside.

"Nooooooo... It is the Angel of Death walking about and randomly picking doors to open."
I said, making my voice coarse.

Aunt Lola ran into the living room with a scared expression on her face. When she saw me, she visibly relaxed.

"That was not funny at all."
She scolded me, her face so straight you could use it to draw lines.

"What? Is the Angel of Death actually a real thing? Going from house to house?"
I asked, my tone flat.

Someone cannot even play again.

"And you'll hear the Angel of Death in your living room and run towards it instead of away from it. How wise"
I scoffed.

She looked at me sternly, shook her head and started walking away.

"Your cousin Salome is coming over soon to take you to our hometown."

I don't even know how Salome is my cousin. Nobody ever tried to explain it to me and she was also very obnoxious. Looking at me like I was chewed gum under her fancy slipper.

It was obvious she was not happy to be here whenever she came over, so I made it obvious I wasn't happy to have her either.

The girl just ignited a fire in my soul that made me want to rip her head off her shoulder and put it on a stick. Maybe roast it and give it to the dogs.

The hometown issue on the other hand, made my stomach drop.

I could feel the nervousness creeping in and chilling my fingers and toes.

What was it like? I knew it had something in relation with my mother so are there actual fairies with wings dancing around a bonfire? I have no idea where that thought came from either but there's no harm in thinking.

"Aren't you coming with us? And I still have about two weeks before Christmas Break."
I asked snapping out of my thoughts before they went wild.

"We'll see if I'm freer. And Salome will be arriving in a week. She insists."

Just great. A week to make my life more miserable.

This time, it will be fun messing with her. For an older child, she acted like a toddler and I knew the exact buttons to push.
