Chapter 7
It took perhaps another few hours to get to the castles ramparts. The whole time Trent walked beside me and said no more. All the while the sun set behind the distant mountains and the stars glittered on the velvet sky. I rather admired the night. The soft moonlight, whispering wind and somewhere off in the distance a horse and carriage.
"This is were we must part." The sapphire guard dropped my hand, and good riddance to that.
I knew why he wouldn't go any further. "What is it that drives every other being away from such a good hearted woman? The Onyx Princess is no different than any other person within the walls." Well she was majorly different, but we all were.
"I wish you the best of luck." Trent touched me on the shoulder briefly before leaving back down the road to his own station.
"Ya wish me luck." I muttered before taking the last few steps to the small door in the masoned wall. Silently the door slid open beneath my hands and I slipped in.
The night air seemed to penetrate the walls and was desperate to bite my bare skin. I locked the door behind me and took to venturing the twisting halls inside the wall until I found a disserted room and opened it up with a thought.
Once inside I shed my skin like clothing. My body tingled as it stretched up and rearranged its self. My hair crept up my back until it hung just above my shoulders and then it darkened to an inky black. I gained another foot of height and my shoulders broadened to thrice the size before. My fetchers went from the quiet feminine one I wore outside to the sharper more proud male one I preferred.
I looked down to the ground were my former bodys clothing was a puddle of cloth around my feet. "That dress would not do now." With a thought the clothing burst into flames and burnt to ashes within moments. In another thought I had new cloths on me. A silver grey shirt with emerald piping and a pair of darker green pants materialized above my skin. The feeling of my own powers about me made me shiver. It was like a fridged wind on a hot day, somewhat concerning but wonderful.
A/N Yes I know i write slow please hang in there. My main objective for the week was finding my flute, witch I did manage to do. (It was IN one of the drums!) So next time Im on I may post longer chapter.
