Chapter 10
Talk about hatred.
Iv named it. Well his parents did.
Killian. Killian. Stupid human-sized-flesh breathed-bag of feathers.
Thank you all Mighty void. I hate you a lot now. The brown feathered demon bird-wyvern was more than happy to breath his rotting flesh breath at me in his defending roars. If he hadn't belonged to Sava then he would have been found dead....a long time ago. I hated him as a human I hate him even more as an animal.
Killian reared and waved his feathered 'wings' at me, and then he let out a hiss with all his pointy white teeth showing.
To tell you the truth it felt like forever waiting for Sava to get from her rooms to the dark gardens. And while I'm being truthful I really wanted to pull the crest of red feathers from Killian's head. And then all the too white teeth from his mouth, then probably the mahogany feathers from his wings.
As if sensing my thoughts the oversized chicken growled at me and took a challenging step closer. I growled back.
Soft steps interrupted us. Both Killian and myself looked over to a shadowed woman coming to us. I breathed her name. Killian trotted to her and lowered his head. Then the bird-wyvern affectingly rubbed his head on her shoulder, kind of like a cat ageist its owners legs.
Sava scratched Killian's red feathers and then came closer. Even in the gloom she seemed to glow. As if a woman with sun bleached bone colored skin and black clothing could glow. Well the flash of the silver accents and the unnatural cream colored hair seemed to glitter in the moonlight. And her white skin seemed to be almost wraith like, as if her obsidian eyes and snowy skin reminded you of a lost soul.
She smiled. "To tell you the truth I didn't think you two could last this long with out destroying the world."
A smile came to me, "Well I told you anything for a fellow fiend." She moved closer as I drew out a small velvet box from my cloke.
Her eyes seemed to grow wide as she looked at the little case between us. Sava swallowed once, twice. She looked back up to me. "What is this?"
I couldn't help but smile. "Well you said no rings so Iv got you this." I folded the velvet box in her hands.
She opened it slowly. Even Killian seemed stunned and not a feather was ruffled on his hide. Sava's mouth gaped open a little. She slowly looked up to me. I moved slowly, as if I tried to not startle a young animal, until I was to her side. Then behind her. My hands took the box from her icy cold ones. I took the glittering pendent out and let it slide along the star bright chain. I unclipped the chain and strung it around her neck. Sava seemed to shiver as I fastened the ends together.
The only sound was Killian breathing loud and some how ominously. Which killed this precious, glorious moment between us. I couldn't help but smile as I caught the look of surprise on Sava's face. I walked around her and inspected her.
The small silver treble cleft gleamed like it was made of starlight. All the hours it took to make that small gift was worth it.
"Its so.." The onyx princess trailed off.
"In all honestly Sava, that pretty little shiny can never compare to you." Savahna's eyes gleamed silver. Killian snorted and started to walk off.
"Thank you." Sava took the liberty to crush me in her arms and water my cloke.
