"WAIT BUT YOU didn't at least catch him under the mistletoe?" Betty asked, frowning next to Mj at their lunch table, Peter and Ned haven't arrived yet, much to Kendra's liking as she spilled her guts to the girls.
"No!" Kendra put her head in her hands, "I should've attached them to the antlers Steve put on my damn head."
Kendra was beating herself up for never taking her chance to kiss Peter on Christmas night. It would have been the perfect moment after the two had set up a cot on the roof of the building next to the generator that produced just enough heat to keep them out there. She was so confused on who she was to the boy.
"Did he ask you to be his girlfriend?" Mj asked and Kendra shook her head.
"No, and I'm not sure if he ever will, like what if he's assuming we're just together," Kendra straightened up, looking to the girls hopelessly, "or maybe that's what I'm doing, we didn't speak of that moment after my dad interrupted us saying Peters aunt was there to pick him up."
"Ouch," MJ spoke and Kendra looked up to her, frowning with a deadpanned look.
"You know what?" Kendra asked, slamming her hands on the table, "I'm just going to ignore any hint of straight feelings and be a full lesbian, maybe that's what God has been screaming at me to do this whole time."
"You're not going to do that, look, I'll ask Ned what's been going on with Peter, if he says nothing, then MJ and I will find out ourselves," Betty spoke and Kendra widened her eyes.
"What if that just blows up in our face completely?"
"What's blowing up?" Ned asked, startling all three girls as Peter and Ned sat down. Peter ended up next to Kendra, a smile on his face when he looked to her as she immediately shoved an apple slice in her mouth, looking to MJ for help.
"Our prank for The Falcon, Kendra's being paranoid," MJ spoke, "we were just cancelling it."
"Oh," Ned spoke and Kendra chewed, looking to Peter and smiled as he leaned up against her, their arms touching and soon her hand was in his. Kendra's smile softened as she swallowed, looking Betty, noticing that the blonde was wearing one of the headbands that Kendra got her.
"Awe Betty," Kendra pointed out, Betty flipped her hair and winked at Kendra, her fingers grazing the material in her hair.
"It went perfect with my back to school outfit, and don't think I didn't notice the shirt," Betty winked, it was true, Kendra was wearing the shirt Betty got her. She loved it. The shirt had become one of her favorite pieces and it went perfect with Natasha's leather jacket that Kendra technically didn't steal, she just borrowed without permission.
"Hands," MJ spoke, catching Peter and Kendra's attention, the two both flushed out when they realized they were caught and that's when Kendra put their hands out on the table, Betty instantly awed at the two making Peter sheepishly smile.
"You two finally dating?" MJ asked and Peter and Kendra both widened their eyes, Kendra shot a glare at MJ and her bluntness of the question. MJ just shrugged. Kendra couldn't get too mad, MJ never would be the type to beat around the bush. Kendra wishes she had that attribute.
She looked to Peter whose mouth was open like he wanted to give answer but he looked Kendra and shut it. Out of nowhere he shot up, never letting her hand go as he pulled her away. Making her stumble and practically run to keep up.
"Peter where are we going?" She asked, recognizing the hall to the library. The two quickly and quietly went inside, not disturbing the class in there or the other students who had their lunch in there. He pulled her off to a corner where the bookshelf's didn't touch, leaving a hole small enough for two people. Kendra recognized that most kids would go and make out there. Her eyes widened as she stood in the corner, Peter joining her.
"What are we?" He quickly asked, making Kendra look up at him, unsure of which eye to look in. It was unspoken, but it felt like instinct to have her fingers hooked on his own. She always wanted to be touching him in some sort of way, even the close proximity wasn't enough for her.
"I've been asking myself that question since Christmas," Kendra spoke truthfully.
Peter and Kendra were laid out on a makeshift cot, Peters arms around Kendra, both with hot chocolate in their hands and they looked out at the stars, trying to figure out which one was now Kendra's. The two never spoke a word. They just laid there and watched them sparkle.
"I really like you," Kendra blurted out, looking up at Peter to find he had been watching her the whole time. He didn't say anything, making her heart race and her mind think that she assumed too much and that he really was like this with all her friends and-
"I really like you, too," he finally spoke. And her mind was at ease as a smile fell upon her face. His too. She wasn't sure who was leaning in but right as their noses even touched, the loudspeaker on the roof made a noise, making Kendra spill a little bit of her hot chocolate on the blankets when she jumped, making her groan.
"Can the two teenage lovebirds get off my roof, your aunt is here!" Tony's voice spoke and Kendra rolled her eyes, not happy with the man at all as she sat up. She looked over at Peter who even under the moonlight, you could tell that his flustered face was bright red.
Kendra smiled as they got up, picking up all the blankets and managed to get off the roof, heading for the front door.
"Hey," Kendra spoke up, catching his attention once more before she quickly pressed her lips to his cheek, forgetting the fact that she was on her toes to even reach him. Even if he was short, she had to end up being shorter.
She pulled away before they walked inside, a smile on her face as she greeted aunt May and notice Tony obviously winking his eyes out to Kendra. Making the girl roll her eyes playfully.
"Alright, thank you for letting him come over," Tony spoke to May who nodded, as Peter approached.
"It's no problem, he's always going on about Kendra, I had to get him out of the house, I met the girl once and I knew everything!" May teased, now both Peter and Kendra has matching faces as the two eventually left. Leaving Kendra to go to the laundry room with the blankets and her hot chocolate, occasionally drinking as she switched everything to the dryer and loaded up the now wet and slightly covered with hot chocolate blankets.
"Did you forget I had cameras up there?" Tony asked, humor in his tone, making Kendra roll her eyes once more as she turned to him.
"No, I didn't think you'd be watching us like one of those Dads," she smiled and Tony smiled back, walking closer and pulled her into a hug.
"Merry Christmas, I'm glad you finally told him because I'm tired of you moping," Tony spoke as he rubbed her shoulder a bit, making Kendra squeeze him a little tighter, "but no kissing on my roof, that cheek thing you pulled at my front door is fine but-"
"I get it," Kendra laughed, looking up to see his smile as he pulled away, kissing her forehead and headed for the door.
"Goodnight, don't go to bed too late," he spoke and Kendra nodded, turning to the blankets in the washing machine and sighed, finishing up before she sat down on the chair. The laundry room was probably the warmest room in the base, which left Kendra to wanting to stay in there with her phone and her drink that she was almost done with.
She finally told Peter. And he liked her back.
"Did you hear me?" Peter asked, bringing Kendra out of the memory, she blinked and shook her head, looking up at him, dazed, "I said, what do you think we should do?"
Kendra smiled, her hands resting on his cheeks, she got on her toes and leaned forward, pulling him closer before their lips touched, his arms wrapped around her. The butterflies in her stomach turned into bats and her her heart was beating so loud she was certain that Peter could hear it. He tilted his head, getting a better angle as her hands left his face and her arms went around his neck.
It felt right, all of it. It was everything she wanted it to be. He was everything to her. Peter pulled her close to him, leaving no space between the two, making her let out a small gasp. Peter took it as an opportunity to start using his tongue. This was her first kiss and she's using tongue?
She could feel his pulse against her arm and feel how fast his heart was beating. She almost wanted to smile. Kendra had to come out for air, opening her eyes as she parted from him, seeing him trying to follow her, making her smile.
"That was nice," he spoke making her giggle quietly, resting her head on his chest as her arms snakes around his torso. She felt his arms rest on her shoulders and hold her tight.
"You're a dork, Parker Peter," Kendra whispered and he smirked.
"But I'm your dork," he spoke, making her roll her eyes. She cannot believe he just said the corniest line she's ever heard in any rom com or read in any book. She wondered what Marvel has come to, to make Peter Parker like this.
"Are you?" She asked, looking up, "my boyfriend?"
"Can I be?" He asked and Kendra smiled.
"I don't know can you?" She asked, making Peter groan and lean in once more. The two kissing again before footsteps approached. Kendra widened her eyes before seeing another couple approach. Shock in their faces as they were about to turn.
"No!" Kendra spoke up, "we're just finishing up, go ahead."
Her and Peter left the corner and she took Peters hand once more, looking back to see his face was its usual bright red.
"Our friends are gonna load of the sight of you," Kendra laughed, making Peter pull her close and wrap an arm around her.
"Maybe," he said, tousling her hair and smirking as she gasped, doing her best to fix it as they entered the cafeteria.
"You're a jerk, I want a divorce," Kendra joked as she sat down, looking to see her lunch barely touched and her friends all staring. Mj and Betty looked to her expectantly as Ned stared at the two of them with a smirk, knowing exactly what happened when they were gone. It all weirdly made Kendra laugh.
"So he's my boyfriend."
