Zabuza Returns - Life or Death?!
Reina's P.O.V
My eyes fluttered open. I looked around and I noticed that I was in some room. 'Am I in one of Tazuna's guest rooms?' I thought as I stood up and stretched.
"Hn, you're up..."
I jumped and spun around facing Sasuke who was only in a towel, dripping wet from his shower I'm guessing. My eye twitched and heat rushed to my cheeks immediately, 'Couldn't he put some clothes on before coming out?!' I thought, then I began to wonder why I was even with him. 'Wait...why am I in a room with, him?'.
"See something you like?" Sasuke teased cockily with a smirk.
I hadn't realized that I had been staring at his chest for a little too long. I shook my head and glared at Sasuke.
"No, no I don't actually. Now go put on some clothes." I stated bluntly with my arms crossed.
A small frown appeared on his face and disappeared as fast as it came. I blinked in confusion, 'Did he frown over what I said?' I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly and pushed my confusion to the side. Who cares. He walked over to a dresser, pulling out the clothes he was going to wear.
"Hn...go shower already." Sasuke ordered, looking at me for a mere second.
Nodding, I grabbed a towel and some of my clothes, "Alright." I said, stepping in the bathroom.
I switched the light on and a light bulb went off inside my head.
"Oh, and Sasuke..." I muttered out.
"Hn?"
"Thanks for carrying me to bed yesterday. I didn't mean to be a burden, but you were kind enough to help me. So...thanks." I thanked him, before slamming the door shut.
'What has gotten into me lately? I'm being nice and I'm thanking people now?!' I thought with a sigh, 'If this is what having friends does to you...I'm scared. Why am I changing?' I took my clothes off and set them on the ground in a neat pile. I turned the nozzle in the shower making hot, steamy water shoot out. I scrubbed my hair and body to get all the grime off me from our precious training. After eight minutes or so, I finished and hopped out. I dried myself and put my clothes on, then brushed my teeth. Now my hair. My hands hovered over my hair, I concentrated on removing all the water from my hair, but left enough to keep it soft. Opening my eyes I looked at the orb of water, before dropping it in the sink.
"Done.." I muttered, looking at myself in the mirror.
'Worthless...monster...freak...murderer...failure...mistake...nuisance..'
Immediately I held my head in pain, whimpering at the horrible memories. 'Get out, get out, get out!' I shouted inwardly as more memories came up. Ones that I wish I never had, but without those memories I wouldn't be here now. With my friends, dad, uncle and gramps.. Shaking my head I walked out door and downstairs. Sakura, Tsunami, Inari, Tazuna, Sasuke, and Dad were there. However, one person was missing. 'Wheres Naruto?'.
"Ohayo.." Sakura greeted me still half-asleep.
"Um, where's Naruto?" I asked, looking around the room for the knucklehead friend of mine.
"Naruto hasn't come back." Tazuna said.
My heart stopped. He hasn't come back...?
"He's such a fool, he's been out every night climbing trees." Sakura said calmly, "He might be dead already from using up to much chakra."
I growled and bit my lip to stop myself from yelling at Sakura for what she said. Who says things like that so easily?! You should care about your teammate! For Jashin's sake he might be dead! I walked to the door and opened it. 'Naruto...'
"Huh-! Where are you going Reina?" Sakura asked, my retreating figure.
I snarled. I was glad that my back was facing me and that she couldn't see me like this. "I'm going to find Naruto, my friend. The one who's not dead..." I stated, my voice cold and dead.
"B-But you can't just leave, let him be!" Sakura shouted helplessly.
I smirked evilly and turned my head to the side a little so she could see my smirk.
"Remember what I told you that day you made fun of Naruto right after we got our teams?" I mused, smirking wider as she gulped in fear. "I'll kill you, or anyone that doubts my friends. No friend of mine makes fun of another person, Sakura. Bear this warning once more, I will not tolerate you any longer than I have to. I have tried to get along with you, but it's proving impossible and pointless."
Their eyes were on my back. They were all examining me in fear or shock. How I was looked at in the Mist, is how I was being looked at now. Like a monster, a freak....
"I'll be with Naruto. If you need me - which doubt any of you will - you know where to find me." I said coldly as I walked out the door.
'Might as well check the forest first. He was training there...' I ran ahead, jumping from branch to branch. I landed on a branch in a crouch and concealed my chakra. There was a girl in a pink walking my way with a basket in her hands. Good thing she can't see me or sense me. 'Who is that?' Right before she was out of sight, she smirked in my direction. I gasped. How did she see me?! Crap! I leaped away, surprisingly where Naruto was at. He was on the ground criss cross with a face of confusion.
I jumped down, landing in front of him. He jumped and stared at me with wide eyes.
"R-Reina-chan!" He shouted in shock.
"Baka..." I said, flicking his forehead.
"Ouch!" Naruto whined and glared at me playfully. "What was that for?"
I wrapped my arms around him tightly. "For scaring me." I whispered softly. I then quickly backed away.
"Oh..." He muttered with a frown while looking down at the ground.
I ruffled his hair with a small smile, "Come on, let's go." I said.

I was walking around in the forest when I heard Sakura's infamous scream. My eyes widened and I ran to the direction I heard it from.
"Don't scare us like that!" Sakura voice shouted.
Walking out from behind a bush, I glanced at Sakura then up to the tree Naruto was hanging upside down from.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Naruto pretended to fall." Dad answered.
"Ah, I see. He is a prankster, you should've seen that coming." I shrugged.
Then, he really fell... I sighed and smacked my forehead. Sasuke ran up the tree and caught him by the ankle.
"You idiot." Sasuke said.
Sakura has to start fangirling that moment. Screaming things like, 'Oh Sasuke-kun!! Your so awesome!!' and 'Eeeeek! Sasuke-kun's so strong!'

"The boys are late." I pointed out, staring at the seats where they should be sitting.
"Yeah and not just Naruto, but even Sasuke is gone." Sakura added.
Then, that was when the door opened. Sasuke walked in with Naruto leaning in his shoulder for help.
"What happened to you guys?" Tazuna asked. "You're both muddy and tired out."
Naruto chuckled, "We both climbed to the top." He grinned.
"Good job." Dad praised. "Naruto. Sasuke, you'll both also start guarding Tazuna next time."
Naruto grinned. "Yes!" He shouted throwing his hands up, causing himself and Sasuke to fall to the ground.
"You idiot!" Sasuke scolded.
I smirked while everyone else laughed. We began eating dinner together till the plates were empty, and nothing but a grain was left.
"In just a bit, the bridge will be complete. It's all thanks to you guys." Trauma explained, with a smile.
"Even so, don't let your guard down." Tsunami said, as she picked up the dirty dishes from the table.
I grabbed some dishes and placed them in the sink for her and started to wash them too. Tsunami thanked me and helped by drying them.
"I've really wanted to ask you for a long time now... Why are you even still here even though I lied to you all about the mission?" He asked curious.
Dad answered, but I couldn't quite hear what he said. Something about the Hokage; master like man?
A thud echoed from behind me. I looked over my shoulder at Inari who had his hands on the table. His tears were dripping onto the table.
"Why do you desperately work so hard until you get like that?! There's no way you'd be a match for Gato's men even if you train! No matter what cool things you say or how much effort you make...the weak always lose out against the strong!" Inari yelled.
My body body shook in anger, we were trying our best to protect his land from Gato yet he still doubts us! This kid... He doesn't understand...he doesn't... We're trying our best to protect him, his land.
"Shut up. I'm not like you." Naruto said.
"Shut up! Looking at you makes me sick! Sticking your nose in even though you know nothing of this land! You're the ones acting mighty, when you know nothing of pain!" Inari yelled.
I froze. The plate in my hand broke in half. 'Know nothing of pain? Boy, you know nothing about pain...' I sneered.
"So you're just gonna cry all day like he lead in a tragedy?" Naruto said, "And idiot like you can just cry forever! You crybaby!"
"Naruto that was a bit too harsh!" Sakura scolded.
Harsh? That wasn't close to harsh.
Naruto walked out the room. I put the broken plate in the garbage, then I walked out but was stopped by Sakura.
"Where are you going?" She asked.
I stayed silent.
"Hey! I asked where you were going?" Sakura demanded.
"Shut up!" I shouted, spinning around to face her." Leave me alone for o-once!"
Her eyes widened, "Reina...you're crying."
My eyes flew open when she said that. My small fingers went to my cheek, and my fingers twitched at the moistness. She was right, I was crying.
"Reina..."
"Shut up! Leave me alone! I want to be alone!" I yelled and ran out the door.
"Reina!"
My legs took me far out in the forest till my now numb feet collapsed on me. I slumped to the ground in a pile of tears. I don't know what got into me. After Inari said, 'you know nothing of pain!' everything came back to me. The pain of my beatings, the pain of my parents giving me away, the pain of being alone!
Images of my parents smiling flashed before my eyes. Their laughter rung in my ears. My screams. The sound of my skin getting whipped. I saw it all over again. The pain I endured...
A few hours later, I finally went back to Tazuna's. It was around two in the morning. I snuck in and went on the balcony and stared at the fading stars all day. I didn't get a speak of sleep, small bags took over my eyes. I sighed as it became morning. My team walked out the house, and headed towards the bridge. Jumping down, I went along with them, scaring sakura in the process.
"Reina, you're back. Are you alright?" She asked, sounding like she was concerned for me.
I glanced at her for a mere second before walking ahead. There was no way I was going to give her an answer.
"O-Okay... I guess not.."
We made it to the bridge. I was silent the entire time. The bodies of the workers were sprawled across bridge.
"What is this?!" Tazuna exclaimed. "What's going on?!"
Zabuza, he's here. As I walked to a body I noticed they were all twitching or moaning in pain, meaning they were alive. Just in case, I checked the pulse on one. It's there. A mist rolled in, covering the air in a white fog. I knew it...
"Sakura, Sasuke, Reina! They're coming!" Dad shouted.
The three of us covered Tazuna. I took out my summoning scroll just in case.
"Sorry to have kept you waiting. Kakashi. I see you still got those brats with you as always." Zabuza's voice echoed.
He chuckled, "he's trembling. Poor thing."
Clones of Zabuza appeared around us.
"I'm trembling...with excitement!" Sasuke said.
"Do it, Sasuke." Dad said.
Sasuke went around, destroying all the water clones. 'Oh, he can see them now..'
"Oh, so he can see the water clones now, huh. That brats frown quite a bit." He said, showing himself along with the hunter-ninja by his side. "This means a rival has emerged, Haku."
"So it seems." Haku said.
"Well, well, it seems like my prediction was right on the spot. That mask." Dad said.
"I knew it." Sasuke said.
"He's got to be a comrade with Zabuza, standing with him and all.." Dad said.
"How dare he show up like that after what he did!" Sakura added.
"I hate brats who think their cool.." Dad said.
'Sasuke..'
"I'll do it... With his bad acting... I hate brats who think they're so cool!" Sasuke growled.
Haku disappeared then reappeared next to Sasuke, Sasuke blocked Haku's attack.
"Sakura, Reina, surround Tazuna and don't move away from me." Dad ordered, "let Sasuke handle him!"
Haku started making hand signs with one hand. I gasped as needles formed around Sasuke, they flew towards him. Water splashed in the air, Sasuke was up in the air. He threw shurikens at Haku, who dodged them easily.
Sasuke appeared behind Haku, "You're surprisingly stupid." Sasuke smirked. "From here on, you'll only block my attacks."
Sasuke kicked Haku away, surprising Zabuza and the others.
"It seems that I'm faster than you." Sasuke pointed out, glaring over at Haku.
"I can't have you mocking my team, calling them brats. He may not look like it, but Sasuke is the number one rookie in the Village Hidden in the Leaves. And Sakura is our sharpest. Reina being the mature colder one. And the other on is the number one hyperactive, knucklehead ninja, Naruto Uzumaki." Dad said.
I would've smiled or grinned but I was too busy staring at the chakra seeping out of Haku. The air got a little colder too.
"It's unfortunate...." Haku said, "Crystal ice mirrors."
Like Haku said, ice mirrors formed around Sasuke, surrounding him with no way out. Haku walked to a mirror and went inside of it. Dad ran to Sasuke only to be blocked by Zabuza.
"I'm your opponent, aren't I?" Zabuza stated. "Since he's using that jutsu...that kids done for."
Sasuke's screams, groans, and grunts were very clear to hear. I winced every time he screamed, a part of me told me to stay, while the other part was telling me to help him now! That's it... I'm going in.
"Sorry, I have to help him." I muttered.
"Same, sorry Tazuna. But I'm stepping away from here for a bit." Sakura said.
Sakura leaped in the air and threw a kunai at Haku. I took the chance to skid in the dome if mirrors. I caught Sasuke right as he was going to collapse. His eyes widened at the sight of me, I put my finger to my lips.
"Sh, I'm going to give you chakra, it'll heal you." I whispered, as my chakra flowed into Sasuke body, healing his cuts.
"T-Thanks..." He muttered.
"Don't thank me now, thank me when I get you out of here." I said.
A big explosion came from behind me, I looked over my shoulder. The cloud of smoke died down, revealing Naruto.
"Naruto Uzumaki is finally here!"
