Kakashi's View

I knocked on Iruka's apartment door. A few minutes pass by with me standing outside waiting. I sigh as I turn the door knob. It was open. I face palm. Iruka wants to get himself killed, doesn't he? I walked in and shut the door behind me. 'Well, Iruka hasn't been home in awhile.' I thought as I looked around his apartment. Clothing was thrown all over the floor, books and paper were piled on top of each other and there was a trail of rope leading somewhere. Curiosity getting to me, I followed the trail into a room.

"Oh...my... What happened here..?" I muttered.

Iruka was wrapped up in ropes, the ropes were tied to the corners of the bed keeping him from moving. The funny part of it all was that Reina had wrote a little note and stuck it on his forehead. It said,

'Dear Iruka,

Next time you try making me whake up early, I'll bite you. Fear me. Behave while I'm gown. I'll untie you at...um... When I whake up.

I chuckled at the note and the spelling mistakes. For a six year-old she can spell most words correctly, I'm impressed. Smirking, I went up to Iruka and shook him awake. His eyes fluttered open slowly, then went wide in fear. He looked around the room and let out a sigh.

I smirk as I looked at Iruka squirm. "Mind telling me what you did to get into this situation, Iruka?" I asked curiously with a hint of humor.

Iruka got an anger mark and thrashed around in his restraints whole mumbling incoherent words. Chuckling at his foolish attempt at escaping, I decided to help him. I took a kunai out, slicing the ropes apart. He sighed as he rubbed his sore arms which now had rope marks covering them. I cut the rest of the ropes now letting him go free. Iruka looked up at me and explained how this happened.

[ Small Flashback ]

Reina and I were laughing like mad men on our way to the market. Not so long ago while passing a food stand, Reina 'accidentally' went up to a feminine looking man and called him 'mommy'. At first the man was staring at her like she was mad, but he went along with it after awhile. They went to the stores and hung out as I watched from behind the scenes of course, I really didn't enjoy watching. After their 'bonding time' a woman went up to the man; she was his wife. Reina, deciding to be devious, swiped the man from his wife and screamed, might I say very loudly too.

"Get off my mommy, you witch!"

What seemed like a fuse blew within the woman, she was seething in anger. Throwing questions at her husband non-stop asking what the child. was talking about. He stuttered not so sure of the situation either, merely saying he was spending time with a random child. I sweat dropped and got a bad feeling about this...

"Mommy, we need to find Daddy!" Reina shouted.

"Daddy?! What do you mean, daddy?!" The woman shouted back.

"I mean daddy, you witch! Mommy and daddy are married!" Reina deadpanned.

"MARRIED?! Are you cheating on me?!" The woman screeched.

"W-what?! I-I don't even know what's happening!" The man yelled.

"Mommy! Just say the truth, you are cheating! Now let's go!" Reina whined.

"So you are! I can't believe you, Aiji!" The woman sobbed.

"Mako! I swear I don't know a thing! I don't even know this child!" Aiji defended.

"Mommy, why do you hate me so much!" Reina sniffed.

"W-What?!" Aiji shouted.

"That's enough Aiji... We're through.  Take care of your child, you homo!" Mako ran off in tears.

Aiji froze, then ran, "Mako, wait!"

Reina stood there simply watching the couple run off with their now ruined relationship. I stood there shocked with my mouth wide open. Reina giggled and ran over to me.

"How'd I do?" She asked.

"G-good.." I stuttered out in shock.  "But you're going to wake up early tomorrow, like you did today... That was mean..."

[ End ]

When we had finally made it back to the apartment with all the precious event's behind our back, I put Reina to bed and tried waking here up after 30 minutes as punishment for messing with those two strangers. But no! She  fought against me and tied me to the bed in anger instead.....

"That whole thing pretty much lead me to my position I was previously in..." Iruka explained sheepishly.

I stared at him with a blank face, then started to snicker. "I can't believe a little girl- hah! Actually managed to tie you up!" I laughed. (Totally OOC. Perfect)

He blushed in embarrassment as he turned away to hide his face. It was just unbelievable. How could a child beat a Chunin? I shook my head with a small smile on my face. I stuck my hand out for Iruka, he glanced at me then grabbed my hand. Pulling him up was easy, he's light.

I pat his back, "Let's find Reina, it's my day with her." I said.

Iruka tensed, a dark look empowering him. I raised an eyebrow. What now?

"Uh, Iruka-"

"Come on, she might be in her room." Iruka muttered and walked away, not sparring a glance at me.

I shrugged it off as I followed him to a room. He opened the door immediately looking down.

"Ohayo... Iruka..."

"Ohayo, Reina." Iruka smiled warmly.

My eyes widened, filled with joy. I peeked over his shoulder seeing an adorable Reina with a pillow in her hand, she yawned cutely, rubbing her eye.

She saw me and her eyes filled surprise. "Kakashi-san! What are you doing here?!" Reina exclaimed.

I gave her a closed eye smile, "Maa, Reina, don't tell me you forgot already." I teased, "You get to spend the day with me. So get ready, we leave in 10 minutes."

Reina nodded rapidly and slammed the door shut. You could hear crashing behind the door, I sighed at this.

"Kakashi, speak to me for a moment?" Iruka said or more like demanded.

I rose an eyebrow, and nodded my head.

We walked into the kitchen, Iruka leaned against the counter, staring right at me. I motioned my hand for him speak.

"Well, as you know, today you're going to be with Reina all day. But, since she's staying with me till we find her guardian... I'm setting some rules." Iruka explained. I groaned in annoyance. I think the whole teacher thing is getting to him. "One, she has to be here by 9:00 PM the latest. Two, don't give her any, I mean any sweets when it gets dark. Finally, please take good care of her... I think you already know this, but, I'm growing attached to her as if she were my own child." Iruka said.

I glared at him slightly, "I'll make sure to follow those rules. And yes, I know... I am too, getting attached to her." I sighed, "But...be warned, I will try my best to be her guardian no matter what it takes." I whispered darkly.

Iruka glared, "Oh, I know. But so will I, just you watch. I've also noticed you glaring at me recently..." He pointed out.

I smirked, "Ah, have I made it so noticeable? My bad." I mused.

Iruka fumed in anger and grabbed my collar. I glowered down at him. He's much shorter than I am and weaker as well, he's in no position to threaten me. He glared at me, I stared back blankly.

"Watch it Hatake-"

"Iruka, Kakashi-san.. W-What's going on? Are you f-fighting?" Reina whimpered in fear.

I frowned, and glared at Iruka. "Yeah, Iruka. What's going on?" I asked, secretly smirking behind my mask.

Iruka jumped back, he looked at Reina and explained everything. We were supposedly seeing who had a better glare. What a sad excuse. Reina believed it and ran to me, I smiled down at her, falling for her cuteness.

"We'll be going now, Iruka." I said.

Iruka frowned, "Alright, see you both at nine then."

With that, we walked out the door. I planned on taking Reina to a small fair in the village. 'Ah. I didn't see if she had anything nice to wear.' I thought as I glanced down at Reina. She was wearing a baggy white shirt and black shorts. 'Hm, might as well go buy her some clothing.' I thought. I threw her over my shoulder, ignoring her questions and pleads. I walked over to a clothing store, I placed her down.

Reina glanced between me and the clothing with questioning eyes, I smiled. "Well, go on. Pick out and outfit for today and while your at it, grab something for tomorrow." I told her.

She grinned brightly and jumped away.

I sweat dropped at the clothes she grabbed.

First outfit was ALL pink. Second outfit was sadly the same. I cringed, and shook my head as a no. She giggled and ran to get more clothes.

She came back with more clothing and I actually approved of these. The first outfit consisted of a black skirt, a blue shirt with a picture of pocky on it and lastly black ninja sandals. The second outfit was a pair of navy blue ninja sandals, black ninja pants and a long sleeve with a picture of ramen on it. I sweat dropped. 'What's with the food related clothing..?'

"Let's go pay for that." I said as I walked for the counter, paying for her clothing.

I motioned for her to go and change into one of the outfits, she came out with outfit one. I smiled and ruffled her hair. She pouted and fixed her hair, grumbling words here and there.

"Where are we going Kakashi-san?" Reina asked.

I frowned, she's still using 'san' at the end of my name.

"My, that's a secret. Don't worry, we'll be there soon." I reassured her.

She nodded and skipped ahead of me joyfully.

Reina's View

I stared dumbfounded at what I was looking at, I have never seen something, something so colorful and packed! There were lanterns, different colors, shapes, sizes, placed around this area of the village. It was so stunning! There were stands of all sorts, food ones, game ones, and even small stores! People were laughing, running, giggling madly. They looked like they were having the time of their life, it was pretty fascinating. One thing caught my eye, it was a small stand with different stuffed animals. A stuffed panda caught my eye. I didn't notice that I had left Kakashi and completely wandered off to the stand. A young man greeted me.

"Why, hello there child. Are you trying to win a stuffed animal?" He asked.

"I don't have any money-"

"I'll pay, Reina." Kakashi offered.

I grinned as Kakashi payed the man, he handed me a fake kunai. It was very light and dull.

"Okay, the rules are very simple. In order to get a stuffed animal, you need to pop one of the several balloons floating in the air, alright?" The young man explained.

I nodded excitedly and aimed the kunai at a red balloon. I bit my lip as I flicked the kunai at the balloon. The kunai cut through the air and went through the balloon, wedging itself in the back wall of the stand. I was shocked, as were Kakashi and the man. I don't remember ever using a kunai before, so how did I hit the target, and with such strength!? The young man grinned and faced me.

"You did it! Wow, I've never seen a child with such great aim before. You've got a prodigy right there, sir." He told me and Kakashi.

I blushed in embarrassment, looking down at the ground.

Kakashi chuckled, "Seems like I do." Kakashi said. "Great job, Reina." He smiled down at me.

I whispered a quick thanks. The man was still grinning ear to ear from what he has seen. He asked, "Now then, which one you want?"

"Panda-kun." I muttered as if I were in a trance.

He handed it to me, "There you go, kiddo. Nice seeing you, good bye. Have fun!" He waved.

I waved back, then blinked. Why did I grab a panda? Hm, I felt like I needed to somehow, I felt like the panda was all alone...just like I was before. (A/N: you see what I'm doing here? Panda? All alone? Remind you of anyone? No? Yes?) I brought the panda close to my chest, squeezing it tightly like I was soothing him. I kept telling him that he was fine. That he wasn't alone anymore.

"You like pandas?" Kakashi said, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I hazed at the sky, "I...I don't know... All I know is this panda is lonely, it needed someone to be there for it. So I will... Panda-kun is no longer alone.." I muttered.

Kakashi stopped in his tracks, spinning around I giggled, pretending like nothing happened.

"Where to next, Kakashi-san?" I chirped.

"Oh, uh, wherever you want," he said.

I laughed, dragging him to several stands. We tried all the game stands, I mostly won stuffed animals or jewelry. Kakashi-san even got a few scarecrow related items. We even played dress up! It was funny, I picked his outfits while he picked mine. I always handed him girls clothes, he gave me normal clothes which was no fun.as for the rest of the day... We ate, laughed, ran, danced, but most of all. We had fun, and it was amazing.

Kakashi's View

I knocked on the door, I was a few minutes late. Forty to be exact. The door flew open revealing an angry Iruka. He was beyond angry, there was smoke clouds coming out his ears. He swiped Reina out my hands, and magically placed her on the sofa. He came back to the door but stepped outside with me, shutting the door behind him.

I sighed waiting for his tantrum.

"How could you! I said to be here by nine and you show up almost an hour late, Hatake! I know you're late sometimes, but couldn't you take this seriously and bring her back at the right time? Geez, I was worried about her! What if she got kidnapped?" Iruka snapped and rambled on.

"Oh, Iruka. Stop worrying so much, as you can see were both fine. And I have a good reason we were late." I said.

He scoffed, "And what might that be?"

"Reina was having too much fun, I wanted to see her smile truly and experience what other children experience." I explained.

His eyes softened. "Alright... It's fine, I guess. I'm sorry for overreacting..." He apologized.

"It's fine. Just get ready for tomorrow, she decides on who she will stay with... A big decision is going to be made, don't you agree?" I asked. Iruka tensed up. "Anyways, here. It's clothes I bought for her, make sure she wears it tomorrow. Good bye Iruka." I said as I handed him the clothing, and walked away.

"Bye..." I heard him whisper.

[ Next Day ]

Reina's View

I woke up with a loud yawn, after stretching I jumped out of bed and took a quick shower. I changed into the clothes Kakashi-san bought me yesterday, the black ninja pants, long sleeve with a picture of ramen (❤️) on it, and navy blue ninja sandals. Smiling at my reflection, I skipped to Iruka's room. I kicked the door open and stomped over to his bed. Grinning evilly.

"Iruka, Iruka, Iruka, get up, get up! We need to see Hokage-san!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as I jumped furiously on his bed.

Iruka swatted his hands around, his hand somehow finding my ankle and latching onto it. I sweat dropped. 'Oh no!' Surprisingly, he pulled me close to him and buried his face in the crook of my neck. I giggled.

"Maa, Iruka. I love you, kiss me. Muah, muah." I tried mimicking Kakashi-san's voice. Also making some kissing sound effects.

I pecked his cheek, that did it. "I don't swing that way Hatake!" He shrieked and rubbed the cheek I kissed. I pouted. Awww, my kiss is gone now.

"Iruka, that was just me." I giggled.

He glared, "Why would you even try that? That was horrifying!" Iruka shouted, his voice laced with anger and disgust.

"Because we're going to be late for the meeting with Hokage-san." I stated bluntly.

"Oh, no! You're right!" Iruka shouted and got ready in... Two minutes.

"That's a record." I said clapping.

"No time let's go!!" He yelled, threw me over his shoulder and teleported us to the Hokage mansion.

I was dizzy. I'm still not used to the teleporting and stuff, it makes me feel sick. But it's fun, so who cares.

"Ah, so I see you both have finally arrived."

We both sweat drop and slowly turn towards the Hokage.

We gulp, "Gomen, Lord Hokage!" We said in unison.

He chuckled, "No need to apologize. Now, I think we have a matter on our hands, yes?"

Iruka, Kakashi and I nodded. I was scared to death, I haven't decided on who to pick... I don't want to hurt their feelings either.. I sighed sadly and looked up at the Hokage.

"So, Reina. Who is it that you have chosen? Kakashi or Iruka?" He asked.

I frowned. Think, who do you want Reina, think. So Kakashi-san is really nice, but really quiet. He can be emotionless at times or mean, but he has a soft side, especially for me. Iruka is really nice! He loves making sure I'm alright, he's caring, and he understands me... He's the only person to understand how I feel, he doesn't judge me either.. I.. I think I know who I'm picking...

"I've decided.." I said.

They all looked at me, waiting for my answer. Iruka was sweating while Kakashi stayed emotionless but you could see some fear in his eyes. I looked between the both of them, they glared at each other every few seconds. I bit my lip.

"I want to stay with———————-"

"Kakashi." I said, "I'm sorry Iruka. Please don't be mad, I love both of you! It's just to hard to pick... I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" I cried as I ran to Iruka.

I was sad and angry. It was so hard to choose and when I did, I hurt someone else! I cried in his pants, he lifted me up and placed me on his hip. He smiled sadly. My heart ached at his smile, I felt like I hurt him so badly...

"Its.. It's fine, Reina. You'll visit me sometimes, right?" He asked, hopeful.

My eyes filled with happiness, "YES! But I'll visit you all the time, I love you. You're, you're like an uncle to me. You'll always be special to me." I whispered as tears fell from my eyes non-stop.

Iruka grinned madly, "Good, you better. And you consider me to be your uncle?! That's amazing! You're my niece now, huh?" Iruka grinned.

I sniffed. "Yup, I'm your niece. And Kakashi is my daddy the that leaves Hokage-san as my grandpa!" I chirped. "If that is fine with either of them."

"I'll be glad to be your dad." Kakashi said.

"I'd be glad to." Jiji-san said.

I grinned ear to ear, now I have a new family, one that actually cares for me. Being rescued by Kakashi-san, being brought to this village, may have filled a hole on my heart, one that I thought would never be filled again.

"Oh, by the way daddy! I need a mommy now and I have the perfect person!" I chirped.

"Who might that be?" Kakashi asked.

"Iruka!" I sung, and threw a wink at Iruka. Causing him to remember what I did in the morning,

"What?! R-Reina!" Iruka exclaimed with a dark blush.

I giggled madly. Yeah, this defiantly was what I needed to cure my small heart.
