Back To The Future - Hero

Reina's View

My breath hitched in my throat. 'That... Th-That was actually me!' I thought in horror. I was scared beyond belief. This just couldn't be...m-me, right? This had to all be some kind of joke, some kind of prank that was happening right now.

"P-Please, don't h-hurt me a-anymore! I-I just w-wanna s-see my d-dad!" She cried out through her tears.

The men that were holding her down each snarled or snickered in response to her words. One of them walked over to her and yanked her up by her blue hair. My blue hair. I winced as she yelped in pain. Her hair wasn't in a braid like mine, her hair was straight and it flowed down to her mid-back. It was beautiful.

"Shut the hell up, you pest!" He yelled, tugging at her hair.

She cried even louder and whimpered under his harsh grip. Watching this happen in front of my own eyes was making my stomach turn. I couldn't keep doing this. I needed to help myself out. I bit my lip, 'But how do I do it?' I asked myself.

I looked down at my legs, scanning for my weapon pouch or block of metal. I had absolutely nothing on me, but the clothing I usually wear. I cursed under my breath and stared at little old me with worry.

I let out a deep breath, "You can do it, Reina. Do it for yourself. You can do it with or without a weapon." I muttered quietly, doing the best I could to encourage myself.

I heard her scream as she was suddenly slammed against the wall, her head hitting the hard wall with such force the room shoke. My eyes widened at this. 'Now is the time to make my move!' I shouted. 'There's not time left...'

I ran out from behind the giant shelf I was hiding at. The men gasped and each yelled out in surprise.

"What the?!"

"It's another Hizō!"

"Get her!"

The little girl slowly lifted up her brusied face and smiled at my presence, "H-Help..."

I smiled back and nodded, "Don't you worry, sweetie. I will." I said in the kindest voice I could muster.

I flinched as a kunai skimmed the side of my arm, causing blood to ooze out slowly. I looked at her, and her eyes were shining with shock, hope. A ghostly smile made its way to my face. I turned to the four men and glared at each of them harshly. Each of them had a kunai or shuriken in hand, however, one of them was carryinga katana. From his weapon, I could only guess that he was the one giving the orders to these men. Now he was going to be the one to die first.

"Why are you all harming her?" I asked in a stern tone.

The more bulkier one stepped forward with a large scowl on his face, "Who are you to be asking us questions, girl?" He barked.

I hesitated, "I'm... I'm just like you said, another Hizō. You wouldn't want to hurt me now, would you?" I mocked him, using his own words against him.

They all looked at each other and nodded, "Orders are orders..." They muttered out, madness swimming in the back of their eyes.

I backed away in fear of what was about to happen. I recognize that look any where! They were set on killing me, I had no choice in this now. After all, my family, the almighty Hizō clan, was powerhungry. They'd do anything, even---

Kill their own clan members to obtain what they crave; power.

I looked over my shoulder at my younger self with fear, "Rei- Kid, hide now, hide in back of the big shelf right over there! Don't you dare come out until I say so, understand?" I explained.

She nodded vigorously and ran over to the shelf, stumbling behind it. Luckily, as she did as I told her to, none of the men were watching. I let out a breath of relief. 'Good, she's safe...'

I snapped my eyes open and I raised my fists, ready to go into a Taijutsu battle. Taijutsu wasn't my best area, but I think I can withstand a few men for a bit. If it's for me, the younger me at least, I'll do what it takes.

They all charged at me head on. I bit my lip ad jumped to the side, avoiding an attack from a kunai. I glared at one of the men in front of me. 'You're done for.' I thought right as I let out a small battle cry and aimed a kick for his abdomen. He stood still and let me hit him. He was knocked back with all ar knocked out of him as well. The kunai he was holding flew from his hand and slid across the floor, stopping right at my toes. I smirked.

"Now it looks like I have a toy of my own..." I muttered, bending down to pick it up. I twirled it around a bit. "Who's next?"

Two of the men nodded at each other at the same time ad ran at me with kunai in hand. I held my kunai up and blocked all their attacks. I jabbed one of them in the side. He fell over and whimpered in pain as he held his wounded side.

"Kide!" The other fighting along side him shouted.

He stared down at his friend with mournful eyes. He knew he couldn't help his friend. It was against the Hizō's clan rules. 'Those who were injured in a battle were marked as nothing more than a nuisance.' This rule was made to secure the completion of a mission. Even though it was a pretty harsh rule to make, it worked very well. The mission completetion percentages went up from 20% to 60% when I was still in my clan compound all those years ago. I still remember them like the back of my hand.

"I'm...- Get her." He stammered out, staring at me with pure hatred in his eyes. Kind of like how Sasuke did when he first met me and the others. He literally despised all of us.

The other two men ran at me, their leader staying behind the scenes. I made the hand signs for a jutsu.

"Water Style: Raging waves!" I shouted, placing two fingers to my lips. Water came pouring out of my mouth in literal waves, I moved my head around, spreading the water around.

The two men yelped and scattered. I smirked.

"Man..." I muttered similar to how Shikamaru does all the time. I rubbed the back of my neck, purposely giving off a lazy vibe, "I really thought your little hench men would give me a good workout. Pretty sad if I say so myself..."

The leader, or the one who previously shouted at the man known as Kide, snarled at me. "Who are you to be talking?!" He exclaimed.

I smirked at glanced over at younger self, "Me? Oh, my names nothing special to you...but if you have to know, so be it." I went on, walking closer to him, cracking my hands just like Sakura did to Naruto and I.

He backed up in fear. 'Sakura's beating tactics are really coming in handy.'

"Pl-Please, leave me out of this." He begged, falling to his knees.

I shook my head.

"I b-beg of you!" He pleaded harder.

I gritted my teeth together, "You know, maybe if you promise to let go of the little girl you had, I'll let you live." I offered.

He immediately stopped his pleading and blinked, "Let her...go? That monster?" He said, in a tone that made it seem like I was the crazy one here. "Never!"

I grabbed his colar and pulled his wretched face closer to me, "What do you mean by that, huh?!" I shouted.

"What do I mean? I mean that the child you want to protect is nothing but a worthless creature who wishes to destroy everything in her path! Her father told us so! He never lies." He barked back.

I scowled, "Yeah right, like I'd believe a word that man has to say..." I mumbled, tossing him back.

He scrambled to his knees and looked up at me. "You do understand what I'm saying, yes? You do believe me, don't you?" He asked me.

I rolled my eyes, "Oh, trust me. I believe you bud." I said, turning my back to him. I could hear him mutter some bad things about her again, when really, he was talking about me. I was the girl they called monster. "But, sadly, I'm not that monster you think I am." I spun around and kicked him in the jaw, knocking him out.

His head wobbled to the side and he fell to the ground with a thud. I scoffed. My own clan was so weak to start off with, well some of the people were at least. They were too power hungry, blinded by what they thought they needed, but really they wanted it.

I winced at the pain in my wound, it was burning real bad. Looking down, I cursed like a drunken man. I barely noticed the purple liquid oozing out of it. I ignored it for now and walked over to my younger self.

I knelt down and smiled, holding my hand out for her. "Come on, it's safe, sweetie." I assured her.

She hesitated before crawling out from behind the shelf. Once she was out, she stared at me in amazement and wonder.

"You, why...- Why do you look like me?" She asked me, being very smart for her age.

My eyes widened a tad bit, "Oh, you can say that I'm a Hizō too, just like you are!" I stated.

She grinned, "Really?! You're a Hizō like me!" She giggled.

I nodded, "Yeah, just like you." I said, ruffling her hair gently. My heart grew warm at her giggling and voice. I felt so...relieved, happy, estactic.

She clapped and jumped around, "Does that mean the bad men are gone? Am I safe now?" She asked me in a rushed manner.

I laughed, "Yeah, yeah, you're safe. There's no need to be hyper about it." I told her, flicking her small nose with my finger.

"Yay!" She giggled and jumped into my arms, "You saved me..."

I froze, my arms slowly wrapping around her small figure. "Y-you're right... I guess I did." I muttered.

Her arms wrapped around me even tighter than before. I couldn't help but do the same back to her. She was just too cute.

"You're my hero..." She whispered.

My heart beat sped up and my hands clenched the hem of her shirt.

I'm a hero.

A/N: This little book of mine will be coming to an end soon, I believe. By the end of this year - or earlier - I will have completed this book. Then, I will be spending some time on a  sequel if you all decide that I should make one. What do you think?

1) A sequel?

Or

2) No sequel?

I will ask this question again close to the end of this book.
