A MINUTE. THAT'S HOW LONG IT TAKES TO transmit information to others. Perhaps there's some things happening around you that would distract you from the world you're in.  But even after that it only took such little time. Different people tell each other about different things and so on, after all. There was no way to stop it. Not yet, anyways.

A maroon-haired and maroon-eyed boy stood with his back to the rest of the café he resided in, analyzing the menu in front of him with a quiet hum. He couldn't remember what he used to get there. It had been so long that it must have disappeared from his mind without him knowing. With an utterly quiet sigh, he reached to grab his phone out of his pocket. And after a few pressing of buttons he finally found what he needed. He pressed the device to his ear, waiting patiently for an answer.

"Ro! Did you get the drinks yet?" The boy's best friend greeted him in Japanese excitedly on the other line. He wasn't so used to speaking in Japanese anymore, but he was still fluent. He let out an amused chuckle, imagining her expression at the moment quite clearly. "I only turn twenty once, you know!"

Rowan shook his head even though he couldn't see her. "I know, Sara. You keep reminding me." He smiled, listening to her scoff as a response. "I'm getting coffee at our place first. Do you remember what I used to get?"

"You didn't get coffee, stupid. You always said it tasted bitter there." Sara laughed. "You usually get a panini."

"Right." He cursed inwardly at his forgetfulness. "Do you want anything?"

"An expresso for me and a panini for Kousuke. He doesn't care which types." There was rustling on the other line, which made the latter believe the girl was making gestures to their friend. "And don't forget my drinks!"

"Our drinks."

"I don't see you turning twenty. You're underage."

Both friends were silent for a few moments before laughing together. It was so unlikely for the blonde on the call to care about something like that. Even she knew that wasn't like her. And so they continued laughing, the nineteen-year old not caring about the stares he was getting from others at the moment.

"Rowan?"

Said boy turned to be met with a flash of pink hair, his expression falling slightly. Yet, he managed to act as if he was still cheery. The perks of being on a phone call and not talking to someone face to face. "I gotta go, S. I'll see you when I get there." He didn't wait for a response before hanging up and sliding his phone back into the pocket of his joggers, turning back to the girl next to him. "Sakura."

The pinkette grinned, pulling her old friend into a hug. He was caught off guard at first, but he quickly wrapped an arm around her in return. She let go and took a step back after that, getting a good look at him. "You look great. Very handsome." She complimented.

"Thanks. You do too. Real pretty." He replied. "Short hair suits you."

"Thank you! How has it been? Back in America, I mean." Sakura tilted her head at him, genuinely curious.

"Good, good. I've just been spending time with my family. Finishing school." Rowan listed off his achievements. "What about you? How are you and Sasuke?"

"We're taking a... break." Sakura bit her lip.

Rowan sighed. "Sorry about that."

"It's fine. You didn't know." She shook her head to dismiss the apology, putting her hands on her hip. "You aren't going to ask about him?"

"Who?"

"Naruto, of course."

Rowan raised a brow at her. "Why?"

"He misses you." Sakura nudged him. "A lot. You should call him."

He shrugged, perking up as his name was called to collect his order. He took a step forward and grabbed the bag and cup from the counter. "I'm leaving in a week. What's the point?" He paused. "Honestly, Sakura? The only reason I'm here is for Sara and Kousuke. She's turning twenty, and he just got back from school to celebrate. I wouldn't have spoken to you if I didn't run into you here."

She nodded dissapointedly. "I guess I'll see you around, maybe."

"Maybe." He agreed. He let out another sigh, leaning over to give her a friendly kiss on the cheek to make up for his outburst before walking out of the cafe, leaving the emerald-eyed girl alone. She made sure he was completely gone before reaching for her phone and opening it quickly, clicking on the first name in her phone.

"Hey, guess who's back in Japan? Rowan."

...One minute. That's all it takes.
