Chapter 6
Linnea's POV
After we paid our bills for the pizza and cheesecake, we headed out to the beach to take a stroll along the line between the water and sand. There were many people playing volleyball by the park and some little kids were racing around across the playground. There were other girls and boys talking with their friends along the shore like Ethan and I.
"Linnea, may I hold your hand?" Ethan asked me politely as he gazed into my blue eyes. His eyes flickered in happiness and love as he waited for my response.
"Yes, of course!" I exclaimed, I still hate it when my mouth moves before I think things through. Soon, a tight but solid grip wrapped around my hand," God, your hand is so warm!"
"Yours is cold!" Ethan replied as he looked at my cold hand which was tucked under his.
"Opposites. . ." I started with a sly smile seeing if he would know what I was going to say and catch on.
"Attract!" We said in unison laughing as I swung our arms backwards than back to where they were before we started laughing and decided to say that reality quote. After a few seconds of saying that, I realized how stupid that must have sounded.
"You and your weird analogies." Ethan sighed, shaking his head while a smile spread across his face again.
"Hey, you went with it, you know." I retorted, as I shot him a playful glare before shoving him somewhat into the water. Some water splashed on his bangs, making them wet and begin to dangle across his forehead.
I couldn't help but to gaze into his eyes for a moment, registering how alluring he looked with his hair that way and his cheeks bones, oh so prominent. I wanted to kiss him and so much more, but I knew I couldn't. It was still way too early in our relationship.
"Oh, its on." Ethan replied, his child-mode button must have suddenly been turned on because right then he started to chase me around the beach.
As he did so, memories flooded into my head of when we would play tag at recess. Or that one time he tried to chase me into the corner of the room to kiss me, which he never did at the time.
Eventually, we both had tired ourselves out completely and we were currently sitting in the sand, our heads leaning up against each other's shoulders. He suddenly takes my hand gently. The cold I felt on his skin before is gone and was replaced with a delightful heat.
" Well. . ." I started my voice rattling as I muttered. I tucked my loose bang back, again, behind my ear and put my left hand in my jeans pocket as we released each other's firm grip.
We were silent for a few moments as I looks towards the endless ocean while Ethan was watching the younger kids running aimlessly around the beach. Soon, Ethan turned around to face me, I knew he did because I could feel him starring at my back.
It must have been minutes before I realized Ethan had moved, and I felt quite abashed. I slowly stood up, the pebbly sand sticking to my fingers as if I had been sitting there for hours.
"Come here, Linnea." Ethan summoned as he motioned me over to a bench that was somewhat secluded.
I whipped my head around to see Ethan who was seated on a bench underneath an old willow tree; its were branches flying in the wind as the breeze tumbled onto shore.
"Yeah?" I replied anxiously as I sat down next to him, the bench felt warm against my legs since the sun had been hitting it all day. I gazed into his soulful brown eyes and listened to what he was going to have to say next to me.
"I got to tell you a secret, come really close to me, okay? He explained as he motioned me to move close to him. Eventually, we were so close that the tips of our noses were almost touching. I smirked a bit, confused on why he was not telling me anything yet. I came as close as I could to him, his minty breath surrounding me. My heart began to pound harder than ever in my chest.
Then he smirked slowly at me as he caressed my face softly. I then began to run my fingers through his gelled hair. His hands moved slowly down to my arms and he began to rub them softly as he did so. Instantaneously, we leaned in closer to each other and soon I kissed him and he kissed me back, hard. His agile hazel eyes were closed as he enjoyed the moment; I closed mine as well.
I had just kissed Ethan Coon, the hottest boy in the world. This was my first kiss, my first real kiss, and our first kiss together. It was one of my most meaningful moments of my entire life and you know what?
I loved it.
