Chapter 16
"Oh my god!" I shrieked stretching in my bed. " Linnea's coming home today!" I left out of my bed and I bounced around in my room and sang a weird song about her coming home today. I rather not share it because it's quite embarrassing and just plain weird to be honest.
I got into my best and most formal but fancy outfit that I could find and put it on, I could smell pancakes as I opened my door to go downstairs.
"Goodmorning!" Mom sang flipping a pancake that was shaped as the letter, E, for me and C, for Colin.
"Goodmorning!" I sang back pouring some Frosted Flakes into my bowl to go with the pancakes.
"Want any pancakes this morning? I even made blueberry, your favorite, and shaped one like the first letter of your name." Mom added showing off her favorite apron that read, Your opinion was not on the menu!
"Yes, please." I replied pulling my chair out and sitting down, waiting to eat my mom's famous, heavenly and mouth-watering pancakes," thanks for making pancakes for us this morning."
Moms eyebrow curved in confusion at my extreme politeness. I shrugged her look off and began to do a weird dance in my seat . . . I can be so embarrassing sometimes.
"You seem in a good mood today . . . like an interesting good mood." Mom noticed as she examined my happy attitude.
"Oh, yeah, that is just because Linnea is coming back home today and then tomorrow is homecoming!" I exclaimed as I did a little happy dance in my head.
"Ah, I see." Mom nodded raising her eyebrows playfully which sent shivers down my spine.
"Uh-huh." I responded with a mouth full of pancake as I attempted to smile back but it came out with a mouth full of pancake showing instead.

I couldn't take it anymore! I had to call Linnea again, I miss her so much, oh my God.
"Hello?" Linnea asked. I just loved how her voice went so high whenever she answered the phone.
"Hey Linnea! It's me again." I smiled happily, wishing she could see my smiling in front of her.
"Hi, I'm so excited to see you today, we only have one more hour of driving left!" Linnea exclaimed. I could here "In the Night" playing on the radio in the background.
"I thought you were taking the plane home on your own!" I shouted a little to loudly as I felt blood rush up to my face.
"No, plans changed since Madi was accepted pretty much right away." Linnea explained," so she will be moving to New York sometime in the next year or so." I could hear the sadness in her voice already.
"Oh, and that's a bummer. I'm sure you're pretty upset about her moving to New York. . ." I replied with a hint of sadness in my voice also.
"Yeah, I wish she wasn't." Linnea muttered.
"I know." I decided it was time to change the subject to something more exciting," You'll be so happy to hear what I have to tell you!" I explained as I thought about what her reaction might be when I told her I was going to NCSU.
"Trust me, I am!" Linnea replied her voice sounding curious and interested in what I was going to tell her.
