I walked out of the living room and into the main room, where I saw Toby sitting.

"Hello." I said sitting next to him on the bench.

"Hello miss." He said politely.

"Call me Julie." I said with a smile.

"Yes Julie." He said looking down.

"Is something troubling you Toby?"

"Yes" he said very soft.

Oh. I need to lighten the mood. Poor boy. But what? Oh yes!

"Do you like candy?" I said.

"Why yes. But..." He said confused.

I rushed into my room before he could finish his sentence.

"Let's see here..." I said getting some toffees, a chocolate bar and a lollipop out of my bag. Perfect!

I rushed back to Toby with the candy behind my back.

"Guess what I have!" I said in a melody.

"What?" He asked exited.

I dropped the candy onto the table and his face brightened up instantly.

"Oh my! But... how?..."

"I had a good candy hook up back in Cardiff. My friend owned a shop there. And there are lots more where that came from" I said sitting down next to him.

"What are you waiting for? Dig in!"

"But it will spoil my dinner"

"Agh. To hell with dinner. Just think of it as dessert before dinner."

He sat there thinking for a second when he turned to me with a smile.

"I'm so sorry Julie. I haven't even said thank you."

"You're very welcome Toby."

"Are you gonna eat it or not?" I said giving him a playful look.

"Of course!" He chuckled as he started eating the chocolate.

I smiled as I suddenly remembered.

"Toby?"

"Mhm" he said as he looked up at me.

"What has been troubling you?

He put down the chocolate and looked at me.

"Mr. Todd. I don't trust him. He has this kind of develish era around him if ya know what I mean."

I knodded.

"He's bad news I'll tell you that" he said taking a bite out of his chocolate.

"One day. He's gonna end up in a prison I bet ya. Or an asylum. He's just. I haven't seen him do anything wrong or anything but... Agh forget it."

"I understand Toby. I understand completely."

"Now you save some of that candy alright?" I said giving him another playfull look as I walked back to my room.
