Chapter 11
Lucifi yelped as he dodged falling rocks. He had sensed a familiar presence and found Rey coming towards him with her lightsaber in her hand still deactivated. He didn't wait for her to reach him though before ducking through the crowd a moment before a blast from something outside tore at the cavern's stability. Snoke had already fled and the other Knights of Ren, upon seeing one leader abandon the room for a safer place and another lying injured on the floor, had fled or been crushed by rocks and their own allies in the chaos. He wanted to run too, to find a safe place to escape, but he couldn't leave his master to die... not to mention a part of him wanted to turn and face Rey for some unknown reason. It was like she was reminding him of something... Lucifi glanced back at her thoughtfully as she started a battle with some of the remaining Knights of Ren alongside her companion.
Unease filled him, like he was going the wrong way, but he shoved it aside and knelt down as he reached Kylo Ren and Zein. "Master?"
"She's unconscious, she won't hear you." Kylo's voice stopped him from calling to her again.
He turned to look at the fallen man. "We need to leave."
"I know that!" Kylo snapped at him and fell to the ground after a failed attempt to stand.
"Your leg..." Lucifi flinched under the Sith's gaze. "It's dislocated in two places... I'll have to put it back."
Silence followed his words as the Master of Ren stared at him before finally giving him a nod. "Quickly."
He moved into a better position and felt Kylo's leg for the exact points before correcting his hand placement and twisting them. A pop followed the movements but Kylo never flinched or gave any sign of pain, which Lucifi admired greatly as he stood back up and backed away to give Kylo Ren space to move.
"Distract them, I'll get her out of here." Kylo instructed as he picked up Zein's limp form.
Lucifi gave his master's battered form one last look before activating his lightsaber and turning to face Rey as she stalked towards him, the other Jedi and a slightly familiar Wookie in tow. He took his battle stance and scowled at them under his helmet, a slight headache forming in the back of his head. The Wookie made a growling sound and raised his weapon.
"Are you sure Chewie?" The male Jedi questioned.
The Wookie, Chewie, gave another angered sound and fired his weapon, which Lucifi quickly deflected.
"Then he probably knows where Alder is too." Rey responded, though she also cast a glance at Kylo's retreating figure. "Finn, think you can stop him?"
The other Jedi nodded. "Of course."
Lucifi lunged for Finn in an attempt to stop him but came up short as a purple blade activated barely a centimeter in from of his face. Rey's voice made him turn back to her. "You're not going anywhere until I get Alder back."
Chewie made a snarling sound that suggested he didn't want Lucifi leaving at all.
"So be it." He spat at her, his gaze fixated on the purple lightsaber... it called to him for some reason, though that reason was lost to him completely as the fight started and he was forced to deflect her blue lightsaber and the purple one. "You'll never get out of here alive."
Another shudder went through the ceiling and more rock fell around them as they fought. Behind him, Lucifi could see Finn force Kylo Ren to retreat, his mentor no longer with him but lying safely near an overhang to protect her from falling rocks. He knew it wasn't Kylo's fault for being forced to leave her behind but anger surged through him for it... That led to Lucifi's own downfall. Pain flooded him as a blaster hit his stomach and sent him to the ground; blood seeped out of the partially burned wound as he watched Rey block the Wookie from sight, her gaze boring into him like flames.
"Enough Chewie, we need him alive until we find out where Alder is being kept." She walked past him, taking his lightsaber as she went. "Take him to the ship."
Lucifi laughed and started to get back up. "I'm not done that easily."
He raised his hand and summoned his weapon from her hand to his before activating it. Without a second to lose, he lashed out at Rey, making her retreat against his quick attacks until her back was against the wall. Neither of them had gotten a hit, as if they were predicting each other's moves, but he had her with a new trick she probably didn't know he had. Lucifi raised his hand up and watched her eyes go wide as she held her throat... just a little more and she would die.
"Rey!" An invisible hand shoved him aside as Finn came to the rescue.
He shook his head to clear it, the pain worsening by the second until another blaster struck him in the chest as he tried to stand once more. It was a graze at most but it still burned like fire, and it didn't help when the hum of a lightsaber could be heard at the back of his neck. He turned his head slightly as Rey walked over to him; the last thing he saw was the wave of her hand over his face before darkness.
When he woke up he was in a cell chained to a wall. It was dark but he could make out another limp figure across from him in a worse situation... it was his master. Lucifi's chains clinked as he sat up straighter. "Master Zein?"
Her silence sent fear through him but he saw her twitch a bit, which at least meant she was alive. Lucifi jumped as a door opened and watched Rey cautiously as she walked over to him.
"Where is Alder?" The name sent more pain through him.
Lucifi shuddered as the pain started to return with a vengeance. "I don't know who that is."
"Answer my questions truthfully you lying First Order scum." Rey forced him into a standing position, her face glaring through his mask. "You killed a man I had started considering like a father to me and took Alder from me. Where is he?"
An image of an aged man flashed through his mind... was that his father? Han? Yes, that was his name Han! A chill crept through him as horror filled his heart. He had done what? "I k-killed him...?"
"What?" Rey growled through her teeth.
He shook violently and felt his breathing shorten. "No... No...! I couldn't... I couldn't have! I would never kill him..."
Rey's grip loosened and an alarmed expression flashed through her eyes. He paused to stare at her, the familiarity of her presence was soothing but... he had hurt her. Tears stung his eyes as his head fell, though he didn't let them fall. Silence filled the room, stretching for minutes on end.
Finally he spoke again. "Rey, I'm so sorry. I can't... I can't control my actions at times, I swear on my life-"
"What is your life worth?" She cut him off, her anger returning. "Dark sider's are never sorry for their actions so don't pretend you are!"
"I'm not on the Dark side, Rey!" Alder snapped at her, finally remembering who he was once more. "Rey, it's me... I... I killed my own father, Rey."
He felt her enter his mind before withdrawing sharply. A second later his helmet was ripped off so she could see his face. "Force... Alder?"
There was so much pain and confusion in her voice, which made him crack even more inside. Alder fought to stay in control as the poison reared up again and started dragging him back under. He grabbed her as well as he could with the chains currently binding him, and looked her in the eyes. "Help me Rey. I'm... I've been poisoned... It hurts. It's killing me Rey!"
"Poisoned?"
"Hssiss." He gritted his teeth as his eyes rolled back in his head. He couldn't hold on much longer... But he didn't want to become Lucifi again. He didn't want to be that evil man. "Rey... please..."
"Alder!" She caught him as he fell but it was too late. He couldn't feel that person anymore.
Lucifi smirked, and tightened his grip on her before pushing her down to the ground with him on top and choking her with the chain binding his wrists together. She struggled under him as he pressed his weight down but he ignored the blows. "Foolish scavenger... Don't you know not to mess with someone like me? It's a shame really, that I have to kill you; you would have made an excellent Dark side warrior... and a beautiful one too. We could have fought side by side with each other in a different reality perhaps."
He leaned closer to her, his lips nearly brushing hers. "But we could still have some fun before I kill you right? I know you Rey. I know why you tried saving your friend, a lost cause really, and I know why you won't let anyone kill me. You care Rey. You care about the man I've replaced... Just know that you will never get him back."
Lucifi growled the last part as he stared down at her. Her struggles were weakening as the lack of oxygen took its toll. He let up slightly, not wanting to kill her yet, before wincing as she managed to hit his wounded stomach. Anger rose in him, blinding his next movements, though it didn't block out her screams of agony. It didn't last long however because a few minutes later he was dragged off of her, a blaster at the side of his head.
"Rey, are you alright?" It was Finn's voice but a different man holding him back.
Lucifi grinned deviously at her as she got up and backed away from him, conflicted emotions in her gaze. "See you later, Love."
He felt himself being thrown against the wall roughly and shook his head before glaring at the man dressed in a pilot's uniform. The man glared back, though pain was hidden under that anger. "No you won't and if you ever touch her again... I will shoot you."
"Not if I get to him first." Finn muttered, his heart obviously not into the threat completely.
Lucifi merely gave the two an amused, yet annoyed, expression. "We will see about that. Next time her heroes might not be around in time to help her."
"Get a guard to tighten his cuffs." The pilot spat in disgust. "And have them check the other one's restraints as well."
Lucifi glared at them as they shut and locked the door, leaving him in complete darkness once more. He would get out of here, with his master if he could, and when he did those two would need to watch their backs. What he planned to do with them and possibly Rey went beyond even an Inquisitor's loose code. He wouldn't put them through hellish torture; he would make them wish for it more than the sweet release of death.
