Chaos Begins

"So your saying that Gaea is coming back along with her Giant children? Why?"

"Because we just defeated the Titans," Percy answered Athena's question.

"Yes we did, but why would she want to attack us after the fact? Why not help the Titans when they tried to rise? They would have surely beaten us then," Athena ranted as Percy rolled his eyes.

"No offense, but Lady Athena, you think way too damn much. The answer is simple really. Pride."

Everyone looked at him with confusion before he sighed in annoyance.

"Gaea is so prideful that she thinks she can beat us without the help of the Titans when she has the Giants. That is something most have in common. People are so prideful that they can't see clearly sometimes. It is a very useful tool for the enemy to have when it makes their opponent reckless and stupid."

"You just got told by uncle P's son Athena. Looks like seaweed is smarter than you," Apollo laughed at his half sisters enraged face.

Poseidon and Percy laughed at the daughter of Zeus and Metis.

Before she could do anything stupid, Artemis stole her chance.

The goddess of the hunt ran forward, punched Percy in the face, and flashed them both somewhere else.

Percy didn't have time to react as he was punched and then flashed away and then punched again when they arrived to their destination.

Artemis just stared at him, anger clearly evident in her big silver orbs that radiated power.

Percy stared at her, then began laughing.

Artemis looked at him with a very confused expression.

"Why are you laughing?"

He suddenly stopped, his dark sea green eyes seemed to bore into her soul.

"Even after all of this time, you still love me. I would have thought you would have hated me for leaving, but you don't."

Artemis stared at him before she smashed her lips onto his. Percy smiled into the kiss, but their little make out session was ended when someone behind them cleared their throat.

"What do you think you are doing with my sister?"

Percy turned around to see Apollo glaring at him. "I'm doing exactly what it looks like. Question is, what are you going to try and do?"

Apollo took a step forward, but stopped when Artemis aimed her bow at him.

"No, Artemis. Let him try," Percy said, ready to beat the shit out of Apollo if he tried anything.

What neither of them were expecting was for the sun god to come up and wrap Percy in a hug. "Swear on Chaos's name that you will do everything in your power to protect her," Apollo whispered in his cousin's ear.

It took Percy a few seconds to get over his shock, but he quickly responded. "I swear," the son of Poseidon whispered back.

Instead of the usual thunder, lightning struck across the sky and the winds began to gather speed until the world's biggest storm had begun.

"What is going on?"

Percy grimaced before he looked at Artemis. "Go back to the throne room. Me and Apollo have something to do."

Artemis hesitated, but one stern look from both her boyfriend and brother caused her to snap out of it and flash back to the rest of her family.

"It seems the Creator of the universe would like to speak with us as well," Percy said, but on the inside he was terrified. He knew the trials he must go through in order to swear on Chaos's name, but he didn't care as much as he did for Artemis.

"So, do we go to him or does he come to us?"

The sun god seemed just as afraid as Percy, but even he didn't care about the repercussions because he cared for his sister.

Black mist began to swirl around in a circle, which made the two immortals look around cautiously.

"Guess he's coming to us," Percy said, his hand instinctively inching towards his sword.

"You have no use of weapons around me children," a voice said from the black mist.

The voice sounded ancient and raspy, like the person speaking hadn't spoken in millennium.

"Sorry, reflex to creepy stuff."

The raspy voice chuckled slightly. "I noticed, son of Poseidon."

Percy figured if his intelligence wasn't going to get him anywhere then maybe his humor would. Maybe.

"So are you like our great, great, great, grandfather? Can I call you gramps?"

Apollo facepalmed at his cousins stupidity. "Did you just call the creator of the universe gramps?"

Percy blushed a bit in embarrassment. "Yes."

Chaos was silent as he listened to his two descendants argue over why the son of Poseidon shouldn't have called him gramps.

He was actually amused by the nickname.

"While I thought that it was pretty funny, I have come to talk to both of you about an oath you made a few minutes ago."

Both immortals gulped and looked at Chaos as if he was going to wipe them from existence.

"Of course, what would you like to discuss," Percy said, starting to think he needed to be careful about what he said from now on.

"You have sworn on my name, the first to do so that I have let live. Tell me, why should I let you to continue living?" Chaos asked, his voice deep and ancient, but both cousins could clearly hear the sincere curiosity in the ancient Primordial.

"I made the oath because Apollo wanted me to. I will never let anyone or anything to harm her. Nothing will keep me from her, not even you." Percy said, prepared to die fighting the creator of the universe if he had to.

"I am here to see why you chose to swear on my name. Now that I have the information I need I will bless you so that you may defeat my daughter and the others."

"Others?" Apollo asked.

Even if he didn't have a body at the moment, Apollo could feel his presence shift its gaze to the son of Zeus and Leto.

"Yes, it seems Gaea has gotten a few of her siblings to join in her war effort. You need a hero and I need a champion. I am willing to provide both."

Both Percy and Apollo seemed to be thinking over their ancestors offer.

Before Apollo could say anything else, Percy had, made up his mind. "I will do it, but you must promise me something."

"And what would that be?"

"Make sure Artemis comes out alive. Do not let her get hurt or killed. You do not have to worry about me. I will be fine as long as I can master my powers. That is all I ask."

Chaos was silent for a few moments before a light chuckle was heard from the black mist. "Deal, son of Poseidon, champion of the Fates and Chaos, bane of evil. Let it be known that of this second, you are my warrior, my friend, and my enforcer."

Percy almost fainted from the extremely shocking news. "Of course, Chaos."

Percy had kneeled when he said that and Chaos had decided it to be the best time to bestow his blessing upon the millennia old immortal demigod.

A beam of pure dark energy shot from the black mist and slammed into the son of Poseidon, nocking him back thirty feet.

Apollo went to help him, but Chaos had beat him to it. "He will be fine. He must let his body rest so that his body can adjust to the power. He will be awake in two days. Until then, let no one, but your sister see him and do not tell anyone why. He must be awake to defend himself from Zeus if we wish to keep him.

Apollo nodded before the black mist dispersed until there was nothing left. The sun god turned his attention to his unconscious cousin. "It seems that you have even more power, little cousin." Apollo said before grabbing the immortal demigod and taking him to his palace.
