22-Years-Old
Yoongi sighed as he sat down on the crowded bus. He was finally headed home after a long day at work, followed by a long evening of overtime. It wasn't too often that he worked overtime, but when he did, it really took it out of him.
He dreaded having to go home and cook himself dinner, and briefly considered grabbing some takeaway on the way. But then he'd have to get off the bus before his stop, find a place to go, grab the food, then catch the bus again. And that didn't sound like something he wanted to do any more than cooking.
He just hoped they had some instant ramyeon at home that he could make quickly. It didn't sound terribly appealing, but it was better than the alternative.
He finally reached home and the first thing he noticed when he walked in was the smell of delicious, freshly cooked food. He looked around and saw Aera asleep on the couch. He walked into the kitchen, and saw stew simmering on the stove and the rice cooker full of rice.
"A," he said as he headed back into the living room. He bent down beside her and gently rubbed her back to wake her slowly. "A, your food is done cooking."
"Hmm?" Aera began to stir.
"Your food," Yoongi repeated. "It's ready."
Aera slowly opened her eyes. "What are you talking about?"
"Your food," Yoongi said yet again.
"Oh no, that's for you," Aera said as she righted herself fully.
"Me?"
"Yeah, I figured since you were working late, you'd be hungry when you got home."
A big grin spread across Yoongi's face. "You did this for me?"
"Well, sure."
"Thank you," Yoongi said earnestly. "I really appreciate it."
Aera smiled at him. "It's not a problem."
"But you didn't have to do that," Yoongi said. "It means a lot."
Aera shrugged, and Yoongi turned and headed to the kitchen. He began preparing his food, and smiled as he realized it was one of his favorite meals. He should've known she would do something like this.
Aera never let him down.
