"I gotta go!" Naruko waved goodbye and ran out of the house.

Noticing the girl standing in front of her yard she ran up to her.

"Sasumi-chan!" She cried.

"Naruko? What were you doing in Hyuga's house?" She put her hand on her hip.

"Oh I was-" Naruko suddenly felt a raging fire behind her.

"He's right behind me, isn't he?" She turned pale.

"I'm going to kill you." Saku suddenly realized Sasumi standing in front of him.

"Oh. H-hi, Sasumi-chan." His blush almost matched his hair.

"Hey." She titled her head confused as to why he was blushing.

Being distracted he hadn't noticed that Naruko had slid from his grip and was already running away.

"NARUKO!" He tightened his fist.

"Sorry Sasumi-chan, how about we go on a date sometime?" He asked.

"Wouldn't even dream about it." She crossed her arms.

Immediate Rejection!

"I thought so." He laughed nervously.

"Well I gotta go, bye!" He ran after Naruko.

Before she was able to walk back inside she had noticed the Hyuga boy from earlier sitting on the porch with a book in his hand.

"Who reads anymore?" She walked towards him as he smiled at her.

"Sasumi-chan." He said.

"Hyuga." She said realizing she had forgotten his name.

"Did you forget my name?" He laughed.

"So what if I did?! Not like it matters anyways!" She said flustered.

"It's Hino." He said.

"I knew that." She crossed her arms again.

"What are you reading?" She asked a bit interested in the type of person he was.

The only thing she knew was that they were neighbors and rivals. He had short blueish hair with lavender eyes just like every other Hyuga.

"Eleanor and Park." He said.

"Sounds boring."

"It's actually really good but you're allowed to have your own opinions. Have you read the book?"

"No." She said

"Here. I'll let you borrow it." He handed the book to her.

"What makes you think I'll read this?!" She put her hands on her hips.

"I know you will." He smiled.

She took the book as she looked at the cover.

Suddenly she had noticed a drop of water hitting the book then more.

"Here." He removed his jacket and placed on top of her head.

"I don't need this I live right across the street!" She said.

"I wouldn't want you getting sick either way." He walked back inside.

"You can give the book back to me whenever you're done!" He waved.

"Baka!" She yelled as she still had his jacket on top of her head. She held the book closer to her chest as she lifted the jacket with one hand and ran across the street.

Maybe this was the start of something new.
10 years later.
"Sasumi-chan!" She heard her name being called downstairs.

Brushing her long black hair one last time, she grabbed her backpack and placed it over her shoulder.

She opened the door only to be greeted by Naruko and Saku.

"You don't have to wait for me, you know." She sighed.

"So what? We leave no members behind!" Naruko laughed.

"Good morning, Sasumi-chan." Saku blushed.

"Good morning, Saku."

Sasumi looked over to the house in front of hers. After returning that book, they had hung out more often. They got to know each other better and she had to admit to defeat. The book was good. But ever since then, Hino had stop seeing her less and had stop also coming to school.

"Sasumi-chan, are you okay?" Saku asked.

"Yes." She began walking with them as Naruko complained how she was failing math & Saku getting annoyed because she kept throwing cheesy pick up lines at him.

"See you later, Sasumi!" The two waved goodbye as they closed their lockers and left to home room.

Sasumi closed her locker also as she began walking down the halls. She hadn't noticed it but a crowd of girls had formed blocking her path to class.

"May I please get through?" She heard a voice come from the center of the crowd.

Suddenly the girls moved out of the way as the boy passed her.

The boy was tall, with long blueish hair tied into a ponytail and with piercing lavender eyes that could only belong to one person.

"Hino?" Sasumi turned around as the boy stopped in his tracks.

"Sasumi-chan?" He smiled like he did before.
