Kyle's POV

"When is the baby due?" Meeps asked.

"Uhh, soon?" Lady Azura replied. "We're not exactly sure."

"What will you name it?" Meeps asked, seeming really interested.

"She loves children," Andrew told them. "When she was younger, she always watched over the little ones even at the age of five."

Meeps looked sad. "They didn't deserve to die though." She said.

"Yeah," Andrew said. "I agree. Nobody deserved to die from the Entity. I miss our father too and everybody else."

I stayed silent, remembering that Meeps and Andrew had lost their homes years ago. 

I'm lucky to still have a home. Not everybody has that luxury these days.

"The world is a cruel place," Meeps said, her voice shaking. "The little ones... they don't deserve to be in such a horrifying world, they're too innocent for that. The children... they should live in a world that's safer," Meeps turned to Lady Azura. "Whatever happens, I-I hope your child doesn't have to grow up, worrying if today is the last day they'll live. Even if they're born during a time like this, I hope it won't stay that way for long and that they'll grow up, not even remembering it. I hope they grow up, not terrified for their lives and loved ones, not haunted by death. I really hope that doesn't happen to them. I want them to live an innocent childhood like they're supposed to. Their innocence shouldn't be destroyed at such a young age. I really hope that never happens, because it's too late for me. The little souls, they're supposed to be so innocent and pure, and yet, the world won't let that happen. They deserve better. I hope your child will grow up in a better world."

Meeps looked like she was about to cry, something I don't think any of us, except for Andrew had ever witnessed.

"Meeps?" Lady Azura asked. "Are you alright?"

Meeps nodded with tears in her eyes. "Yeah," she said, her voice cracking. "I-I just need to leave."

We watched as Meeps left.

"She'll be alright," Andrew sighed. "But the good news is that you'll have someone to watch over your child."

Lady Azura nodded, looking troubled.

I hope this ends soon. I thought.

And then, I heard the sirens go off.
