THE DARK TRUTH

Hello! This is the final chapter of my story so hope you enjoy. See you on the other side...

Amelie lay tossing and turning in her sleep. She had hardly slept at all and confusing thoughts wove their way through her head as she slipped in and out of dreams. Suddenly her eyes fluttered open and she sat up abruptly.

Dad!

She suddenly knew that this, this seemingly ordinary jar, held all the answers to her questions. This jar could tell her about her dad; Why he left Amelie and her mother, Where he is now, and why they couldn't see him.

Amelie picked up the jar and smashed it on the corner of her bedside table. She caught the memories as the glass shattered on the floor. They felt soft and wispy, like cotton wool, but were transparent and almost invisible. Amelie knew instinctively what to do. She put the memories in her mouth and swallowed them. She found that they tasted funny, like metallic water. No sooner had she put them in her mouth, the memories flooded back to her.

All of a sudden, Amelie realised, that all of the jars that sat underneath the black shroud were there because the innocent owners of those dreams could never come back to get them. One terrible reason; her father.

Now I know why my father is gone, I realise that knowing the truth is not always best, and sometimes it is just better to be left in the dark, even if you don't realise it at the time.

Now the jar lies broken and for me there is no going back........

Ok. So, It's done. I hope you have enjoyed this. I know the ending is a bit depressing. Sorry if you wanted it to pan out differently.

To be quite honest; I don't really think this story was the best. It was kind of just a booster thing to get me started, I suppose. I wrote it a while ago and put it on here as a first step. No regrets though.

I have now decided to write something completely different, which will, hopefully, appeal to more people. It is a kind of teenage fiction, romance, funny story called: A Goody Two Shoes Called Rebel. Oh, and I think it will be a bit longer than this; not hard to beat, really, though.

Sorry for the lecture I have just written. Anyways, thank you for reading this, I hope you liked it.
