BOSPHORUS CRUISE
it's second to the last night of the tour, as we head up for the bosphorus cruise to check out the admirable views of the late night istanbul.
the cruise offers a lot of activities and authentic parties, but i have found myself slipping into the viewing dock instead. of course doyoung also managed to get away as he follows me into the dock a few minutes after, all set for another adventure.
"i was wondering where you went,"
"kim doyoung-ssi,"
"hm?"
"you know i don't follow you around here because i know you wouldn't get lost in a boat ride, right?"
he smiles. "these last few days wasn't you following me around, for it was the opposite."
"any reasons to do it like so?"
"because i'm always distracted," he admits, "and you're the only one who manages to keep me away from it. hell, now i have made you as a whole new distraction."
"me?"
"of course, in a good way." he puts his hand on the railing, feeling the breeze of the ocean air. "look at the stars, man, they really brightening the line where the skies meet the sea—"
"yah, don't change the subject." i cut him off. "you see me.. as a distraction?"
"you have made me care of my surroundings,"
"you always do."
"not always. i see beauty in everything, but i simply see it as a masterpiece hung up on the wall. you have made it better, by making me realize that this beauty is clearly made to be shared with others."
"i still don't understand."
"the excitement in me has yet to be tamed once i've decided to share all of my thoughts to you. you, who didn't mind my explosive reactions. you, who let me speak of my fascinations, my dramatic elevations. you, who have distracted me into thinking my thoughts are worth validated."
"you are worth the attention, doyoung-ssi. the way you express your interests, never fail to make me feel the same way as you do, too." i reply. "have you ever thought of writing your thoughts? compile them up into interesting entries?"
he looks down. "you think anyone would read it?"
"of course they would." i smile. "i would love to see the world the way you do. your choice of words and the way you describe it, it makes me see the beauty within. for what i've seen is good, but the way you see it makes it a hundred times better."
"ah.. i'm flattered." his cheeks flush red. "i didn't expect such lovely comment from you. thank you."
we let the topic aside as we gaze over the beautiful aegean coast, the twinkling streets of istanbul city. i glance over him, seeing the lights reflecting upon his brown eyes, such a beautiful sight.
"kim doyoung-ssi,"
"hm?"
"i'm sorry for leaving you alone at göreme valley."
he shakes his head. "the skies were beautiful that night, sad we weren't able to see it together and discuss of how lovely it was."
"i would like to make it up to you for that night," i say, making an offer. "what do you say about going to best place to view the night skies of istanbul?"
he raises his eyebrow. "you know a place?"
"i've stayed here for a couple of years, i know the playground."
he purses his lips.
"why are you thinking so hard for such easy question?" i ask.
"i'm not thinking hard."
"yes you are, you're pursing your lips."
he grins, subtly avoiding eye contact. "okay, i would love to."
"great, tomorrow night then."
"yup. it's a date."
"no, it's not—"
"yes. it is."
if only i knew how heartbroken i was the next day.
