Target Vote 🎯 - 10

Recap - In the village of Oia Mason and shayra were having a good time together, They did the photoshoot for Shayra's social media post, and after that, they had a good meal together in the afternoon, Once they were done with lunch, they had the stupid fight about who is going to pay the bill.

Author POV

Nope, I said that I was paying it and that was final, she scanned the QR Code and paid the money online.

Why are you like this shayra, why do you never listen to me? said Mason who is a little upset because Shayra paid the bill for their food.

Mason, I never want to depend on anybody, and when you were not here for the whole damn 5 years, I did all this myself.

So I am not ready to be dependent on you, and please don't make a big deal out of it, shayra said frustratedly and got from her seat and went outside the restaurant, her intention wasn't to get mad at Mason, But she wasn't able to control her emotions.

Mason who realised his mistake went after her, just then Shayra's toe slipped from the stairs and she stumbled slightly, causing Mason to instinctively reach out and steady her.

His hand found her arm, his touch firm yet gentle, steadying her before she could fall further.

Shayra looked up at him, startled by the sudden contact. For a moment, they locked eyes, the intensity of the moment palpable between them.

"Careful," Mason murmured softly, his voice tinged with concern.

Shayra nodded slightly, her heart racing not just from the stumble, but from the closeness of Mason.

She felt a rush of conflicting emotions - gratitude for his quick reflexes, confusion over their unresolved conversation, and a flicker of something deeper that she couldn't quite define.

"Thanks," she managed to say, her voice slightly breathless.,

Mason withdrew his hand slowly, giving her space, but his eyes remained locked on hers. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," she replied, a hint of uncertainty in her voice. "Just... caught off guard."

They stood there for a moment, the breeze carrying the scent of the sea around them, before Shayra broke the silence. "I think... we should head back to the hotel."

Mason nodded, his expression unreadable. "Sure."

They walked back in silence, each lost in their own thoughts. The tension between them was palpable, words hanging unspoken in the air. As they reached the hotel lobby, Shayra turned to Mason, a question in her eyes.

"Would you... like to come up for a while?" she asked hesitantly.

Mason hesitated for a fraction of a second before nodding. "Yeah, I'd like that."

Together, they rode the elevator up to Shayra's room in silence, the anticipation building with each passing second. As they reached her door, Shayra turned to face Mason, her gaze searching his.

"Thank you," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Mason reached out, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "For what?"

"For... everything," Shayra replied, her voice catching slightly. "For today. For being here."

Mason's hand lingered on her cheek, his touch gentle. "I'll always be here, Shayra."

She closed her eyes briefly, a tear escaping down her cheek.

When she opened them again, Mason was looking at her with such tenderness that it took her breath away.

Without another word, she unlocked the door and let them both into the room.

Inside, the atmosphere was charged with unspoken words and unfulfilled desires. Shayra turned to face Mason, her heart pounding in her chest.

This moment felt like the culmination of years of longing, of pain, and of hope.

Mason stepped closer, closing the distance between them.

He cupped her face in his hands, his thumbs gently wiping away the tear on her cheek.

Shayra leaned into his touch, her eyes searching his for any hesitation, any doubt. But there was none.

And then, finally, their lips met in a kiss that spoke of everything they had been through, everything they had lost, and everything they had found again in each other.

As Mason and Shayra's kiss deepened, they felt years of pain and separation melt away. The world outside ceased to exist; there was only the two of them, connected in a moment of pure emotion.

They pulled back slightly, breathless, their foreheads resting against each other. Shayra's hands were on Mason's chest, feeling the rapid beat of his heart.

"I'm sorry," Mason whispered. "For everything."

Shayra shook her head, her eyes still closed. "We both have things to apologize for. But right now, I just want to be with you."

Mason nodded, his hands still cupping her face. "I'm not going anywhere."

They stood like that for a while, wrapped in each other's warmth, before Shayra gently pulled away and led Mason to the small couch by the window.

The view of the sea was breathtaking, the horizon painted in hues of orange and pink as the sun began to set.

"Let's sit," she suggested, her voice soft.

They sat down, the closeness between them comfortable and reassuring. Shayra leaned her head on Mason's shoulder, feeling a sense of peace she hadn't felt in a long time.

"I missed this," she admitted quietly. "I missed us."

Mason's arm wrapped around her, holding her close. "Me too. More than you know."

For a while, they sat in silence, simply enjoying each other's presence. But the unspoken words between them lingered, and Shayra knew they needed to address them.

"Mason," she began hesitantly, "why did you leave? I know you had your reasons, but I need to understand."

Mason sighed, the weight of the past heavy on his shoulders. "I thought I was doing the right thing.

My career was taking off, and I thought it would be better for you if I wasn't around to complicate things.

I wanted to give you space to grow and achieve your dreams without me holding you back."

Shayra lifted her head to look at him, her eyes filled with pain.

"But I didn't need space. I needed you. We could have faced everything together."

"I know that now," Mason said, regret evident in his voice. "I was scared. Scared of failing you, of not being enough.

So I took the coward's way out."

Shayra reached for his hand, intertwining their fingers. "We've both made mistakes.

But we're here now. Can we move forward together?"

Mason looked into her eyes, seeing the hope and vulnerability there. "Yes. I want to make things right.

To build a future together, if you'll have me."

Shayra smiled, a genuine, heartfelt smile. "I'd like that."

Their conversation continued late into the evening, sharing their hopes, fears, and dreams for the future.

They talked about everything they had missed in each other's lives, laughing and crying together as the bond between them grew stronger.

As the night deepened, they found themselves wrapped in each other's arms, the past finally laid to rest.

They knew there would be challenges ahead, but for the first time in a long time, they faced them together.
