Recap - Shayra and Mason had already reached in Greece in the morning and Mason had prepared a good surprise for her, he had bought a penthouse, and also decorated it with their pictures from 5 years ago, and also the pictures of shayra from her travel vlogs.



Shayra POV

A wave of emotions crashed over me - love, pure thankfulness, and complete and utter shock. How? When? Where'd he even dig up those old photos?

Before I could even think of a question, I was flying at Mason, wrapping him in a hug so tight I thought I might have squeezed the air out of him. "Mason," I choked out, my voice thick with everything I was feeling. "How did you pull this off?"

He chuckled, that deep, familiar sound that always made me feel safe. "Let's just say I have my secrets, sweetheart. So? What do you think? Did you like the surprise?"

Of course, I loved it, So this was your surprise, that's why you didn't let me put the blindfold outside?

Mason's smile faltered slightly. A flicker of unease crossed his eyes, a fleeting moment Shayra almost missed. He recovered quickly, though, saying in a sincere tone, "What do you think?

I didn't answer him anything, and just went towards him and hugged him.

Shayra goes toward him and engulfs him in a tight hug, As this is the first time, that someone has done something special for her, she doesn't have anyone from her side, As her mom and dad were in the Army, so haven't got the normal childhood when growing up, As she used to stay at home, or with her grandmother, Because her mom and dad use to stay at duty most of the time.

And Now they are No More, As they died in the war when some serious issue was going on in the Country, They died when Shayra was 5 years old, But her grandmother, hadn't informed her at that time, because shayra was too small to tell her about the harsh reality, that her mom and dad died.

Her Grandma used to say, whenever shayra asked about, them that they are on duty or busy in work that's why they can't talk to her, It wasn't until Shayra turned ten, refusing to celebrate her birthday without them that the truth came crashing down.

The army, once a symbol of pride, became an embodiment of loss. It took her parents, her childhood, and the joy of birthdays.

As she hadn't heard from them in the last five years, So Grandma informed her about the demise of her mom and dad. From then on, she hated the army and her birthday, At first because of this army job, her mom and dad never really spent any time with her.

And now they aren't there for her, The Army took everything from her, her mom and dad, they took it all.

That's why she stopped celebrating her birthday also, because on the day of her birthday, she got the news of her mom and demise, and she never really felt like celebrating it as she doesn't want to celebrate her birthday alone and without them, The birthday for her is full of painful memories.

Once she turned 18th and completed college, she left her hometown Calvia [ Balearic Islands ], came to Barcelona City, started working for a corporate company, and rose to a good position with her hard work and determination.

One day, when she was attending her best friend's wedding she met Mason there and they instantly felt some sort of connection, It's like there was some invisible thread, that was pulling them together, At that day they talked continuously for 3 hours nonstop on random things, and after that, they used to meet often.

After the wedding of her Best Friend, Mason confessed his feelings on the seventh day itself, when he wasn't able to keep it to himself, As it was getting hard for him, He knew that she didn't like the army and spies or any job, where your life is at risk.

Because he had already done the background check on her, he knew about everything related to her, what she feared the most, her favourite colour, Food, her likings and dislikes, Mason knew everything.

But Mason wanted to give it a try, he knew he had lied to her regarding his job with Shayra, He knew the life of a spy was always in danger, and shayra had already lost her parents in the war, That's why she feared the most of losing her closed ones.

Mason thinks that on somedays when he gets the time, he will tell her about his job to shayra.

And make her understand that spy's job is not that dangerous because if she gets to know about his job from other people.

Shayra will be upset and will break up with him at that instant. He wanted to be selfish here for his feelings and see if it would work between them or not.

It worked out well between them, as it's like they have known each other for a long time. But he suddenly received a call from his family, As his family needed him urgently.

So he had to return to [UK] London and informed shayra on the same morning when he was leaving for London, and told her that he would be back as soon as possible.

But he never returned to Barcelona, As he had to go, On a secret mission.

To capture and get the information about one of the terrorists who was working and taking innocent lives, and some other big shots and some people from politics also helping that terrorist, So his head of the defence minister, Informed him about this and told him to go on this mission, As he have to go on this mission, He left from UK within One week after meeting his family.

[ Past Memory Lane Completed ]

This is the first surprise she had got after the whole five years.

Shayra became so emotional, that she started crying slowly in Mason's arms, and when Mason felt her sniffing and stopping herself from crying, she had already wet his shirt because of her crying, Shayra felt bad for ruining his clothes. Mason said in a sweet voice consoling her.

Shayra sweetheart, Please don't cry, It hurts here, he pointed towards his heart and said to her.

Baby, we are here for a vacation, your travel logs & also to enjoy ourselves after a long time, so you shouldn't cry, I am here with you.

I am sorry for the past, That I wasn't there with you when you needed me the most, But this time I am not going everywhere you are stuck with me forever. He said in a teasing tone to shayra.

Shayra looked upwards toward him from the hug and felt better, as his way of making any serious situation a simple one and making her feel better.

You know Mason, you really understand me so well, and always keep my mind at rest.

Whenever I start overthinking in any situation, you make me understand that situation, and keep my overthinking at bay by saying this, she did something unexpected and kissed him in the side chick and ran upstairs to the Bedroom and locked the doors.

As her heartbeat is beating so fast, she feels like she has just run a marathon, she calms down her heartbeat, and takes her suitcase from the Cupboard, As it is already placed by the maid and other necessities.

She took out her summer dress from the suitcase other accessories which she would wear along with it, and went into the bathroom, to get ready.
