Recap - Mason and Shayra, after a near fall incident at a restaurant, spend a night together at a hotel in Oia, where they reconnect and feel a renewed sense of purpose. The next day, they explore the island, enjoying each other's company, food, and beautiful surroundings.
During a meal, Shayra expresses her fears of losing Mason again, stemming from her past experiences. Mason reassures her of his commitment, promising he won't leave her again. After dinner, Mason surprises Shayra with a private cruise as a pre-wedding gift.
As they enjoy the romantic setting, fireworks light up the sky, spelling out "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" Mason proposes, kneeling before her with a ring, asking Shayra to marry him.
Author POV
"Sorry, did you say pre-wedding gift?" Shayra asked, realization dawning on her. "Whose wedding are we talking about, Mr. Rich Brat?"
They climbed to the top of the cruise, which was decorated with flowers and balloons, glowing softly with golden lights. The breathtaking view of the sea made it feel like they had been transported to another world.
As they stepped onto the deck overlooking the sea, fireworks burst into the sky. In awe, Shayra gazed up and saw “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” spelled out among the brilliant colors.
Kneeling down beside her, Mason pulled out a ring and asked, “Shayra Windsor, will you make me the happiest man on earth by marrying me?”
Shayra's POV
I covered my face with my hands, not wanting this moment to be a dream. Even if it were just a dream, I didn’t want to wake up. I was stunned, standing there almost like a statue who had seen a ghost.
Saying I was shocked would be an understatement. I couldn’t believe this was really happening—Mason was proposing to me! I hadn’t even dreamed of this moment, but here I was with the love of my life, Mason, right in front of me.
I need you to say something because I could stay in this moment forever, but my knees were hurting and on top of that… “Please reply, sweetheart; I can’t even breathe properly,” Mason said, unsure of what my answer would be.
I kneeled down in front of him so we were at the same height and said, “Of course, I am!” Then I wrapped my arms around him in a hug.
I couldn’t shake the thought that I had faith in destiny bringing us together. This hope always pushed me forward to achieve my goals and passions.
After achieving so much love and support from my fans and followers in my career as a content creator, now I had my man who loved me unconditionally. He returned to me after something tormenting. I didn’t know where he had been or what he had gone through in the last five years, but now I didn't want to lose him again. That thought filled my mind and made me cry in his embrace.
We sat there for a while, saying nothing, just enjoying the peaceful silence. Mason calmed me down, rubbing my back gently.
Author POV
Shayra was crying, overwhelmed by something she never expected to happen in her life. After Mason went missing, she never imagined she would get married. But here they were, back in each other’s arms. They had fought through all the odds, and their love had remained unchanged even after five years apart.
Mason's POV
Finally, she said yes to me! At first, I thought she might reject me since we had just reunited. But here we were, wrapped in each other's arms like we used to be in the past.
I didn’t notice at first, but after a moment, I felt Shayra start to cry silently. I knew she didn’t want me to see her tears, so I didn’t say anything.
I let her cry it out, rubbing her back to help her relax. I could only imagine how hard it was for her to be on her own for so long. I whispered soothing words to help her calm down, worried that if she cried too much, she would make herself sick.
“Shayra, it’s okay. You’ve cried enough for one day. It’s a special moment for you, sweetheart. Please don’t cry; it breaks my heart to see you like this.”
“I promise this will be the last time you cry. From now on, any tears will be tears of happiness. I’ll do everything I can to make your life beautiful, and I’ll make up for the last five years we lost.”
“Just please stop crying, or your Rich Brat will join you in your tears.”
Shayra stopped crying and tried to hold back a laugh at my joke.
“So, Mr. Rich Brat, have you thought this through? Because if you marry me, I won’t be leaving at all. Not in this life or any future life,” Shayra said, playing with the chain I wore.
“Of course, Mrs. Rich Brat, I’ve thought it through. I’ve never been so sure about anything in my whole life—except this.”
“It’s good to know you understand what you’re signing up for,” Shayra said, giggling like a teenager who had just met her favorite K-pop star.
I placed the ring in her hand, and we sat there together, looking out at the sky and the sea. It was so peaceful; it finally felt like home.
Out of nowhere, Shayra turned to me and said, “Thank you for today.” Her head rested on my shoulder.
“Thank you,” I replied, kissing the top of her head. “For giving us another chance.”
We stood there, watching the sky filled with stars and the beautiful moon from the cruise, feeling grateful for the journey that had brought us to this moment. As the stars began to twinkle in the night sky, they knew their story was just beginning, with many more chapters to come.
