Max was waiting for this "surprise". (Y/N), on the other hand, was just enjoying the moment. That was the good part because at least she's happy. That was all that mattered.

"Okay guys, we all need to make an announcement to both Max and (Y/N)." Red stood up from the couch some were sitting in. Everyone went behind Red while Max and (Y/N) were confused.

"Announcement?" (Y/N) asked walking side by side with Max. Max sighed, a small grumble coming from his mouth.

"(Y/N), Max, we all know." Red continued with raised eyebrows. The two on the other side of the room didn't say anything.

"We all know you guys love each other." Adam started fangirling a little. He got jumpy and giddy when he said that.

Max and (Y/N) looked at each other shocked, playing as if neither of them liked each other.

"Oh c'mon!! We've all seen it to believe it. Whenever you two see each other at work, Max always makes small talk. And it so happens (Y/N) walks by Max's station to go to the printer when the printer is on the other side of the building." Em scoffs pointing out real facts. She steps forward to the two blushing people who dare not to look at each other.

"Guys, heads up." Em demands.

Max's head moves up and his face was red and (Y/N) didn't want to move. She only played with her fingers.

"Please tell me this is some kind of j-joke." (Y/N) stuttered. She rarely stutters, so this is a whole new level of nervousness.

"(Y/N), it's not a joke.." Max replies. Everyone else floods out of the room to give the two some space. (Y/N) raises her head up at Max.

"I really do like you. Ever since I saw you at the mall for the first time (in forever), something just...hit me."

There was a silence between (Y/N) and Max. (Y/N) didn't know what to say, or how to react.

"Max I don't want this to be rushed." (Y/N) sighed out. "Our friends want us to be together, and that's awesome, because I like you too!!" Her tone was more lighthearted. Max smiled, his heart racing a little.

"But I wanna take things slow for now. I don't know if I'm ready for a relationship...since you know...I just got out of one." (Y/N) explained bowing her head down. Max understood her reason before taking her hands in his.

"I understand. I'm willing to take this slow. As long as I'm with you." Max grinned bringing (Y/N) into his arms.

(Y/N) hugged Max tightly, smiling into his chest.

"Thank you, Max."

"Hey, what are friends for?"

Friends? More like two people who don't know where their relationship is going yet.
