Everyone Knows

One more day before (Y/N) had to go back to Washington and she was relieved. Thankfully she didn't break down and pass out at her Aunt's funeral in front of 100 people; that would've been embarrassing.

Now that being over, what was going on with Max? Why did everyone ask (Y/N) for help? Why her?

Hopefully it was nothing too serious. Good thing this happened after the funeral so (Y/N) wouldn't have to be overwhelmed.

Max headed back to work. He didn't want to, but he did anyways. What if everyone starts questioning him? Max would not enjoy that at all.

In a few minutes, Max made it to the building. He walked in casually as if nothing happened. But he expected his co-workers to come up to him.

"Oh finally," someone breathed. Max moved his head up to find Em in front of him. "We were worried sick. You wouldn't answer your phone."

Max shrugged walking past Em. "I didn't want to." He muttered while approaching his work station.

Max opened his computer and sighed. Relaxation was over, now he has to edit more videos.

As he was cutting and pasting video content, he started to wonder about (Y/N), about that call earlier.

Did he have to lie about whatever is going on? Or should he have told the truth. Lying gives people more time to figure things out, but telling the truth will bring off that heavy burden. But if Max did tell (Y/N) what was really happening, would they relationship ever be the same?

Max didn't want to risk that; not with (Y/N) of course. He wanted to tell her in a perfect way. He didn't just want the words to spill out of everyone's mouths because they found out. Max wanted it to be personal, but what so personal about his life now?

"Hey Max, you know (Y/N)'s coming home tomorrow?" Tim's voice broke Max's train of thought. He turned to Tim with a nod and a small smile.

He was happy (Y/N) was coming back. This whole week was hell without her. And only Max knew that.

"Yeah I'm going to pick her up at the airport." Max stated before going back to his computer. The thought of meeting (Y/N) again made Max a little jumpy.

He was excited about it, and hopefully (Y/N) was too. He wanted to hug her again and talk to her. He wanted to see the ways her eyes light up whenever she suddenly gets happy, or when her actions turn almost deadly when she's frustrated with work.

'Fuck, dude. Snap out of it.'

Max's thoughts brought himself back to reality as he found himself zoning out. Max sat up in his chair while blinking rapidly to wake himself up.

'Just finish two more videos for next week and then you can go home'

"I know he likes (Y/N), Adam." Em was leaning against the door frame crossing her arms. Adam was seating in his chair with his hand on his chin.

"He has been acting down lately. Probably because (Y/N) isn't here.." Adam assumed. Em nodded with a smirk.

"What if we do something for them? (Y/N) is coming back from Louisiana tomorrow and Max is gonna pick her up." Em now was standing straight up as she proposed the idea.

"When Max leaves, we can decorate the place to say 'Welcome back (Y/N)'. Then when Max already has (Y/N), we tell him to come to the office. After, we tell Max the plan to ask to (Y/N) out, and if all goes well, boom." Em explained throughly. She took a breath from her rambling as Adam was making a decision.

"We should do that. Like right now because we need time to buy the stuff and made that 'Welcome' poster." Adam got up from his chair and walked out of his office.

Adam grabbed his keys and Em followed. They both got into Adam's car and drove to Party City or Target.

"We have to let the other guys know about this." Adam stated while driving.

"I'm on it right now." Em droned as she was typing a text to send to everyone EXCEPT Max and (Y/N).
