Meiko and Taka were settling into her old apartment, herself in her old room and Taka in the small spare room she had. Not too big, but big enough for a six year old.

"Momma!" Taka yelled at, and Meiko walked back to the bedroom he was in to see him smiling happily at her. "Look I put up my clothes all by myself!" He said.

"Good job, my big man." She said as she bent down beside of him, pushing his hair back gently with a smile on his face.

"Momma, when is Otosan going to be back? I miss him." Taka said, and Meiko gave a small shrug.

"I don't know sweetie." She said quietly, and Taka began to pour slightly. "No pouting, you will seen him soon enough."

"I just want to see him now." He mumbled, and about that time there was a knock on the door. Meiko got up and walked to the door to reveal Sasuke, the boy from Kakashi's squad.

"Oh, Sasuke? What are you doing here?" Meiko said, and Sasuke stared at her with his bored expression.

"Kakashi sent me." He said. "Said for you to come with me to him. We're going out to eat because of the mission."

"Oh, that sounds nice. Come on in, I have to get Taka ready." She said as she took a step back, and Sasuke took a step inside the house with a 'Hn.'

Meiko shut the door behind him and disappeared down the hallway. Sasuke stayed in the living room, looking around at the belongings of Meiko's. All of the pictures of her and Kakashi, of the Hokage and Meiko, of that annoying blond girls Sensei and her.

"Sasuke!" Taka said as he took down the hallway, running towards the Uchiha. Sasuke's eyes widened slightly as he began to shake his head.

"No, don't!" Sasuke said, but it was too late. Meiko watched as Taka hugged Sasuke's leg, giggling slightly.

"Since you're back, does that mean my Otosan is?!" He said happily, and Sasuke glanced down at the little boy with a small blush forming on his cheeks. He nodded slightly at the little boy who hugged his leg tighter.

"Oh yay! Can you take us to him, please?!" Taka asked, and Sasuke glanced up at Meiko before back down at Taka. With the same annoyed expression that he always had, he glanced away from the little boy, but he leaned down and picked up Taka.

The Uchiha walked towards the door with the little boy now on his back with his arms wrapped tightly around Sasuke's neck, and his legs dangling around Sasuke's sides. Meiko smiled at the sight and quickly grabbed a few things to go see the team, including her wallet.

They left Meiko's apartment and started to Ichiraku's Ramen, Taka giggling and holding to Sasuke who was still trying to act as if he was this big tough guy. Meiko secretly thought that Sasuke liked Taka, at least a little bit.

They arrived at the ramen shop, Sakura and Naruto appearing in the distance. Naruto was jumping up and down and waving, and Sakura was just smiling and giving a small wave, the closer they got to Sakura, she began to giggle at the fact that Sasuke was carrying Taka.

"Oh Sasuke! You're so fatherly!" She said with a squeal, and Meiko raised her eyebrow slightly and tilted her head at the pink haired little girl. She rolled her eyes as she walked over to Sasuke and picked up Taka from the boys back.

"Hey old lady!" Naruto said happily, waving at Meiko.  Meiko sighed slightly but smiled at Naruto.

"Hello Naruto." She said as she placed her hand on his head. "How was your guys mission?" She asked as they entered the shop, sitting at the bar.

"It was amazing!" Naruto said happily, and Meiko laughed softly.

"That's good!" Meiko said as she placed Taka down beside of her, his small legs kicking back and forth slightly.

"Well, well, well! If it isn't Meiko Sarutobi!" Teuchi said with a smile, and Meiko nodded her head.

"Hello, Teuchi!" She said happily as she glanced over at Taka, then back at Teuchi.

"And who's this?" He asked motioning towards Taka, who smiled brightly.

"I'm Taka! I'm five!" He said, holding up five fingers.

"Is he yours Meiko?"

"Yes sir!" She said happily as she ruffled her sons head gently.

"And..." Teuchi trailed off, not wanting to assume that he was Kakashi's without asking.

"Kakashi." She said, and Teuchi chuckled slightly.

"Should have figured. You two were always together." He said, and Meiko blushed slightly.

"Hush!" She said with a laugh as she smiled. "I'd like my regular for both of us please!"

"You got it!"

"Hey old lady!" Naruto shouted. "Aren't you worried that Kakashi isn't here?"

"No." She said, and Naruto gave her a very shocked look.

"Because he'll be about twenty minutes to an hour late, and his excuse will be 'A black cat crossed my path so I had to take the long way around.'"

"How do you know?!"

"Because I've known him for longer than you." Meiko said, and Taka nodded slightly with a giggle.

"Yeah!" He said, and Meiko chuckled slightly.

"Now don't be hateful Taka, we're just playing around." Meiko said, and Naruto nodded slightly.

"Yeah Taka!" Naruto said, and Meiko glared at him.

"Do not sass my son." Meiko said to Naruto, who paled at the deadly look he was getting from Meiko.

"Sorry guys! A black cat crossed my path, so I had to take the long way around." Kakashi said as he walked into the Ramen shop, and Meiko pointed a finger at Naruto, laughing aloud.

"Ha!" She said, and Naruto gathered a look of complete disappointment.

"How did you know?!"

"I already told you, Naruto!" Meiko said, and in the middle of their arguing, Taka giggled and threw his arms up at his father.

"Otosan!" Taka said happily as Kakashi walk over to the little boy, picking him up.

"Hello, Taka." He said, and Taka smiled as he hugged his father tightly.

"I missed you!" Taka said.

"I missed you too, kiddo." Kakashi said as he sat down beside Meiko, where Taka had been sitting originally. Meiko glanced at Kakashi before looking back at her food, taking a few bites of her Ramen.

She knew deep down that she couldn't ignore Kakashi forever, because Taka loved his father so much. She would have to talk to him, and she knew that.

Taka nuzzled his head against Kakashi chest slightly, Meiko watching the scene unfold before her. Kakashi's hand on Taka's lower back, Taka nuzzling his head against Kakashi's chest still, Kakashi looking down at Taka with an adoring look. Even though he only met Taka once, she could see the love in his eye as he looked at Taka.

"Well,  I gotta get going." Naruto said as he stretched his arms, glancing at his teammates.

"Yeah, I do too. My parents want me home early." Sakura said, and Sasuke simply 'Hn'd.' at them. Kakashi nodded slightly as his team left without paying for their food. Meiko chuckled slightly as she got out her wallet and placed the amount of money for all the meals that were purchased by the kids and herself. Kakashi stared at her as if she was crazy, but with the same amount of love in his eyes as when he looked at Taka. A feeling he wasn't used to feeling anymore since Meiko left.

"Otosan... I wanna stay with you tonight.." Taka mumbled tiredly, and Kakashi glanced down at his son with a small smile on his lips from under his mask.

"Ask your mother." Kakashi said, and Taka looked over at his mother with bright, wide eyes.

"Please momma! Please let me stay with Otosan tonight!" Taka said, and Meiko hesitantly nodded.

"As long as your father promises to take care of you." Meiko said, and Kakashi nodded slightly.

"I promise."

"Then that's fine with me." Meiko said as she leaned down and kissed her sons head gently. "Be good, understand? If your father tells me you were bad at all, it'll be your ass. Understand?" She said, and Taka happily agreed.

"Yes momma! I love you!" He said, and Meiko smiled back at him. The 'I love you.' from Taka made her entire heart light up, and gave her a reason for being here.

"I love you too, Taka." She said as Kakashi stood up, still holding Taka in his arms. He nodded at Meiko, and she nodded back as Kakashi and Taka left the ramen shop.
