A Lighthearted Tune

Stretching her sore muscles, Lucy yawned. Opening her eyes she noticed the sun peeking through the dark curtains, she must have slept in. Something she had not done in weeks, she finally arose peacefully. She had slept through the night without a nightmare or horrid flashbacks! She was so proud of her subconscious-self!

However Lucy knew Natsu was the reason she slept so smoothly, holding her close and keeping her warm. As he snored, she ruffled his hair slightly. Jumping up she decided to take a nice and long shower, she was feeling great!

The girl whistled cheerfully as she turned the water on, excited to wash off. The pleasant melody awoke Happy and he soon realized the joyfully tune was coming from Lucy. Beaming, he shot out of his tiny house and shook Natsu.

"Natsu, Natsu! Wake up, wake up Butt Head!" Happy vigorously rattled his shoulder.

"What...?" Natsu groaned drowsily.

"Listen!" Happy pointed a small paw to the bathroom.

Annoyed, Natsu heard nothing out of the ordinary. The only sounds were the shower and Lucy mumbling something strange. Sitting up suddenly he took in her voice, she was not chattering. She was singing, he hadn't heard Lucy sing since before the accident. She sounded like an angel, a beautifully melodic angel. The song took him back to old times, when they just the three of them would go on missions together. How Lucy always accomplished her work with a merry tune, how she would hum to herself all moments of the day.

"She is singing." Natsu sighed, catching himself lost in thought.

"Isn't that great? Lucy is amazing!" Happy tugged on his sleeve, over flowing with joy.

"Yeah." Natsu seemed at a loss for words, his mind full of Lucy.

The shower stopped as Lucy stepped out of the bathroom, towel still on her head. "Good morning!" She chimed gleefully.

The two shocked boys waved as they observed her bubbly mood. Lucy stepped into the kitchen, continuing her song. "What would you like for breakfast?"

The words "Fried chicken!" And "Fish!" rang threw the kitchen. Neither of those things were breakfast foods, but she couldn't have expected anything else. They were both crazy. Rolling her eyes she started to work on preparing the meals.

Lighthearted banter filled the small room, laughter bouncing off the walls. Lucy, Happy and Natsu acted as if nothing had changed. Natsu seeing Lucy's mental progress, she was so strong. Overcome with delight to see her so happy again, glad to see her fully rejuvenated. Lucy was finally back to normal.

Thunder smote the peaceful setting, a loud explosion knocking the wall into multitudes of pieces. Shrapnel flew in all directions as the three unexpecting people inside were thrown down. As the dust settled Natsu pulled himself from the rubble of his own house, standing to see the culprit. Standing in the newly formed entryway was Savina Morelli.

The witch held a malevolent sneer as she glided forwards. "Im back."

Natsu scowled, growling as he stood. "How dare you come into my house."

Savina remained silent walking slowly towards him, preparing for battle he summoned his flame.

"Don't get to worked up." She teased. "I just need one simple thing from you."

Lucy coughed, pulling herself to her feet. Natsu was completely on fire and Savina loomed in front of him. She still wore her black cloak, hiding all but her neck up. However, her hood was down allowing Lucy to see her face fully for the first time. The same dark eyes she had made contact with in the guild peered into what ever she looked at. A long scar tore threw her upper right cheek, a second mark just above her left eye. Lucy noticed another jagged line on her neck as well, she wondered if this pattern continued for the rest of her body. Long curly auburn hair hung loosely from her head, flashing to a bright red in the light.

Turning her attention to Lucy, Savina glared in recollection. "Change of plan, I need the bearer of blue blood to come with me."

"Like hell, Im not going anywhere." Natsu stepped next to Lucy.

"Willing or not, you will be coming with me." The Witch corrected. Suddenly she advanced, drawing out a waved dagger.

In precise unison, Lucy called Virgo to attack from the front as Natsu looped around. The practiced routine almost second nature to the close partners. Summoning her Scorpio Star Dress Lucy heard a soft murmur calling her name. Turning around to listen, she heard it again! Searching through the rubble she found a tuff of blue fur sticking out of some rocks. Gasping she ran and uncovered the small cat. She cradled Happy in her arms, searching for injuries. It seemed that he was hit in the head by a large object, most likely a plank from the explosion.

"Happy!" Lucy called as tears grew in the corners of her eyes.

The battle continued as Natsu endlessly tried to even touch Savina, however she evaded all his attacks. Easily dodging them all, not even using her magic yet.

"Resistance is futile." Savina ducked under Natsu's leg with ease.

"What do you even want with me?" He spat angrily.

"That is information for another place, only I am allowed this precious information. I cannot have you blabbing it to the world. It is only between you and me."

"If you want something from me, you mess with all of  Fairy Tail." Natsu held his chin up proudly.

His concentration on the fight broke as Lucy called his name. The hushed tone of her voice worried him as he looked back to her. Tears fell from her eyes as she held something blue. Happy! She was holding Happy, his best friend. His head was bleeding as he laid limply in Lucy's grasp.

Natsu burst.
