car

Denki POV

It's been 3 weeks since they've been gone. It's fine, I'm used to it. It's not fun when they get back anyway... Though, I have run out of money already, and there's not much to eat in the house. It's fine, though, I'm used to it. I know they're doing this out of love. Why else would they be doing this?

I press the button on the dusty remote and the television screen flickers on. It was on my favorite show, Steven Universe. A world where everyone loves each other and solves their problems through talking, not belts. I love to watch it whenever my parents are home in my room. Secretly of course. Once, they saw the wedding episode and were not happy. I couldn't understand. What's wrong with two people kissing? Was it the fact that they both kind  of female? I don't know, but they didn't like it, but I did.

My elbow accidentally shoves the remote onto the hard floor, changing the channel. It was the news channel. I watch as they replay a horrible traffic accident takes place over and over. It doesn't stop.  The car flips upside down again and again. Up and down and up and down and up and down. My eyes glaze with tears without my consent.

"A couple coming back from the local bar has gotten into a horrible car accident and are currently being investigated. They suspect that both of them are dea-" I turned off the screen. A river runs down my face, flowing like a waterfall uncovered by a boulder of repression. And there I sat for about 10 minutes, violently sobbing until I force myself to stop.

"They're not gone" I tell myself. They can't be gone, after all I'm still waiting for them to get back. They have to come back. It's how it's always been. They leave for a while and they comes back. They come back because they love me. I love them. I really love them. I love them. I hate the-

I was back on the floor spurting out sobs again, unable to move.

I walk out of the house and walk for what feels like ages. I get to the point where I see a ton of traffic all backed up on a highway. Eventually, I see the police and fire department, along with a few heroes, gathered around a massive devastating car crash with the car flip over. The car was completely and utterly destroyed. No one would have been able to survive that. It's probably not them anyway.

My feet seem to move on their own as I walk towards the crash. As I get closer and closer, the world seems to fade away more and more until it is nothing more than white noise. I'm sure their were cars honking, heroes yelling, but I wouldn't see or hear them. The only thing that existed at the moment was the car with a few limbs hanging out of it.

My face peeked inside of the turned car and I saw what was definitely my parents. Dead. They were gone. Did they ever love me? I don't know. I don't know anything.

My head starts spinning rapidly and for just a single moment I saw my surroundings. The black sky with twinkling stars that seem to fade with sorrow. The police, heroes and firemen, who were staring at me extremely concerned.  A hero wearing black cloths that seemed to fade in with the night.

The world spun so fast around me that it drifted into one huge blur, until it was nothing. Nothing but cold, dark, blackness.
