I'm sorry I haven't updated in such a long time but I'm going to try and update this story more regularly from now on. Thank you for reading!

Lucy winced at the noise and glanced at the sword Nastu left behind. "Did you want to keep training?" Lucy asked looking up at Rin. Heading towards the sword left behind. "I don't have any training with swords but if you want someone to train with I can try" she said picking up the sword and turning to face the surprised Rin.

"You sure you want to train with me? Aren't you training to be a Tamer?" Rin asked lowering his guard.

"Yeah, I mean I already know how to summon my spirits so maybe I should know how to use the sword, and I don't want Natsu the hot-head to ruin your training." She replied holding the sword at the ready with far better form then Natsu had. Rin tilted his head to the side about to ask a question but Lucy lunged forward with a speed that nearly hit him in the side. With a thwak he blocked the hit, nearly missing.

"You're pretty good for a tamer," Rin said trying to get a hit on Lucy.

"My best friend knows how to use every sword you could think of, she might have taught me a couple things," Lucy smiled while driving Rin backwards.

"So that tattoo on your hand, is it like a couples tattoo to match Natsu," Rin asked aiming another attack.

"W-what! We-" she let down her guard for a moment before Rin swung and hit her smack in the side. Lucy tripped and fell smacking her hand down hard to catch her self.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you!" he dropped the wood sword to the ground and rushed to help Lucy up.

"We are definitely not a couple!" She scowled up at Rin before accepting his hand up. "And about what I said earlier, Natsu and I can help you train but I need to know more about your magic- I mean your flames."

"All I know is that I have blue flames that I can kind of control but I'm not in complete control yet," he rubbed the back of his neck, "my brother says I need to be able to control the flames and start thinking with my head more."

"Wow you and Natsu sound like you have more in common than I thought," she responded laying her sword to the side. "So if  we're going to train you I'll have to see what we're working with." Lucy sat, with crossed legs, on a nearby bench and pat on the bench for Rin to sit across from her.

"Are you sure? I'm not in control so it could be dangerous."

"I've been in more dangerous situations then I can count, I'm sure I'll be okay," Rin sat down mirroring her sitting position.  He took a clip from his pocket and pulled his bangs out of his face. He closed his eyes for a moment and blue flames erupted around his body.

"Whoa, I can't say I've seen blue flames before," Rin opened his eyes to Lucy leaning close to his face.

"Hey!" Rin jumped, his tail springing from underneath his shirt.

"Haha, you should've seen your face!" Lucy laughed, while Rin crossed his arms and pouted. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," she said while wiping tears from her eyes, "but your flames really are pretty."

"I-I wouldn't say they're pretty, at least no one else ever has," Rin replied looking down.

"Well I think they are but I want to know what they can do," she looked around and grabbed one of the training swords, "what can you do to this?" Rin looked at the sword, squinting his eyes he looked at it harder. Nothing happened to the sword. He stared at it for a few more moments squinting until his eye's were barely visible. With a flash the sword burst into flames. Blue light licked the air and within moments the entire sword turned to ash leaving Lucy holding a chard handle.  "Okay so I'd say your flames are powerful and although it took some time. Why do you think you need training?"

"Yukio and Shura say I need to have more control of them, I tend to go overboard." The flames surrounding Rin fell and his tail drooped, "my friends don't trust that I won't hurt them, I would never but they don't seem to understand that."

Lucy took Rins hand and smiled, "don't worry I'll help and in no time they'll see that they have nothing to  worry about."

"Tha-" The room shook. With a thunderous sound the far wall burst in, a shower of concrete and dust rained on Lucy and Rin. The dust hung in the air clouding Lucy and Rins vision. Lucy stepped down splashing as her foot broke into cold water.

"Hello, brother."
