Maddie's POV
              Finally, everyone got down except for Mackenzie and I. Kenz was really scared, so I was with her. She was squeezing my arm as the bear advanced on us. The other girls were shouting at us to hurry up, but neither of us payed any attention. "Kenz, let go of me! You're digging your claws into my arm! That hurts!" I exclaimed. "Maddie, I'm scared!" She replied. "It's ok! You don't need to be scared! Look, I'll go first so you can see!" Kenzie slowly let go of my arm. "Thank you!" I said in return, and she nodded. I stood on the edge of the cliff, looking down at the faces just beneath me. Yikes! It was a long way down if you fell! Kenzie was watching me. I slowly descended. My feet hit the platform and I was safe. "See, Kenzie!? There's nothing to be afraid of!" I said confidently. "No, Mads! I'm still scared!" What was I supposed to do? I had no words for her. Fortunately, Brooke came to the rescue. "Kenzie, don't worry! You'll be fine! And if you fall, don't worry! I'll be right here to catch you! I promise! Brooke said. "Ok." Came the quiet response. We all looked up and saw Mackenzie's face. "Ok, Kenzie-boo! You ready!?" Brooke asked. Kenzie slowly nodded. Then she looked down. "No, Kenzie! Don't look down!" I scolded, and she looked back up. My little sister turned around and took a step back words. But she stepped too far.

Mackenzie screamed as she fell backwards. She clawed at the air as if she wanted to grab it and hold on. But there was nothing there. We all gasped. "Kenzie, no!" I screamed, almost in tears. But luckily, Brooke was there. If it weren't for her, my little sister would have died. I would have nothing more to live for if she was gone.
          Brooke rubbed my little sister's back as Kenzie cried into her shirt. "Mackenzie!" I screamed as I planted a kiss on her forehead. Then, I hugged Brooke. "Thank you, Brookie! Thank you for my sister's life. Thank you so much!" I cried. "Here, Maddie. You take her." Said Brooke, passing Kenzie to me. I took her. "Kenzie, Kenzie, Kenzie! I love you so much!" I pushed her back a little so I could see her face. She rubbed her eyes and sniffled. "Are you ok?!" Slowly, Mackenzie nodded. I cried, tears of joy. "Oh, Kenz! I don't know what I'd do without you!" I said. She smiled a little.
         "Uh, guys?! I don't mean to break this incredibly touching moment, but.... We kinda sorta need to.... I don't know... Go somewhere safe!?" Chloe said. Well, more like she asked. "Right!" We all exclaimed as we climbed up, one by one, except I climbed with a scared Mackenzie  in my arms.
