The Winchesters
Rory and Amy ran throughout the TARDIS, going the way they came to the control room. The Doctor was nowhere in sight.
"We should do some research in the library," Amy suggested, "Maybe we can find out what happened to The Doctor."
Rory looked around anxiously, "What if he comes back though?"
Amy looked at the front door. It was wide open, tire marks stretching out the doorway and across the field. She shook her head, "I doubt he will for right now... Just shut and lock the door so we can go look around. The bloke on the phone said he wouldn't be here for awhile anyways."
Rory hesitated, but did what she said. They walked side by side together towards the library.
"It just doesn't make any sense... Did something happen to him? Is he even himself anymore?" Amy mused.
Rory rubbed her back reassuringly, "I'm sure we'll figure it out and those men will help us too. They obviously know a thing or two."
She stopped in her tracks and whacked him on the chest with her hand to stop him, "That's a better idea! You go to the library! I have to make a call first!"
Leaving Rory standing dazed and confused, she ran down the hall and to the telephone box and quickly dialed the number. Dean answered at the very last ring, "What happened?!" He asked urgently.
"Nothing recently but-"
"Don't DO that! I thought your friend got in! We're on our way we just had to get something to eat."
"We're fine as of now, but we need information."
"Look, Sweetheart. We're on our way, we can deal with it."
"Oh shut up. Don't talk to me like I'm helpless or I will kick your ass," she snapped through the phone.
He apologized, "I'm sorry. I just haven't eaten all day.... Right. What's your name? I don't think you told me."
"I'm Amy, Amy Pond," she informed.
"Well hello, Amy," he said slightly flirtatiously.
"Uh-anyways... I was wondering if you could tell me what exactly is wrong with my friend," Amy questioned.
"Oh, I thought you knew. So basically your friend has been possessed by a demon," Dean stated.
"A demon? Like some kind of alien that basically is a demon?" she asked worriedly.
"What? No. A demon. Like, The Exorcist kinda demon, but with less vomiting."
"I don't understand. It's got to be some sort of alien. It's always some sort of alien."
Dean burst out laughing, "An alien? You been smoking something? Please tell me you're not one of those freaks who believes in that shit."
She mocked his laughter, "Yeah well ha ha ha back at you. I don't believe in that 'shit.' I've seen it. I've fought them, I've saved them, hell I even liked one at some point. Don't even get me started on this because trust me if you don't 'believe' now then when you get here you'll understand because my friend is in fact an alien. I guess your friend, Bobby, knew him as an alien too. So why don't you shut that damn mouth of yours and stop being such a-a man."
Dean was silent for a moment, "Okay. Calm down. I didn't mean to piss you off. We'll just see when we get there. Guess I can't really assume it's not real. I've seen everything people think is impossible. You sound like you've seen a hell of a lot too..."
"Yeah. I have. Now can you explain more about what my friend is?" she asked.
"Well I don't know why a demon is possessing your friend, but his meat suit has one in it. If you know all those religious stories for Christianity, well angels and demons are real. I've seen Lucifer with my own eyes, literally, have been to hell and back, purgatory and back, and even heaven and back. Rose from the dead a few times too. Everything you thought couldn't be real, it's all real. Vampires, werewolves, witches, ghosts, pagan gods, shape shifters, it's all real," he explained.
She was silent for a moment and leaned against the wall in the enclosed space. She couldn't believe what she had heard, her mind was flooding with possibilities of all the monsters out there in the world. It terrified her that her worst nightmares were real.
"You okay there, Amy?" Dean asked after a long pause.
She snapped out of her thoughts, "Yes, of course. So a demon? That sounds a lot worse than I imagined..."
"It is way worse. It's going to be difficult and I can't make any promises on anything right now. All I can give you is our word that we will try our best to help you," Dean said in between swallows of his burger.
Rory called to Amy from outside the telephone booth, "Amy, are you in there?"
"I've got to go, but please hurry here..." She told Dean.
She hung up and walked out to Rory. He smiled at her, "I found something in the library!"
She sighed, "I found out something too."
She slumped to the ground against the wall, thinking that she could've lived her entire life without knowing the information Dean just told her. Rory sat beside her with his stupid adorable worried face, "What's wrong?"
"You know when you're little and scared of the dark because of the monsters your juvenile mind thinks is there? And how your mother will tell you nothing is there and to not be scared anymore?"
Rory nodded, concern on his face.
Amy continued, "Then imagine finding out everything your juvenile mind used to be terrified of is all too real. Every monster you believed lurked at night was completely real."
"Amy, why are you talking like this?" Rory asked worried.
"I just found out it's real. That Dean bloke told me. And I believe him too because he sounded like he's seen as much as we have. He explained and I realized he's seen way more than we have. It's crazy and scary that it could all be so true..."
"Why would you believe him?" Rory asked, "He's a complete stranger with a dead man's number."
"Well obviously he knows something about the Doctor's black eyes. I think he might know a lot about other things. Not to mention all the aliens we've encountered and never thought could be real... Let's just go, show me what you found," she said, standing up.
They walked to the library together and spent most of their time there looking through different books that looked like they might possibly relate to the situation. By the end of it Amy was just lounging with a book in her hand because it was the only way to relax her. Rory made the two of them microwaveable dinners while Amy read.
They both ended up slowly falling asleep on some bean bag chairs in the library that The Doctor insisted on putting in there to make reading more 'fun' and comfortable. The phone rang throughout the TARDIS and Amy shot up immediately and ran down the hall to the telephone booth. She answered the phone out of breath, "Hello?"
"It's Dean. So my brother and I are at the coordinates. All we see is that blue police box hunk of junk. Where are you?"
"It's not a hunk of junk! I'll be out in a minute. Just wait for me," she said and immediately hung up.
She yelled to Rory in passing the library, "Get up! Get up! Our help is here!"
She ran to the front door and swung the door open. She spoke out of breath, "Hello Dean," she addressed the tall one, "Hello Dean's friend," she said to the shorter.
The tall one touched his tongue to the top of his lip, trying to hold back a laugh.
"I'm Dean. Me," Dean said defensively, "This is my younger brother, Sam."
Amy raised her eyebrows, "Oh?"
Sam lightly waved at her with a half smile.
"So, mini skirt, please tell me how the hell you fit inside this little box with your friend."
She opened the door a little wider with a smirk playing on her face. Dean and Sam's eyes widened and their jaws dropped. Dean commented, "No freaking way."
Dean walked back outside and took a lap around the box, then jogged back inside. "Okay, I believe you now, but how the hell-"
Amy chuckled, "Alien technology."
Dean freaked out, "How could Bobby not tell us about this?!"
Sam looked around a little, slightly geeking out. Rory walked into the room, stretching and yawning. Dean flirted with Amy, "So, sweetheart, wanna tell me a little more about your friend?"
Rory glared at Dean, "Excuse you, that's my wife."
Dean burst out in laughter and pointed at Rory. He looked at Amy, "Really? Him?"
Rory knit his eyebrows, "What's so funny?"
"Uh, nothing, it's just... she's hot as hell, dude! How?"
Amy smiled a little, but Rory narrowed his eyes and punched Dean in the jaw. Dean hit the ground.
"I really don't like Americans."
"Easy on the hits, Rocky," Dean said from the ground.
Sam laughed, "You had that coming, dude. Don't flirt with another man's wife and tell him she's out of his league."
Amy laughed too.
"Sadly, this wouldn't be the first time this has happened. Hell, I'm pretty sure he's slept with married women before," Sam teased.
Dean raised an eyebrow, "And you haven't, Mr. Perfect? Remember being soulless? Because I do."
Sam rolled his eyes, "Shut up, Dean. So, anyway, Amy, do you have any idea where your friend might be?"
She shook her head, "Not really. I think I heard him take off on his motorbike. If it wasn't so dark outside and you didn't drive over his trail, you could probably see them."
Dean stood up, rubbing his jaw, "Is there any other way we could track him? Does he have a phone on him or anything at all?"
Amy looked at Rory, "Maybe his sonic screwdriver?"
Rory asked, "Do you think the TARDIS could track him?"
"But we don't even know how to work this machine," Amy reminded.
"The Doctor must have some sort of hologram instructions for this exact situation," Rory voiced.
Amy said aloud, "TARDIS, Doctor interface?"
Sure enough The Doctor projected as a hologram and stood at attention.
"Uh... What do I do if you're missing?" Amy tried.
It spoke, "I assume something has happened to me and I am not myself or I ran away. Midlife crisis maybe? Who knows really, but if you need to find me, press the red button I point at and the TARDIS will use the tracking device I installed into my sonic screwdriver to find me. In the occasion I do not have my screwdriver, do not worry. Click the green button directly next to the red button and the TARDIS will attempt to find me in her own way. Red button would be a lot more accurate, green may just bring you to the same city I am in. Good luck, Amy."
The Doctor then froze and pointed at the two buttons. Amy asked Rory, "Did he have his sonic?"
Rory shrugged, "I'm not entirely sure since we were running away from him. Just press the green button to be safe because if the screwdriver is inside the TARDIS, it might go up in flames."
Amy nodded in agreement and pressed the green button. She yelled, "Hold on, boys!"
The room shook and the TARDIS took off with her signature wheeze.
Dean panicked, "But what about Baby?!"
Amy's voice was choppy from the turbulence, "Who the hell is Baby?"
Sam smirked, "His car."
After a moment the TARDIS finally stopped and they all fell to the ground. Amy immediately stumbled to her feet and ran out the door. People were walking passed them in a hurry. She asked, "Where are we?"
Dean stuck his head out the door, "We passed through this town on our way to you. Never caught the name though."
They heard sirens to a police car and immediately Amy and Dean sprinted after it down the sidewalk. Dean complained, "If I had Baby, this would be a lot less tiring."
"Shut up and run," she scolded.
"Whatever you say, Nessie."
They came to a halt to find an entire diner filled with dead bodies piled up and blood splattered everywhere.
"Did he-" she whispered in horror.
Tears began to form in her eyes and Dean pulled her into a hug. He comforted her best he could, "Don't look. Just remember this isn't him, I promise."
She held Dean's jacket tightly in her fists and cried into the leather of his jacket. She just wanted him back. She didn't realize until now just how bad it was... She pulled away and wiped her tears.
"Come on. We can't afford anymore dilly dallying. Let's go find The Doctor," she stated.
