Timber's Perspective
I grabbed my coat and helped Ashen with the zipper on his and went outside, the wind greeting me like a person on the street. "Are we going to the market today?" Ashen asked as he comes out with a ball. "Later," I told him as I clapped my hands. He threw the ball a bit wimpish to me; nonetheless I caught it. He smiled at me and I softly threw it back and he caught it easily. "I caught it this time!" He smiled. "You're doing much better," I told him, feeling like a proud father. He throws it again, this time a bit too low and it ended up going between my legs. I run to go get it while he laughs at me. I smirk at the boy and threw it at him. He landed on his bottom and began to cry as the ball hit his face. I pulled him onto my lap and tried to calm him. "It's okay Ashen, I didn't mean to. I'm sorry," I say as I look at the weld on his forehead; I clearly don't know my own strength apparently. He hides his face in my chest as he sniffles. I lead him inside and get some ice and sit him on the stool I use for several purposes. He had calmed now as he leaned against me while I held the ice on his head. "Can we watch a movie?" He asked. I sighed and nodded as I sat him on the couch that was made from a few logs and a fluffy rug. He held the ice pack on his forehead as I put in Hercules and let him watch that while I made a list for the supermarket.
"Green peppers...
Eggs...
Bananas...
Plastic sheets...
Bread...
Toothpaste..
Shampoo...
Grapes...
Cheese...
Chocolate ice cream...
Popcorn...
Toilet paper...
Potatoes...
Vegetable oil...
Cake batter...
Milk..."
I continued to read off the list until I got to the end with "ginger".

Ashen's Perspective
"Can we go now?!" I asked as I jumped off the couch, the movie ended and I got bored. "Can we? Can we please?" I looked up to him. I was happy my head stopped hurting otherwise I'd be still angry at Daddy because he hurt me and he promised he wouldn't do that. I heard him laugh. "Sure thing Ash," he ruffled my hair. I pouted a little when he touched my hair, but smiled at his reply. I bounced happily before taking his hand and leading him outside happily. "Slow down there Ashy, the market isn't going anywhere," he says. I whined, not wanting to waste more time.

~at the market~
I looked around while daddy got the groceries. "Daddy!" I shout, seeing the candy isle. "Can I get some PLEASE?" I asked, hoping he'd say yes, though he hardly ever does. "Maybe next time," he says. "But you said that last time," I pouted. He sighed and eyes the isle. "Maybe if you're good," he says, which probably meant no. "Promise?" I asked. "Promise," he nodded. I smiled and continue to follow him around the store, making sure to be good and helpful to him. We were soon at the check out isle and without candy. "Daddy candy?" I asked him. "Oh sure Ash," he says as he began to check out. I ran to get my favorite candy, SKITTLES!!! I run back to where he was checking out and put it on top of the box of corn dogs. Once we are ringed up, daddy pays while I hugged my skittles tightly to my chest as if someone might take them away from me. As we head out the door a small boy runs and clings to daddy. MY DADDY!

Timber's Perspective
I looked down to the small boy who couldn't be any older than three or four. He had tears in his innocent green eyes as a chunky woman holding a flip flop ran over to us, her face with anger. "Alec Christopher!" She yelled as she got closer. I felt bad for the boy. "You better get back inside this instant!" She yelled. "Um...excuse me I don't think you should talk to him like that," I say, seeing the little boy cry broke my heart. "Don't let her take me," he whimpered out to me. "Out of my way," she says as she tried to push me, though I didn't budge. "You know if this was my child o wouldn't treat him like that," I tell her in anger. "You want to adopt him?" He eyes widened. "Wait? He's an orphan?!"I asked, a bit surprised. "Yeah, shouldn't be too shocking," she scoffed. I picked the boy up, the groceries still on my arms. "Lead me the way," I tell her, knowing that I didn't want this child to get hurt anymore. "No daddy!" Ashen frowned. "It's okay Ash, he'll be you little brother," I say to my other boy, though he didn't seem so thrilled. The woman rolled her eyes and led us to a rundown looking orphanage. Poor kid, he lives here? Er..lived here. While I'm signing his paperwork he began crying. I frown and looked at him. "Al, what's wrong?" I asked the blondish haired boy in my lap. "Bubba," he whimpered. "What'd he do?" I asked as I looked over to Ashen. "Nwo bubba!" He cries more. "I forgot, this guy is a package deal. Him and his brother are inseparable," the woman says as she came over to them. "Bring him out then, I'll take them both," I say, not really knowing what I got myself into. They woman laughed hysterically as she ran down the hall. "What was that about?" I muttered as I watched her before going back to filling out the paperwork for my new baby boy. That was when I saw he wasn't potty trained. I frowned, knowing he should be potty trained soon. I looked to the boy to see that he was picking his nose. I gently moved his hand away. "No no, don't do that," I tell him gently. He frowned at me and I sighed. Finally finished with the paperwork. That was when the woman came back with a semi-blonde headed boy, holding his arms behind his back as he began to curse at her, saying he didn't do anything. That language will certainly not be tolerated. It was clear the kid had problems, but I can sure help fix them. My eyes widened a little at the 't' shaped scar that was right under his eye though most of it was hidden under a huge bruise that blended in his black eye. D-did they do that to him? "Timber, this is Bruce," the woman says, keeping her grip on him. "Get your hands away from me!" He shouted as he tried to shake her away.

Ashen's Perspective
Bruce is scary and he says bad words, I don't like him. I flinched behind daddy, not wanting to live with anyone but daddy. "Daddy please do we have to take him?" I whined to him. "It'll be okay Ashen," he says before kissing my head, something he knows always calms me. I nodded and leaned against his shoulder, watching him fill out his boring paper work while the scary woman continue to keep the scary boy away from me. "Bubba!" The small boy who got us in this mess says and hugged the scary man. Did he have magic or something? The scary boy appeared to be smiling when the boy had hugged him. "Good job Alec, you're going to get us out of here," I hear him say to the boy. "I did good?" The boy asked. "You did," Bruce nodded. I was confused since I would never understand what it's like to have a brother, or a sister, I was the only child when I lived with my mom, though she had several miscarriages and the only baby she managed to have besides me died at the age of one, Ryan. I still don't have feelings about it though. I wish I was still the only child, but NOOOO!! Daddy just had to adopt two meanies off the street! Stupid daddy! I-I didn't mean it daddy!
