Chapter 2
CHAPTER 2- FIGHT SONG
When I woke up, sweat was piled on my back, and my forehead was as cold as ice. My body was shaking, and everything was blurry. Reality kicked in, and I could hear a scream. It was later on, that I realised it was mine. I was screaming my heart off, That I knew I would eventually go hoarse. That guy came in minutes later, with some medical pills. I had no idea what he had them for, but my anxiety started to creep in.
"You're Clarissa? I'm Jason. And you need to take these." He says. I shake my head furiously, and rush out of the bed I was in. Jason puts a hand on my shoulder, and stops me. His eyes turned a yellow colour, and I dizzy spell went over my vision.
"I will keep doing this until you take these." He says, pointing to his eyes. I shake my head, and walk past him quickly.
He takes my arm, and all of a sudden claws come out of his nails. I gasp, and he lets go.
"I-I'm trying not to hurt you.... But you aren't making this easy. Just take these damn pills woman!" He yells.
"No way!" I yell. I run outside, and get shocked at what I see. There was probably miles and miles of forest. It was pretty obvious he was going to keep me here. But I need to try and leave while I can.
"I don't think so, Clarissa." He says, grabbing my hand right before I was about to break off into a run.
"Let go of me! You stupid, pain in the butt egg!" I yell, getting my other hand, and slapping his cheek. He growls under his breath, but I wasn't scared.
"Clarissa. I wouldn't hurt you. If I was going too, wouldn't of done it by now?" He says, grabbing my other hand so I couldn't slap him again. He smiles, and makes my whole body shudder.
"Take me home! I am not some toy you can take with you! Take me home you-" I start, but notice a tear escapes his left eye.
"Do you know how lonely I get here? All by myself? I just want someone. I won't hurt you, I won't lay a hand on you unless you tell me too." He says, making me smile.
"Why me? My family, they'll want me." I say, shaking my head. He frowns, and looks at me with an oblivious face.
"They don't care about you, Clarissa. They want you to be like them. And I am not wasting someone's life like that. That's why you're here. I've been watching you for some time, Clarissa. And I know your strengths and weaknesses. People's words hurt you more then anything, but people's love, makes you love what you look like. I know you used too-" I make him stop. I couldn't stand it anymore.
"Please, just stop. I don't need to hear about myself. My parents want me to be what I want to be. I know they do. They told me-" I say, but then it clicks. All the hushed conversations they thought I couldn't hear and sneaking art books under my pillow, even though I was horrible at art.
Swaying on my feet, I close my eyes. Lies. Everyone lies. Even yourself. You aren't pretty. You don't deserve anyone. "Clarissa?" Asks Jason, putting a supportive hand on my back. I needed it there, or I would fall. Fall into the unknown.
"Clarissa?" Asks Jason again, making me gasp. He keeps his supportive hand there, but I couldn't stay. I knew that the only time someone loves me, is when they want me to do something for them.
Stomping on his feet hard, he lets go of me, and clutches his foot.
Breaking off into a run, I leave him behind me, gasping in pain.
I should of never let Jason in. Now he thinks I somehow want to be with him.
"Clarissa! Wait!" Yells Jason, coming up behind behind me.
I keep running faster then before, but Jason still manages to catch up with me.
"Please, just trust me Clarissa. I would never hurt you." He says, taking me hand, and leading us both back to where we came from.
