(Narrator's pov)

July 7th, X794,
The battle of Alveraz is over. Fiore was protected by the wonderful guilds that live throughout the land. Zeref was defeated and Natsu still lived. Everyone believed that everything was alright, that the final battle was won, they were dead wrong. It was now mating season for the dragons and the dragon slayers were also being affected.

The males started fights more often and the females were growing a bit submissive and shy. It really wasn't pretty, Master Makarov controlled everyone by blackmailing and order several females to his office.

"Levy, Mira, Wendy, Lucy, and (Y/n), you are all fully aware that mating season has started for the dragon slayers and the males are getting a bit violent. I've called you all up here because we believe you four will be choose as mates.", Master sighed.

(Y/n) blushed red thinking about her patch of red scales on her neck, she's been chosen already but nobody found out. Wendy would be choosing her mate, aka Romeo!!! ROWEN CONFIRMED PEOPLE!!!

Anyways everyone walked out of the office and back downstairs. (Y/n) hid quietly in the back of the guild and watched as Natsu picked fights with the other males, this was his first season so it's a bigger toll on him.

"This was only the first day, mating season lasts two weeks and in that time mating pairs must mate at least five to six times in order to produce a child. We're barely twenty, are we even ready to parents.", (y/n) thought to herself.

Suddenly arms wrapped around (y/n)'s waist and pulled her close. She trembled in pleasure when she felt their hot breathe on her sensitive neck. She whimpered quietly as their hands moved down her curves.

"Na-natsuuu~", (y/n) moaned softly.

Her salmon haired mate chuckled and bit down lightly on her mark. Things were getting a bit heated in that silent corner of the guild, until Natsu was kicked away from her and into a wall!!

Kito wrapped his arms protectively around his friend and growled at the fire breather now on the floor.

"You don't get too touch her till next mating season I can tell you're going to be too rough on her.", Kito growled.

I stared up awkwardly at my friend and then at my angry mate. I pulled away from Kito and walked towards Natsu and helped him up. My mate wasn't all that happy, this was bad, Natsu's a little too emotional in this state he could cause some serious damage. He's completely unaware of what he's doing and saying.

"K-kito can you take over watching Natsu I've gotta go to the bathroom.", I lied.

I kissed Natsu's forehead and ran off but Lucy stopped me, she had a sinister grin plastered on her face.

"We'll see who Natsu picks. I'm telling you now I'm not letting him go that easily.", she growled.

I trembled in fear, female dragon slayers become weak and submissive during mating season, and Lucy knew that. I'm too weak to pick a fight and if she wins over Natsu then a part of me will die. She broke us apart once and I'm sure she's willing to do it again.

After she let me go I continued my rush to the bathroom!! I gasped for breathe and whimpered at the searing pain from my mark. My hand cupped the mark to try and calm the pain with my ice magic but it didn't help. This could mean bad news for me.

"(Y/n) sweetie are you alright in there.", Erza asked.

I chocked back a whimper and struggled to answer her back.
"Y-yes I'm perfectly fine!! Just thinking about something urgent."

This pain was to much to bear but I don't understand why it's like this, it's been three years since I've been marked and nothing this bad has happened before. I wish the dragons were still here so they could help me.

It's the first day of mating season and I'm stuck in excruciating pain, and now wonder if my mate and I were even meant to be. These next few weeks may just test the bond between me and Natsu.

"This pain is a warning that darkness will soon hit you like lightning...."
